where is your crown little prince? where did it go? did you lose it beyond the walls and cracks of your home? headcanon based . original portrayal . marauders era . severus snape . hexed by lua .
I’d seen Dr. Cullen before, of course, yet I couldn’t help but be struck again by his youth, his outrageous perfection. At his side was Esme, I assumed, the only one of the family I’d never seen before. She had the same pale, beautiful features as the rest of them. Something about her heart-shaped face, her billows of soft, caramel-colored hair, reminded me of the ingénues of the silent-movie era. She was small, slender, yet less angular, more rounded than the others. They were both dressed casually, in light colors that matched the inside of the house. They smiled in welcome, but made no move to approach us. Trying not to frighten me, I guessed.
Then a doctor walked around the corner, and my mouth fell open. He was young, he was blond… and he was handsomer than any other movie star I’d seen. He was pale, though, and tired-looking, with circles under his eyes. From Charlie’s description, this had to be Edward’s father.
Betrayal & Regret Sentence Starters
“I told you not to get too close to me.” “From the day we met, I knew I’d hurt you eventually.” “I wish you never had trusted me.” “I told you to leave, but you didn’t. I gave you the chance!” “We were never friends. I’m so sorry.” “I did something terrible.” “It was inevitable, but I regretted it every step of the way.” “I’m mainly sorry that somewhere along the way, I started to care about you.” “I guess this is a lesson in not trusting people, right?” “How long?…Since the beginning.” “I wish I could just make a wish and become a better person.” “None if it was real, but I wish it was.” “Do you think I liked hurting you?” “I hurt people. It’s all I’m good at.” “I did it because I had to, not because I ever wanted to.” “I -did- care about you, I just had no other choice.” “You should have walked away when you had the chance.” “If we had never met, it would have saved us both some grief.” “I know it hurts, but I’m still glad we had the chance to know each other.” “Hurting you was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.” “I didn’t want it to be like this, but I had no control!” “I guess I’ve just never been a trustworthy person.” “I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t want to forgive me either.” “So? Aren’t you going to say something?” “If I tell you what I did, we’ll probably never see one another again.”
“When were you going to tell me about this?” “Why me? Of all people, why me?” “You planned this all from the beginning?” “I wanted so badly to think you were different.” “How could you lead me along like that?” “None of what we had was ever real, was it?” “So, our friendship didn’t mean anything to you?” “I would have done anything for you, but you’ve ruined all of that.” “All of the things I sacrificed for you didn’t mean a thing?” “I wish I had known when we met that you were such a vile person.” “If I could go back, I would just walk away.” “I forgive you, but I’m not going to forget what you did.” “No. I don’t accept your apology.” “After all your lies, how do I know you mean it when you say you’re sorry?” “I hope you realized what you did was cruel.” “I still care about you.” “Just tell me that your feelings towards me were genuine.” “What on earth is worth betraying someone who loves you?” “If you want to regain my trust, you have to earn it.” “Don’t just say you’re sorry. Show me that you’re sorry.”

Their relationship is so wholesome
“Carlisle, Bella is what he wants. It will work out, somehow.” “You’re a hopeless romantic.”

Slender fingers glide e f f o r t l e s s l y over the keys of the piano, his own mind lost in thought as the melody flows from his hands. The song so familiar it almost feels like an extension of himself rather than something so separate, something so different. Music had always been special to him, something he kept close to the chest since he was human. Even in those time c l o u d e d memories of his youth, he remembers learning to play piano with his mother by his side. Her larger hands next to his small ones as they played her favorite songs. When he was sad, scared, upset or truly a n y other negative emotion, his mother would sit beside him and they would play. This is a tradition he continued long after his own death, and when he’d been gifted another chance. Another mother, he’d continued the tradition. Often playing for her, even if it was just to melt into the c o m f o r t a b l e silence of the room. It was a way to communicate, assure her of his own content without having to say it.
He notes the presence of his name within Esme’s thoughts, but does his best to allow her whatever level of p r i v a c y he can He tried to avoid the thoughts of his family, a sign of good faith. However, his adopted siblings tended to take it as more of a challenge to see how often they could annoy him. Esme never did that. The respect within their relationship had always been there, and it was only strengthened with love over the years. But regardless of his efforts, his mind’s ear often caught the p a s s i n g thoughts. His lips dip in a slight frown at the mere thought of Charles. But he attempts to refocus on the piano bellow his hands, his attention only shifting at the thought of his name, his chin lifting as he looks over to Esme. The movement is just as normal as if she’d actually spoken his name. His hands pause on the keys for only a beat before he begins to play again, this time falling into a different melody. One of the many songs he’d written for her before he replies out loud, ❛ It depends on the person, and how they think. I typically hear it in their voice, ❜ Edward’s eyes stay on her, t i l t i n g his head slightly as he considers his words, fingers still playing the f a m i l i a r progression, ❛ Most people I’ve come across think in a stream of consciousness. So it’s just a never-ending monologue. ❜
THE FAMILIAR MELODY REACHED HER AND immediately her whole mood brightened. There was nothing she l o v e d more than when Edward would play the songs he had written for her. It was still something she couldn't quite believe that he had written them for her, still completely floored by this o v e r w h e l m i n g love he seemed to show her through his songs. Sometimes, it made her feel guilty for not being able to give him something in return; only able to offer the gentle quietude of her mind as solace when everyone else's were just too loud. As he spoke to her, Esme closed her book giving him her full attention. Her golden eyes focused on him as she listened; tried to learn what he was trying to explain.
❛ It's been years, and I am still so starstruck by the fact that you can read minds. ❜ She let out a little giggle, shaking her head. It was interesting to learn about how he understood his gift, and as he mentioned how most people thought in s t r e a m s of consciousness, thoughts never-ending, Esme was a little glad he had not met her when she was younger. Adulthood had shaped her way of thinking. Whereas as a child, thoughts would pop into her mind like l i g h t n i n g ━ not concise, random ideas that often interrupted each other, as an adult she had learned to make them more linear. Not slower, for she was still much too bright, but now she could compartmentalise them. Which probably made things easier for Edward.
❛ To hear never-ending monologues all the time must be exhausting... ❜ Esme mused in sympathy, once again t h a n k f u l for her ability to sometimes shut every little thought out, hoping that perhaps he'd find it comforting. ❛ What do you do when it gets overwhelming? ❜

her lips purse, reminiscent of a child being scolded gently by their mother. less of the scolding and more of the thought of disappointing her souring the mood just enough to feel guilty. ❝ i didn’t say it was ‘the worst idea i’d ever heard’ . . i said it was one of the worst ideas i’d ever heard. archie’s exaggerating. ❞
SHE TRIED HER VERY HARDEST TO HIDE the amusement from her thoughts, and just as hard to keep it from making her s m i l e. Her children were the joy of her life, and yet they could also be quite tricky to deal with. So, with all the patience her 24-year-old self could muster, Esme let her golden eyes take in Edythe and the guilty look on her face. ❛ I see... ❜ She began, trying to keep her voice as soft and gentle as possible.
❛ Though It is still not a very nice way of dissuading your brother from his more... dangerous ideas, Edy ❜ Esme explained, and yes, it did feel a lot like she was speaking to a much younger child, but sometimes, it just felt right. Edythe could be too straight forward with her way of saying things, something that often upset Archie, who was more sensitive. ❛ So, have you thought of how you'll apologise to him? ❜
