🌸I am alive! Work's just been work- I have some replies I need to still work on in my drafts <3
“Oh, dear, what an awkward situation. I had hoped it was merely due to some oversight. Well, in that event, I'd best be on my way.”
Maleficent and Diablo in Sleeping Beauty (1959)
There had been a good reason the shrine had been long forgotten- a shrine with a statue of a winged fair was in the middle of it all. One of familiarity. From her long, tall, stature; to the horns that weaved itself into its own shape. The statue's face, while half hidden by vines- could easily still be made out. Her cheeks curved in- thin lips. But her eyes were the most telling of all despite how worn down they looked now. Within the grasp of the long forgotten woman's hands was an old wooden bowl that was rotting away from weathering.
The air, however, suddenly chilled- as a certain wingless fairy watched from a distance; recognizing the prince almost immediately. Could you blame her? After all that 'heroism', he still dared to step foot within her long abandoned land? Maleficent rose from the arm of a tree she has nested in for the time being- eyes flashing dangerously as her voice booms throughout the rotting shrine.
"I suggest you turn back now, my dear Prince."
The flightless fairy's normally regal voice was laced with coldness. Malice.
the voice was familiar to him, how could it not be when he still occasionally heard it in his dreams. or nightmares, depending on how it all ended. his grip tightened around the blade in his hand, and the complexion of his knuckles suddenly became paler than it had ever been. the abandonment of the shrine began to make sense to the prince, for who would want to worship the one who cursed a mere babe? innocent and unoffending, yet somehow the evil fairy had found a reason to be offended.
phillip stepped away from the stone, wanting more than anything to reexamine it with a fresh set of eyes, but his nerves were firing constantly and his fear was prevalent. it was no time to let his guard down, especially if he didn't know where the sorceress was.
he was only a boy the last time he'd seen maleficent, but even then the young prince's view had been greatly obstructed by the long billowing cloak his father had tried to hide him behind. she was an enemy he knew nearly nothing about—except that possessed enormous power. and was all too eager to quash innocence.
was this her home or simply a place where she came to be alone? he pondered silently. surely she'd never been disturbed here before. or was it something more sinister? was she here because she'd already found the princess and finished what she'd begun nearly sixteen years ago? the fear slowly began to drain from within him, replaced by something more substantial. " do you not have more pressing matters to attend to? " the prince quipped back, projecting his voice, still not sure where hers had come from.
The green skinned fairy only narrowed her eyes at the Prince's quip- wrong move. After all, the prince was from a different kingdom; one she simply didn't care about or held much ill will towards. She was going to offer him mercy to leave. But now? Maleficent could hold a grudge- for many. Many years. Ever since the kingdom turned away from her and other factors, her heart grew pale. Cold. Only small rays of warmness shone through. Not to mention that the Mistress of proclaimed evil didn't have to show the small child any mercy; cursing her to sleep in a deathlike state and never wake up. But did turn around and say that there is a chance to wake her up. Pathetic true loves kiss.
"I suggest you hold your tongue, Your Highness."
With a wave of her staff, Maleficent's form soon was behind the prince- keeping distance. As if knowing he might try to take a swing. Like the fool he is.
"May I remind you that I could so easily harm you, child."
Maleficent!

"Flower gleam and glow, let your power shine..."
"Your efforts are futile..."
It was a hushed voice that drew from up top a nearby tree- the only thing other than the glow coming from Gothel's hands that broke through the darkness was the bright hues of the fae. Amusement gleamed in her eyes as she stared down the woman, lifting the back of her palm to her lips. How quaint. Yet another fellow cold blooded human Maleficent stumbled upon- but the chant she spoke of was quite the interest.
Squawking thundered through the night sky as a raven swoops down- yoinking whatever the hooded woman held in her hands before suddenly landing on the deity's extended hand. Maleficent only merely pulls the black feathered fiend close to her when he landed- humming as she carefully plucks the item from Dival's mouth.
"You don't need this...do you~?"
Of course it was a taunt.
Gothel had no time to react before the Sundrop was snatched away by the bird.
Gothel's heart stopped, as the raven plucked the flower and carried it back to the sudden voice.
"No!" Killing the flower would kill the gift from the sun.
"What have you done?"
The reaction from the old hag only made the mistress grin, tilting her head up with a sinister gaze- amused by the mortal's reaction. Almost like prey playing with its food. It was no question that Maleficent loved playing these mind games with humans; simply not resisting the urge to tamper with the story unfolding before her eyes. After all, her dearest Dival had informed her the king of Corona was out searching for the flower that the fae held in her hands.
"How interesting. A flower bloomed from the sun... You surely must've done some research, haven't you?" Maleficent mused, her red lips only curving up more.
"It would be a shame to crush it, but then again..." It was as if the green skinned woman knew the power of the flower. She could feel it within her finger tips, despite the magic trying to protect itself away. It was a game of debating... Crush it within her grasp- or. Make the woman more mad. Decisions decisions... Ultimately the wingless fairy handed the wilting flower back to her trusty raven and whispered for him to go. The dark winged bird took flight as the fairy slips from the tree, her shadow in the pale moonlight slowly but surely covering Gothel as she stared down.
"You wish to appear younger? You do not need a silly little plant to be that way." Maleficent slowly started to circle around the grey haired maiden, her staff hitting down on the soft ground below their feet.
"I could always grant that to you. Unless, of course, you'd rather do it the hard way."
Curses died on Gothel's tongue, her mother had taught her enough to recognize a faerie when she saw one, and Gothel knew better than to insult a fae.
If that were not enough, the faerie's words piqued Gothel's interest enough to hold her tongue.
"If you were to grant me that you would require something in return no doubt."
"Something in return?" The fairy oddly questioned, though suppressing the idea that the woman before her seemed... interested. Though with the thought of the sun flower, the one the mistress had told her dear Dival to fly off, with came to mind; with the sun, there was always the moon. Regal. Beautiful. But so often associated with darkness and cruelty. A smirk tugged on the deity's lips as she gazed down towards Gothel.
"Why. What an offer I simply can't refuse. Especially if you would like to get your youth back... Follow me if you wish. I suppose we could always make arrangements. But then again," Maleficent teased, "maybe you wouldn't mind succumbing to your age."
The horned fae turned, her staff tapping on the soft grass below with every step she took- almost as if challenging Gothel. Daunting even. Wanting to pull her in the further the green skinned woman got away. As if waiting to have her bite the enticing apple of looking younger again.
🌸 Didn't think I'd have to post this, but I do really strongly encourage someone if you want to interact with me- to follow me?
🌸It's not me begging for follows; but it's just if you interact with a post in character I can understand that you're genuinely seeking interest in my character and not some one off roleplay because you're bored (which, I mean valid, but still)
🌸It's just for my lil pea brain understanding that you genuinely want to interact with me! /Gen

in the distance, phillip could still hear the trickle of the stream he'd just crossed. it flowed gently, the edges suffering from extreme overgrowth as was everything in the once sacred place. he couldn't help but wonder who'd been here last and how long it'd been since someone came with the intention of worship.
he pulled a dagger from his belt as he approached the marvelous structure and began to cut away some of the vines. they wrapped around the stones as though their only goal was to suffocate and destroy. the prince didn't even know who the temple was dedicated to and he was eager to learn more even if the rest of the world seemed to have forgotten this place.

This has been on my mind for long but I’m gonna do this - please reblog this if you’re comfortable with pre-establishing relationships. I do not mean “met at the grocery store two weeks ago” or “have a common friend”, but rather stuff like “have been best friends since kindergrden”, “go for a beer every friday”, “friends with benefits”, “dated in highschool”, “hate each other’s guts because -insert reason-” etc. Something meaningful (but not necessarily shippy) and I mean with muns/characters you have not interacted with, because I cannot believe I am the only one who prefers jumping right into the heart of the human interaction.
‘ may i help you? ’ (from Aurora)
The tall, lean woman's eyes snapped down to the blonde princess- eyes widening briefly before they narrowed into a skeptical gaze. The princess was the last person she would expect, and would ever want, to bump into deep within the woods. Pushing her back slightly more up against the tree she resided in, her eyes flashed- staring Aurora down with a fierce look.
"Beasty." Was all the Mistress of evil said. Tilting her head up to look far more regal. And far more intimidating.
"My name is Briar Rose," The poor naïve child, she did not realize the danger she was in.
The Three Good Fairies she knew as her aunts had told her nothing of her true identity or of Maleficent and her curse, only not to talk to strangers, but she'd seen the tall, elegant woman before, deep in the forest, so she wasn't a stranger really.
"What's your name?"
Maleficent could only silently scold the three doofuses in her head as she glanced up to the sky with a brief annoyed look. Of course they wouldn't teach the young girl well about talking to strangers, that one you may see around constantly could still be dangerous. Could still hurt you. The fairy knew all too well- yet swallowed her disgust with what she was about to do.
"Well, sweet child, my name is Maleficent." It already felt wrong to greet the girl even a bit warmly. But alas- her plan was in motion; it even offered the villain a gateway to getting the princess far closer to her fate. After all, it was only a month away from her 16th birthday.
"I'm assuming you have seen me around, no?"

@mefxicanelt continued from here: (x)
"I wasn't referring to the throne." She'd stumbled upon Maleficent by chance, but she wasn't shocked the wicked fae was here, she saw her so often in her nightmares it wasn't surprising in the slightest.
"I don't give a damn about the throne, I want my daughter back, I've already missed so much time with her. Please end the curse, I have suffered enough."
A harsh look falls across the fae's face, causing her to abruptly rise from the throne she tauntingly sat upon. Her eyes hardened with each step she took forward- backing her Majesty closer to one of the walls within the throne room.
"You should have thought of that sooner."
Maleficent's eyes were harsh. Cold. Lifeless. Just like the heart that once resided in the green fairy that had turned to stone. All due to the very beings she had once thought of as her friends showing their true colors. She did give the kingdom a second chance; only to be shown that no one cared. Not even the sweet queen that Stephen married offered the wingless woman kindness until her baby was threatened.
"I have warned you once, Leah. I have given your kingdom a second chance...alas," the deity leans over the moon queen- growing quiet before flicking a strand of hair away from the blonde's face. Pathetic, really.
"Your kind has shown me you all do not show any love. Compassion. Respect. Unless it is to save yourselves." In a sense, humanity was just as dark and cruel as she. If not, worse. The fairy didn't need to show their daughter mercy, yet she did. Provided true love did exist.
"In my eyes, you haven't suffered enough."
"Haven't you taken enough from me?" (From Queen Leah)
"Hmmm, have I~?"
Maleficent's eyes narrow towards the queen, sitting upon the throne at this unholy hour of the night. It was a surprise the queen was even awake. The taller fae rests her head on her hand, as she stares at the queen- almost as if challenging her silently to do something. Anything. Honestly the fae expects her to yell for the guards... It'd be useless, yes, but still.
"Last time I checked, your Majesty, I'm simply just... Sitting here~"

"No."
It was such a quick and snappy response from the deity, eyes narrowing down at the other as she holds onto the top of her staff with one hand- sharp nails red nails on display. As if reminding one that she could indeed hurt them. Wounded or not, the wingless fairy was nobody to mess with regardless of a little prince piercing her heart.
"No," she reiterated, "you are a fool."
