Hey all, just popping in one last time to say goodbye! I am officially cutting my last ties with Tumblr and will probably not return. If any of my old Tumblr friends are still around, here’s a quick life update--I graduated college with a degree in animation in 2019, got a job as a storyboard artist at Warner Bros Animation, and moved to Los Angeles. Four and a half months later, Covid hit and I ended up moving back in with my family and have been working from my parents’ basement. Not exactly the first year in the industry that I was expecting, but I’ve been able to keep my job through the pandemic, stay healthy, and spend time with my family, so all things considered life is pretty good. If you want to keep in touch, you can find me at: meganrika.com, Instagram, or Twitter (though the twitter is debatable, I haven’t really figured out how to use it and I’m rarely on there). You can also see my name in the credits of season 2 of DC Super Hero Girls...whenever that comes out lol I just draw storyboards, I don’t know anything that goes on with the scheduling.

Hi! So I got accepted to an art high school which I'll be attending next year. The acceptance rate is pretty low and I feel so proud that I got in but I also feel really guilty when I see the work of others who also were accepted. I feel like I'm not good enough and am wondering how I got in, because I still struggle on many things. I don't really know if I am worthy of going.

That’s so exciting! Congrats! I felt the same way when I got into the animation program here at BYU… I still feel like that sometimes haha. Impostor syndrome is definitely a real thing. I just try be my personal best and not spend too much time comparing myself to others.
