Yesterday I was having lunch and on the TV someone played this song. I'd never seen before the video and I loved it. For starters it's really odd to see a video for a song that we dance in modern TV, but more because it's amazing and was done in 1970!

"I’m Crazy ‘Bout my Baby" by Louis Armstrong
If any of you aren’t familiar with these dancers, you need to come out from the rock you have clearly been living under and spend some time on Youtube. And then find a workshop they are teaching at and register.
They are so well known for a reason! They are wonderful dancers and teachers and so incredibly nice. They have taught some of my favorite classes that I have ever taken and have put on some of the greatest performances that I have ever seen. (Sharon especially - if you haven’t seen her burlesque, stop reading right now and go look it up. Then come back and tell me how right I am.)
I love this video particularly because it’s rare to see high quality footage of them basically social dancing. Yes, they are “performing,” as it is a demo, but this isn’t choreographed, they are just doing their thing and it’s awesome.
Even though they are partners and have been for years, they still manage to surprise each other in this song. They are both really responding to the music and there aren’t many dancers who can milk a count as well as they can. They make the most of every beat and they aren’t afraid to be still when the music calls for it. Their dancing is energetic and entertaining and totally musical without being overwhelming or too busy.
Also, I love a v-neck t-shirt on a man and Sharon is wearing my absolute favorite type of skirt for dancing. It makes the swivels go WHABAM but it doesn’t restrict your movement at all.
