Ezekiel, a young irish-american who has recently inherited his grandfather's farm in South Carolina, starts his day by checking his net across the nearby stream. He finds no fish, but instead a young, clay-skinned man. He gets angry at the young man for fouling his net, and the trapped man begins to panic. He explains that he is Enoree, a river spirit, and he can try to grant Zeke a wish if he'll let him out of his net. Once he understands that Enoree is really trapped, Zeke is apologetic and lets him out of the net. While Enoree is thanking Zeke and explaining the limits of the wish, Zeke gives Enoree the ol' up and down and is in love at first sight. He only tunes in to hear Enoree ask what he wants and he blurts out that he wants to get married. Enoree assumes Zeke means to get married to a woman, and sets out to find him a wife. First he encounters a woman too shocked at his nudity who runs away, then a woman too enamored with him to even hear about Zeke. He gets one woman to meet with Zeke but accidentally describes him in only backhanded compliments. About a week later, they sit by the river while Enoree laments his failure at granting Zeke's wish. Zeke insists that it's no big deal, because he enjoyed spending the time with Enoree. Enoree still pleads for a chance to do Zeke a favor, and Zeke asks for a kiss. Enoree is happy with the simple request, and they make out. Enoree pulls back to find Zeke hard and dazed. He asks if Zeke wants to do more, and Zeke can only nod. He laughs but moves to rub Zeke's erection through his clothes, saying that he didn't need to be married if he just wanted to have sex with someone. Zeke tries to protest, but Enoree stops him with a kiss. Enoree undresses them, and once naked Zeke confesses he's never done more than kiss. Enoree's a little surprised but decides he'll take the lead and guide Zeke through it. He preps and enters Zeke. He rubs the head of Zeke's erection while speaking to him, saying that while this isn't the normal way to do things, Zeke will last well during sex with his future wife. Zeke, reminded of his failure to communicate (that he wanted to marry Enoree) earlier, flips them over into the muddy riverbank. He declares that Enoree is the only person he's been wanting to marry and then kisses him and begins to ride him so that he can't respond. Enoree is incoherent once his mouth is set free, and he comes soon after. Zeke kisses him again and finishes himself off. Enoree asks if Zeke was serious and Zeke assures him he was, begging him further to come live with him and be with him forever. Enoree plays down his happiness and says he’ll try and grant that wish at least. They embrace, with the last scene being of them back in Zeke's cabin. Enoree sits in a wash tub while Zeke sits beside him and feeds him grapes.
