For the final I utilized Kieth Haring’s art approach and the week where we designed an artwork on social media and then had to create it. The artwork I created using Instagram was a very abstract piece with colored lines and a flower in the middle. I felt it matched the same vibes as Haring. I used a figure from a basic piece he has done and put that in the center. I used paint and markers to create this piece.

For this assignment I chose to utilize one of Keith Haring’s works. I recreated the work of Dolphin Ride. I thought this was a super fun and vibrant piece of his art that really stuck out to me when researching about him. I used chalk in a multitude of colors so it would pop on the pavement. I really enjoyed doing this assignment because of how unique it truly was.

The teardrop shape is rounded on one end and pointed on the other. It has long symbolized emotion, especially sorrow or transformation. It appears in art, jewelry, and architecture for its graceful look. In science, it is known as one of the most aerodynamic shapes used in cars, planes, and nature to reduce drag. Across cultures, it blends beauty and function, making the symbol both meaningful and practical.

For this week’s assignment, I found a Tarte lip plump advertisement in my magazine. I went with the phrase “No Filler Needed” because I just found it funny. I used markers for the background to make it super bright and fun. Then added smiley faces with sharpie for extra design and it seemed funny because it is a lip product.

For this assignment I utilized my sunset lamp which creates a yellow glow. I knew I wanted to use shadows to create an image and this poster gave me that ability. I wanted there to be a shadow of a hand which appears to be picking a flower.

For this weeks assignment, I was able to find a crushed up plastic cup in the grass. This seems to be the cups available at the smoothie station in the dining hall. I heavily cleaned the cup the in sink and while I was doing so I was trying to think what to make. I decided to go with a fish tank kind of feel because that is what the water made me think of. I used Crayola washable paint which was successful even though I was unsure because they are water based. This assignment definitely made me go outside my comfort zone, because I am a germaphobe but I loved the finished product.

I love how easy it is to erase when digitally creating but it makes me strive for more perfection with each line. Working with my hands allows for the artwork to be super unique and working around mistakes.

Right off the bat I noticed that both artists used the complementary colors blue and yellow. I also thought both pieces had an abstract feel. I loved the cow and the other piece seemed to give off a vibe of an orange so I ran with it. I created my piece focusing on the colors orange and blue to make it more cohesive.

For my fashion outfit I decided to try and incorporate the complimentary colors I chose for this week. I decided to use the complimentary colors green and red because green is my favorite color. I thought the red coat was perfect and I added green pants. I also added red sun glasses to complete the look and the perfume was for a fun addition.
