lost in creativity

According to my dear mother

Love is an addiction

Just like any other 

Bet you never knew 

I was addicted to you 

Didn’t know what to do

Always feeling blue

Whenever we were apart

Right from the start 

I gave you my heart 

You tore it apart

You wanted my soul  

That was your goal

You wanted full control 

I said no, you’ll have to go 

And so I play my role

Every now and then I look at my pen

Look at my pen and wonder

If we should be down by the sea

Away from all the thunder

My pen and I, an azure sky

We’d have no time for slumber

Could we then write both day and night

Or would that be a blunder

Can’t blame the clock for writer’s block

Time is just a number

* nightly anticipating a visit  to the land of dreams  literally, not metaphorically  as poets, optimists & escapists  waxing romantic do there  i’m in friendly company & its confines, though random & undefined are a product of my own  life, soul & mind i’ve always felt  it’s been ‘slept on’ - pun 'tended - seen as a last resort, relegated to the occasional retelling if remembered, or mythical inspiration for  artists & scientists alike

maybe i’ve maintained the internals of a kid, perhaps i possess  a non-infernal id,  but always have i deemed  the dreamstate a most desirable & sacred place fascinating  rather than dreadful - i find, parsing the questions  roaming my subconscious mind, suppressed urges & yearnings  in cinematically swirled sequences surfaced courtesy of my DNA’s worldcrafting embed

i’ll chance the occasional  sweat & terror inducing nightmares  & their associated Oneroi,  if it means meandering through fanciful frames & fragments  from the amazing maze of me, planked -  first-person explorer mode 

& how fun is flying? vying in best case scenarios beyond my wildest…(you know)

should it not happen  any given night,  there’s always a chance to pillow prospect the next -
