"I am!" Diavolo exclaimed. He could not believe Barbatos was making him redo things. "My handwriting is perfectly legible. There's nothing wrong with this."

He picked up the sheet and put it back in the pile of finished work with a huff. Barbatos looked on in disappointment. "I ask you to refrain from writing like that on future documents," he requested. "It is a time sink and you know that certain nobles are sure to voice their displeasure."

Diavolo ignored his butler's pessimism. "Let them complain. I think it's fun."

It was a unique human world technique he had learned from his favorite human, after all. Sure, it took significantly longer to write an S with that many lines, but that's why it was reserved especially for the beginning of paragraphs. It added a certain elegance to his otherwise dull records. Diavolo hoped that using this script would further bridge the two cultures. Or at the very least, make writing all these reports much less monotonous.
