In where Oscar accidentally took the wrong laundry bag and wore Max’s Org shirt instead. (both of them are Engineering students)
His Professor had drained him, using all her time in their Hydraulics subject which ended 6PM. An evening.
He was late for the Laundry Shop near his University. They were going to close and his clothes for the next days were still there. Already washed and perfectly folded, wrapped in clear plastic bag like always.
When Oscar arrived at the Laundry Shop, no one was there. Probably the owner, which he knows now, (he was a regular here ever since freshman year) was at the storage area, checking her stocks. In the receiving area lays two clear plastic bags, both had orange shirt in them. The bright color of the Engineering Organization, it was their color. Orange. Every Engineering students were required to wear it. Every Thursday. Even if you don’t look good in orange.
Oscar didn’t want to bother the sweet lady anymore, having paid beforehand and just took the plastic bag near him thinking it was his since there was the orange shirt— Oscar’s. With his midterms starting tomorrow, he was tired. Let alone his professors cramming their lectures to be added in the exams. Picking his washed laundry doesn’t really need a brain cell to use right now. He comes in, give his dirty laundry, pay, take it the next day. Simple. And he was the last person, possibly, to receive their laundry for the day.
Clearly he was really exhausted and wrong.
When he wore his Org. shirt the next day, Oscar furrowed his eyebrows on how big it was for him— did the Laundry Lady magically made it bigger? Shouldn’t it shrunk instead? Oscar didn’t second guess it, and took his bag. Logan was waiting for him for their last-minute review session.
Logan did take a double take when he saw Oscar. “Mate, are you seeing someone?”
“What? No. I don’t have time for that”
Logan paused. “Are you sure..?” He circled Oscar, then stopping at his side, where Oscar’s initials would be in his right sleeve. Logan gasped, looking at Oscar as if he sacrificed his grades for a good sleep.
“What?” Oscar’s tone was annoyed now.
“You’re wearing his shirt”
“No, Oscar!” Logan pointed to his sleeve, “M.E.V is embroidered here not O.J.P!”
“And who’s this M.E.V person then? Oh my god, I took the wrong laundry bag!” Oscar suddenly felt conscious. Despite the first day of their midterms, his mind had spiraled into this— his shirt— he was wearing someone else’s shirt! How did he let this happened? What has gotten into him to not use his brain yesterday?
Logan had explained, as he guided the panicked Oscar to their building about who belonged the shirt to— who M.E.V was.
A fellow engineering student, batch mate of theirs, and also, a monster athlete. He was the Captain of the Soccer Club, despite being a regular student managing his time in academics and sports. Oscar had heard of him sure, but he had not seen the man in flesh. Max was in another section, their schedules didn’t properly align to just casually bump into each other.
Oscar tried his best to focus on his exams, Structural Theory kept his mind calm. He had asked Logan afterwards about Max’s section schedule so he can, at least, properly apologize to Max for taking the wrong laundry bag and wearing his shirt.
It took him five minutes to find the man.
Max was not wearing their Org shirt (because yeah, Oscar was wearing it) he was wearing a white shirt that wrapped perfectly to his bicep Oscar thought. He was alone in the classroom, the next one after their designated classroom examination. Sitting perfectly still, eyes focused on his paper. Probably reviewing or analyzing game plan. Oscar halt for a moment, composing himself.
“I’m sorry— we swap— I took the wrong laundry bag yesterday and now I’m wearing your shirt, which I swear I didn’t realize with the exams going on” Oscar stops, trying not to look, to sound embarrassed.
Max stood up, walking until he stops, facing Oscar in the door way, “That’s why my org shirt didn’t fit in,” Amusement showed on his face. “I was curios who O.J.P was”
“Oscar, right? You’re the top 2”
Oscar wince, not wanting to be remembered as top 2 because this semester he’ll be top 1.
“Yeah. Max, I’m really sorry this happened, I’ll give your clothes back after my last exam for the day”
Max nodded, assessing Oscar, eyes lingering for a moment on Oscar’s lips before saying, “What’s your number?”
Max chuckled, “Your phone number, so I could message you once my exams are done for the day. If you want to get your clothes back, of course.”
Oscar stumbles before taking Max’s phone and tapping his own number.
“Good. I’ll see you at the 8133 Café later. Don’t forget to bring my clothes” Max smiled, his eyes if Oscar could ever believe it were twinkling.
Oscar just nodded apologizing again before stepping backward just to have a distance, turning his heel towards the hallway.
“My shirt looks good on you”
(I could see this as a fic ngl, I just need SOMEONE to actually write it. I’ll gladly help, give you insight since unfortunately I would not be able to fully write it.)
🌟: Guys I wrote this instead of sleeping so if there’s any error, God forbids a girl just wanted to get this out of her head before resting.
🌟🌟: Also did I tell you English is not my first language? GOOD NIGHTTTT
