1967 Ford Fairlane – Built to Drive, Built to Thrill

This ‘67 Fairlane is the second of three cars in the lineup Jamie Cooper registered, and it’s a special one. The owner, a true enthusiast with a collection of beautifully restored classics, wanted this car to be different—not just a showpiece, but something he could drive and enjoy.

At the heart of the build is a legendary 427 SOHC (Cammer) that the owner had and wanted to see come alive in this project. To make it road-friendly and truly fun behind the wheel, they paired the big-block beast with a Tremec TKX 5-speed transmission, offering smooth shifting and a highway-friendly overdrive gear.

Out back, GearFX built a Moser 4.10 rear end, and they tied it together with a 4-link rear suspension setup for traction and control. Up front, the steering and suspension were completely updated using a TCI front clip, giving the Fairlane modern handling to match its raw power.

🚨 MERCURY SPOTLIGHT 🚨 This 1967 Mercury Cyclone is one of just 8 built, and the only one with its specific option combo, verified by the Marti Report. A stunning restoration of a 14,000-mile original, this car swept every major award in the 1990s — then vanished from the show scene for over two decades.

Now it’s back — just as it rolled off the line, with steel wheels and poverty caps. A rare piece of Mercury muscle history reborn.

At the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals show we host some of the most significant and very real Corvettes every November, the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Irwin Kroiz is a long time supporter of what we do. Every year he joins us with show-stopping cars from his collection.

This year Irwin will be joining us November 22-23 with the #49 "Stars and Stripes Corvette L88 racer that was driven by Don Yenko, Robert R. Johnson, John Greendyke, Dick Smothers and John Greenwood. It was raced at LeMans and Sebring and today, it has been restored by Kevin Mackay and the Corvette Repair team out of New York.

Congrats go out to Shelby Hall and Rory Lewis on completing the Rebelle Rally this past week for SHO Racing.
