tl;dr: taking a creator's content (be it fanart, fanfiction, edits or gifs) and reposting it without credit is a violation of tumblr's community guidelines and more importantly a complete lack of respect towards the original creator. if you want to use a gif to make a funny post, you're gonna have to make it yourself, or at the very least be a decent human being and credit the original creator.
