are labour the devil? no. but they are moderates, they are neoliberals, they are invested in too-high house prices and have explicitly said they do not want them to drop, nor do they seem particularly alarmed about the coalition’s constant attacks on our democracy (remembering labour opened the door for some of this abuse during their term), and just like national they underpay the public workers that make up 1/4 of our national workforce, they underfund health, they would rather work with a fascist Winston Peters over a disorganised Maori Party, and most of all, they will not create the change this country needs nor the momentum that builds to such a change. they are white-bread faux-socialist institutionalists who yes will provide a better government than the right ever will, but at the end of their term will hand the reigns back with democracy unstablised, our budget unexpanded, our taxation insufficient, and our society increasingly inequal, because their pathetic middle-road polices are not enough to stem the tides of oligarchy that are enveloping the Western world
