There was a certain extent to which Narcissa had to admit that she was both clueless and surprised over her own decision to come there. The need had been strong, the fact that she missed her sister undeniable and yet something she refused to voice out loud. Her eyes trailed, watching the little child with a mix of curiosity and confusion. It wasn't that she was surprised to see her, fully aware of the existence of Dora but an uncertainty as to how to feel about her. If this was any other situation, Dora would have been the most adorable niece and yet it felt like glancing upon a stranger.
For a moment she stared, unsure as to which words to pick. If this had been anything even remotely more planned than the spontaneous need driving her to come and drop in, unannounced for a visit, perhaps it would have been easier. "I wanted to see you." See how you've been. "She is,...-" The witch hesitated for a moment. "Adorable." This felt harder than anything else ever had; ever would.
Andromeda tried to reach out, but soon enough after she tried she was met with silence and she understood that she was not supposed to contact any of her sisters again. She had tried to let them know that it wasn't her choosing Ted over her family, but she couldn't let their mother choose for her regarding Dora, not when Dora had become something that Andromeda didn't dare to imagine not having in her life.
She made sure that her child was away, that she was out of danger, in case this was nothing more than a random visit.
Andromeda wanted to believe that her sister had come to see her, but she didn't dare to hope for more than a few polite words.
"She is, more than you imagine." she offered, "Why did you wanted to see me?" shr didn't want to be so direct, but if she softened up she might get hurt.
