you're all cooped up on his couch, folded up with a blanket on your lap, a troll version of serendipity pulled up but not playing yet, it rains outside on Alternia, cloudy, but regardless of the dangerous sun being hidden, the rain is literally acid, and you as a human having much less tougher skin than the average troll cannot be going outside in that weather, so you're sat in his room...or..he called it a respiteblock?..whatever, room, spacing off at the screen until he comes back, he narrows his eyes at you lumped over the arm of the couch half way before sitting down next too you, peering around, jostling you lightly from spacing out, making you look over at him.

"hm—?"

lifting your head and upper body off of the couch arm, trying to follow his gaze, head waving back and forth a bit to try and see what the hell he was looking at.

"what are yo—"

"THE REMOTE, ARE YOU SITTING ON IT???"

you shimmy up and the blanket plops too the floor, standing up on the couch before shifting one foot off onto the floor, and the remote was indeed under you, or more so covered up by your blanket covered legs, he gives you this half assed grin, it could almost be mistaken as a snarl but yknow..hes just got sharp teeth.

you settle back onto the couch, closer than before hand, but he doesnt comment, he doesnt move, he switches the movie on and you lean down to grab at the blanket you previously let slip off you in the midst of finding the remote, reaching down for it and your lower half goes up with weight disposition of your upper half leaning over and off the couch for the blanket, nearly subtly lobbing yourself off cushion before he reaches over and grabs on the back of your shirt to try and teather you down to cushion better.

you laugh awkwardly grabbing at the blanket and pushing yourself up from your hands, not enough leverage to go up and back, he watches your vauge struggling with a raised brow and a grin he wouldnt admit to having in the moment.

he keeps the hand there in your shirt but also leans in and loops an arm around your waist, tugging you back up onto the couch and effectively into his arms, you settle back and laugh, turning to him, settling the blanket over both of your laps and he just...stares, brows furrowed, eyes looking over your face.

if you didnt know better hed look frustrated at your ridiculous flailing, but you know better that its his way of giving a fond look, and you also dont miss how he hasnt moved both arms looped around you, essentially holding you, your turn to give a dumb smile.

"smooth moves—"

"SHUT UP."

hes moved away from sheer embarrassment, arms shifting away and crossing over his chest, side glaring you with a feigned grimace on his face.

kinda can't not laugh at his demeanor, you settle up against him anyway, he goes stiff for a moment before relaxing and loosening his arms, staring at his face like your trying to nudge another reaction out of him, he rolls his eyes and his 'angry' attitude falters and he just scoffs, smiling and he gestures to the screen, shaking his head a bit

"JUST WATCH THE MOVIE, IM GONNA HAVE TO REWIND IT."

you give a pleasing hum, headbutting his shoulder lightly, as you lay against him, looking to the screen as he rewinds the movie back a bit, but hes giving you that side glance again, giving in and draping an arm over your relaxed form, mumbling something along the lines of 'you're a damn dork' under his breath, intentionally or not you heard it, smiling slyly, the movie plays up its beginning intro and you lay by him, watching it.

hes seen this film a measly 5 plus times, probably more if we're being honest, he keeps stealing glances at you, but he ends up watching the movie, he ends up subconsciously brushing his fingers against your head, his little nails against your hairline, tracing it without much though, to him he's just unknowingly fidgeting, but its rather soothing.

who knew someone so loud and often disgruntled could be so gentle?

soothing enough you find your eyes drifting a bit, unfocused but facing the screen, tuned in too the slow, almost natrual touch he traces against what is essentially your forehead and temples, middle and ring finger drawing back and forth over the spot, eyes getting droopy, head already rested against him.

doesnt help that the troll is very warm, its due to his blood color but he is a space heater under this blanket, and it lulls you, that kinda sleepy were you dont even realize your eyes are closed, breathing steadying out and falling asleep right there as hes just lost in the movie for the umpteenth time.

later on once the movie draws too its end he goes to speak, his hand smoothing over your head, sorta tilting your head back, head leaning down, blinking at you.

"SO HOWD YOU‐ OH—"

he immediately purses his lips, watching you lightly stir in your slumber, he does just have a rather boisterous voice, wouldnt take a lot of him talking to wake someone, he stills again like when you first rested against him, but he eases back into it, he sorta connects the dots you must've fallen asleep with him essentially petting you, and he smiles too himself at the thought...but now he also realizes he cannot move.

doesnt wanna move—

so he settles back against the couch and leans his head on yours, tucking your head under his chin, basking in the shared warmth that was the shared blanket and vaguely oddly positioned snuggling.

For the sake of a misson, Corvin has to wear a dress as a gag, listen, he's already got long hair, and despite his build, he has a stupid little waist, and Dazai would fully think this would be fool proof but he really didnt think of the consequences of seeing this man in a dress, he was ready to just laugh at Corvin wobbling about in heels, he was ready to find humor in it and instead when he watches Corvin appear with apprehensive mannerisms, long hair going over his shoulder and hanging in front of his face like it always had, hes even taller in those heels and his broad shoulders are exposed with the thick straps of the dress hung onto his trap muscles and behind his neck, smirk just draining from Dazais face as he looks this man up and down, cause once again he was so so ready to just laugh it up, but he feels himself wildly caught off gaurd, 'it hugs his silhouette-frames his collarbones–..has his chest always looked this nice—?' hed so spiral a bit, staring and Corvin just gets more unnerved from being stared at, hell even he was expected to be laughed at and of course like clockwork Dazai would indeed laugh, like it was a automatic thing, it slips and his eyes crinkle and he folds over a bit, he internally doesnt even find this funny! not anymore! not when he feels this way about it! but all he can find himself doing is laughing about it, smiling at him, when in reality he wants the floorboards to open up and swallow him whole, he laughs.

Corvin eases up. He expected this. The familiar always feels comforting, he adjusts some of his hair with his hand, and puts it back into place, one side slightly slicked back, and he smiles too, he shakes his head with feigned disbelief.

Dazai on the other hand as he covers his mouth as some made up way to hide his smile, maybe on Corvins end to spare him the theatrics of him being laughed at but Dazai just doesn't want Corvin to peer in too close and notice his ears are getting red, or that his eyes are lingering a bit to long on his frame.. he doesn't even like Corvin that way! This is just his reunited friend—...coworker! not like they ever shared moments of raw vulnerability in their misspent youth—..or catered to one another in strange and honest ways that neither of them bring up to this day!— especially cause one has memory lapses that make this all the more unbearable.

Corvin is talking, and Dazai is absently listening, Corvin doesn't look at him, as he's rather embarrassed with his current attire. it's just for a misson, 'undercover' as Dazai put it, and the bastard is smiling, grinning like an idiot, once again, to Corvin it just seems hes rather amused and pleased with the embarrassment that rolls off Corvin in waves, but honestly its some second hand motion, his thought parallel it, the smile.

'god, he actually went threw with this? he actually looks nice.., the dress looks nice. its a nice red color. fits his hair nice....the hair color, his hair color looks nice with the red—"

mentally foiling himself to discern this feeling, it's a strange mixture he can't quite digest, and Corvin speaks, and hes saying something about the misson..

something–

eyes narrowing as he stares at Corvin still. He can feel the subtle tense in his jaw as he tightens his bottom teeth to his top ones

'Has he always looked like this? it's just the dress.

and his hair.

maybe the way his eyes droop a little bit?

can I think of him like this?

in this dress of course.

not like id think of him like this outside of it!'

He snorts and breaks into that laughter again and Corvin is cut off hair lightly floofing up in surpise and vauge misunderstanding

"What? what'd i say? what's so funny?"

"nothing!! nothing..!"

and it'd be said with that smile. He just can't help it, its infuriating.

"Yeah, okay, sure, what are you thinking of?"

Dazai has never wanted to flee a room more than now, he just cant stop smiling, he shakes his head and his mouth speaks for him

"you just look ridiculous is all"

Corvin would roll his eyes and crack a smile, and he does that nervous stim habit, and runs his hand threw his hair again and it takes the hair spilled over his shoulder and brings it back, it shows all of his face, and exposes the straps of the dress, and Dazai wants to curse out his own subconscious for admiring the way the sun seeps in from the window and dances against the skin of his brown skin..did he put makeup on??

"what is that on your face??"

it almost sounds judgemental. It's a real question, though, Corvins scoffs and turns his head away more, he didnt even have time to consult the other thing he just said about him looking ridiculous, and he covers Dazai's face from his view like a 'if I cant see you, you cant see me' gesture

Somehow this motion adds to the turmoil of Dazai's thought process, and he keeps smiling, for two things

'Wow, how adorable. He's trying to hide from me, I bet he's blushing like he always does..'

and

'What has possessed me to think these things, have i been drugged??????'

and yet like he's being puppeted, he moves closer and gets into Corvins' field of vision, Corvin babbles out a reason

"well—! I didnt just wanna toss on a dress, arent I supposed to be playing a part???.."

laughter erupts from Dazai again. He finds Corvin conforming to the role humorous, only partly, as the second half is deeply unnerved from how much he enjoys this, more so that he can't discern if he has always felt this way..or if seeing him in a dress just kicked the blocks into his acknowledgement, has he always felt this way? about his coworker?? his returned friend from youth? has his eyes always been that color? no way he was this easy on the eyes—! no way that smile has always been so refreshing to see—! there's just no way‐

It's just Corvin in drag— it just the way he's seemingly comfortable in it. He's not tense, just a little embarrassed at being in something he's usually not in, and of course Dazai poking fun at him.

Corvin palms Dazais face and scoots him away with a soft grumble, a dismissive sound the bird man makes as a 'go away' sorta thing

Dazai blurts out. Maybe it's the split moment of him not seeing Corvin, but it slips out anyway.

"you look really pretty actually—"

"What???"

Disbelief no longer feigned, Corvin raises a brow, and now its his turn to smile, corner of his mouth curling up a tad, a lopsided grin.

Dazai mentally buffers, and now that he's said it, he must run with it, he cannot let this slip any further than it has and he contuines

"pretty dumb!"

followed by a laugh as Corvins face drops, unamused, scoffing softly and realizing his leg is being pulled, but in all actually the man who resides in a damn dress realizes nothing because Dazai has remained unseen in his true thoughts.

the thoughts that are still currently winding in circles of denial followed by soft affection followed by more denial.

safe to say it'd be a weird mission for them both, Corvin cause he realizes how much he can get away with appearing as a woman, that its a convincing look, and he honestly doesnt feel bad in it either.
