Father's Day for Robert is a complicated thing. Before his death, it was a kinda begrudging thing where he would call him and either leave a voicemail (best scenario) or willingly subject himself to a conversation where he's left feeling kinda pressured into performing the 'perfect son'. Never really got to have a conversation with him about the M.echa-Man pressure.
After his death, he feels an odd sense of relief that he can 'ignore' it while feeling guilty that he feels that way.
Though, of course, a part of him thinks this kind of dynamic with his dad is normal as he's always put superhero work above him. (So, he's always mildly surprised when he talks about his dad and people look at him like he's grown an extra limb...)
