Leeloo’s emotions were getting the better of her today. It wasn’t like her to not have a lot of energy, but today she’d felt very subdued. Not long after she’d retired to bed to take a nap, she’d awoken with a start and rolled right out of the bed, taking half the blankets with her. Yelping and flailing in a rather uncoordinated fashion, she fussed just enough to pull the blankets off her head, and then sat there looking dejected, her eyes welling up with tears.

She looked up at Charlotte when she came to check on her, her bottom lip curling as Charlotte asked what had happened. Leeloo sighed heavily, ratting off a whole lot of Divinian before gathering her thoughts enough to speak some English. “Me iksethatelo deno. Denoo mino assin. Me bankitéman kilen'poulana deno. I… I worry… for my sister. I want to keep you safe. What if I can’t?”

It wasn’t until she had been asked what was wrong that she realized exactly what it was. Leeloo had been so lonely before she met Charlotte. She was a dear friend, and that she was a distant relation only made her value her even more. But with that love came the fear that something might happen to Charlotte. What if those who had captured them both found her again? Would Leeloo be able to protect Charlotte? She had never doubted herself before as far as intelligence or fighting ability, but her friendship with Charlotte made her afraid enough of losing that bond that she doubted herself in the process.
