Steve sat there on his seat, alone, and checked his phone, smiling at the surprise message from Danny. He was still anxious about his decision, but he knew he needed some space, and also, knowing whatâs waiting for him when he comes back just made it all worth it, to comeback to his ohana, to his Danno.
[Screen fading; Theme song starts playing; Credits rolling, and thenâŠ]
Hawaii is shown, a great neighborhood in view, itâs raining lightly, a beautiful house in display with a gray Camaro parked there.Â
A taxi cab stops near, a tall man get out of it, Steve McGarrett, holding his jacket over his head to protect from the water pouring down on him, until he reaches the front door.
His heart is pounding fast, because he knows what heâs about to do, what heâs going to say, what he will confess, to the man on the other side of that door. Something he learned from being apart of his partner for so so long. But he couldnât be happier to do it.
ââDanno, the door!ââ, Steve can hear Charlie yelling from inside there. He canât help but smile at that sound. He missed hearing that boyâs voice in person, he missed hearing it from all Williams in person actually.
ââI heard it, buddy, Iâm on itââ. This time was Danny, and Steve felt like heâs going to faint there, his nerves screaming in anticipation. It has been almost 2 weeks since their last contact, and Steve hadnât given any clue to coming back so soon.
But he was there now, and he was going to stay.
âUncle Steve!!â, came a voice behind the blond there, who stood in place, trying to process if what he was seeing was real indeed.
ââHi, Dannoââ, the SEAL said finally, voice soft and warm smile on his face. And that was it, Danny didnât need to hear anything else, just hearing the man he always loved calling him âDannoâ like that was enough.
He hugged tight the SEAL before he could say anything else, not caring about the water from the rain. Charlie followed close, hugging both men from their waist.
Steve embraced it all, covering the smaller man with his arms, squeezing him even tighter like a promise to never ever be far from this man again. His heart ached from that contact, all the love inside him making him overwhelmed just by being with Danny again.
He knew that one of the most important conversations of his life wouldâve to happen eventually between them, but right now? he was glad to be home and finally, at peace, in the arms of the man he loves.
