There's an inherent tragedy about lansoni that's so special to me actually because at the end of the day it's a lose lose situation

If sonic chooses to go home, he has to leave behind Lancelot with no hope of ever seeing him again. His view of Lance is also never truly bias free because at the end of the day, with all the extra armor taken off, he's a spitting image of Shadow. and even if he somehow gets over the bias, if he does go back home, he'll end up doing the same thing he did to Lancelot to Shadow instead.

If sonic decides to stay, he loses all his friends and family from his world. He loses his little brother, his rival, his best friends. He becomes a king when it's the furthest thing he'd want to be. He'll have to be complacent and find compromise to do anything, his freedom practically stripped away as king. He may have Lancelot and a new family with the round table and his son (Galahad), but that doesn't lessen the blow of leaving his own behind.
