This Big Black Voodoo Daddy has been mellowing in my cellar for 4 years. It is smooth and deep. I'd love to try something fresh from the store now that it's distributed locally.

Hi-Wire Brewing 10W-40 Horchata Stout. 1.5 thumbs up. I was hyped to finally try a Horchata stout and this one just missed my expectations.
My lighting sucks and doesn’t do this beer's color justice but the beer certainly doesn’t suck. Reddish hue, juicy, sweet, just yum.
Wow! Two great beers right there. You get everything that is advertised: Cocoa nose and flavor with added vanilla on the tongue in the Aphrodite. Coffee everywhere in the Peche Mortel. Personally, if I had to choose, it would be Aphrodite ahead by a hair, but both are outstanding.
Thumbs up for these two that I had over the weekend.

Hello again Tumblrs, I am going to give this another go. I have lost some of the weight that I wanted and so I feel comfortable drinking some again. This was a decent beer to start of with, it’s a little warm out for a stout but I wanted to jump right back in. Take the Black is a malt bomb with a heavy char backbone. This is not for the faintest of heart.
Please excuse some format changes and the picture quality, I am using an iPad to run things now and still learning the ropes.
I am still here.
I just wanted to let folks know that I am still around and have not abandon this space. I have been trying to lose weight and as such have not been drinking, like at all. I have one or two reviews I really ought enter but it's just not the same when you don't have a beer in hand.
Beer Name: Deliverance Ale
Brewer: The Lost Abbey Style: American Strong Ale
ABV%: 12.5 IBU: ?
Glassware Used: Tulip Date Consumed: 12/10/2015
Body Color: Black Body Clarity: Muddy
Head Color: Medium Brown Head Appearance: Creamy
Head Size: Average Head Duration: Brief
Carbonation: Soft Lacing: Fair
Malt Flavor: Chocolate, Coffee
Hops Flavor: Herbal, Earthy
Misc Aroma: Bourbon, Brandy Misc Flavor: Bourbon, Brandy, Cinnamon, Oak, Vanilla
Balance: The barrels this beer was aged in are ever present but not overwhelming.
Drinkable: Deliverance was way too smooth for its own good. Short answer is yes.
Buy Again: I will be first in line when The Lost Abbey expands into my tri-state area.
As soon as the cork pops off Deliverance a gentle CO2 cloud creeps out of the bottle smelling faintly of bourbon and brandy. It pours a velvety black with a brown creamy head. Deliverance tastes of bourbon, brandy, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, oak and cinnamon.
This is an amazing beer. I rank it as probably the best beer I have ever had the joy of tasting. Other beers have been great because of circumstances surrounding the tastings (special friends, special locations...) but Deliverance knocked my socks off while I sat in my living room and I started drinking it slightly skeptical because I have held the thought of this beer on a pedestal for so long that I was afraid it would let me down. It did not.

One Solid Thumb Up
A slight change in formatting has occurred.
I will no longer be trying to fully document every beer that I consume, some will be graded only on a thumbs up scale. I have found that fully reviewing every beer is too much and I have started reconsidering whether I really want a beer since I will have to take the time to review it. Isn’t beer for enjoying after all? It should not feel like work when drinking a beer. I will still be fully reviewing the more special beers in my cellar.

Buy Again: If I can get my hands on this limited release I would like to give it another go.
Caution! Contains Real Pumpkin!!! is a boozy delight and I came in to this really skeptical. See I really hate everything pumpkin related so when I received this bottle I thought “oh great here we go.” Let me tell you, in C!CRP!!! the pumpkin is so subdued that it is negligible. Bourbon smacks you the minute you take a sniff followed by a warm inviting vanilla under tone. On the tongue bourbon leads the way followed by vanilla, barley, cinnamon, and finally pumpkin. Overall this was a great Halloween treat!
Beer Name: Space Station Middle Finger
Brewer: 3 Floyds Brewing Co. Style: American Pale Ale
ABV%: 6.0 IBU: 50
Glassware Used: Snifter Date Consumed: 10/31/2015
Body Color: Gold Body Clarity: Sparkling
Head Color: White Head Appearance: Foamy
Head Size: Average Head Duration: Brief
Carbonation: Medium Lacing: Fair
Malt Flavor: Cereal
Hops Aroma: Citrus, Lemon, Orange Hops Flavor: Citrus, Lemon, Orange
Balance: Balanced Drinkable: Yes
Buy Again: No
Space Station Middle Finger is a balanced, if not slightly hoppy, beer. It is crisp and bright but left something to be desired, I think it plateaus too early and the hops could have built to a slightly stronger crescendo.
In my opinion Space Station Middle Finger is not 3 Floyds best effort but they cannot win them all.
Beer Name: Saber Tooth Tiger
Brewer: Rhinegeist Brewery Style: American Double/Imperial IPA

Malt Flavor: Biscuit, Cereal
Hops Aroma: Resin Hops Flavor: Citrus, Resin
Misc Aroma: Alcohol Misc Flavor: Alcohol
Balance: Hoppy Drinkable: Yes
Buy Again: Yes
Saber Tooth is a mean kitty. It leads with a resinous nose which follows through to the taste. In the mouth a nondescript citrus note, from the hops, along with slight malt flavors and the alcoholic backbone make themselves apparent, especially as the beer warms.
I must say that I did not taste the mango and other jungle fruits described on Saber Tooth Tiger’s label but it is still a tasty treat.
Beer Name: Blushing Monk

Buy Again: If my wife requests it again.
My wife likened Blushing Monk to a raspberry soda with some alcohol mixed in. I tend to agree with that statement but I found it to too think and syrupy.
Du Claw's Sweet Baby Jesus, oh yeah!

Carbonation: Medium Lacing: Good
Malt Flavor: Grain, Straw
Hops Flavor: Citrus, Floral, Herbs
Yeast Aroma: Funk Yeast Flavor: Funk, Soap
Balance: Funk Drinkable: Kind of
Buy Again: I will be trying other Dupont beers before I decide to buy Vielle Provision again.
So much has been said about Brasserie Dupont and though this beer was good I hate to say that it did not live up to the hype. The funk was strong with Vielle Provision. It tasted of straw and grains, citrus herbs and flowers and again the barnyard funk was everywhere. Unfortunately some of the funk tasted of soap and that is just a character in beer that I cannot abide. I believe that that is why I was less that thrilled with Vielle Provision.
Beer Name: Curmudgeon
Brewer: Founders Brewing Co. Style: Old Ale
ABV%: 9.8 IBU: 50
Glassware Used: Tulip Date Consumed: 8/28/15
Body Color: Copper Body Clarity: Sparkling
Head Color: Light Brown Head Appearance: Foamy
Head Size: Average Head Duration: Lengthy
Carbonation: Soft Lacing: Fair
Malt Aroma: Caramel, Molasses, Toffee Malt Flavor: Caramel, Molasses, Toffee
Misc Aroma: Vanilla Misc Flavor: Alcohol, Oak, Vanilla
Balance: This is a malty beer. Drinkable: Yes
Buy Again: I probably will buy this each time it is released.
Curmudgeon is a boozy thick beer and that becomes ever more apparent as it warms. At first its smooth and tastes of caramel and toffee with hints of molasses. As it warms slight vanilla and oak notes begin to hide behind the alcohol. I have three more bottles that I plan on cracking open every three months to see if anything changes.
