It was almost funny how fast a good day could turn so sour. There was nothing wrong with the day when you woke up, aside from being held back from running the Maze. Instead, you were tasked with heading to the gardens to help the others.
You wondered what wouldâve happened had Alby let you go into the Maze that day.
The morning went fine, although Newt was nowhere to be found. When you first realized it after breakfast, you brushed off the small amount of worry that began to burrow into your chest before saying goodbye to Ben and Minho. After that, you headed to the gardens with Zart to help figure out how to get rid of the insects that were eating through the tomatoes and herbs. Everything had gone so smoothly that you would never have believed that something bad was going to happen.
Just as you were bringing in a fresh bucket of fertilizer from the forest, you heard it. Echoing from inside the walls, tunneling into the Glade, was screaming. At first, you didnât know what to think, or what was happening. The screams had caught the attention of every Glader, who, just like you, had stopped what they were doing to investigate.
The screams only got closer, and you registered them to be Minhoâs voice, calling out for help. Worry sparked in your chest, your heart beating unreasonably fast. Just as you began to wonder what happened, the Runner stumbled into the Glade. Beside him, limply resting all his weight on the boy, legs dragging along the ground, was Newt.
Beside you, the bucket of fertilizer fell to your feet with a dull clang. The world seemed to have stopped as your blood ran cold, a scream tearing through your throat. Even though Gladers were running everywhere, some to reach the pair of boys and some to get the Med-jacks, you were still somehow the first to reach the pair.
Exhausted, Minho lowered Newt to the ground. Coming to their side, you got a better look at Newt. Cuts and scratches littered every visible part of his body, and his clothes were torn up. Bruises were beginning to form on his arms and face, and no doubt underneath the shirt that covered his torso, and you wondered what had happened to him. The last thing that you had taken notice of, which was the most prominent of his injuries, was the angle in which his leg had been bent at. He hadnât moved since Minho laid him on the grass, but, luckily, his chest was still rising. He was still breathing.
The crowd broke as Clint and Jeff came through with a stretcher, gently lifting the British boy onto it and carrying him away. Without a second of hesitation, you followed behind them, Minho on your tail.
The panic in your chest rose with every second, every possible scenario running through your head. What confused you the most was exactly how Newt had been found in the Maze. You had watched him go to bed the night before, and he even walked you from the kitchen to your private room before bed. How he had ended up in the Maze was beyond you.
As you stepped into the Medhut, Newt was being laid onto one of the cots before the boys began rushing around, gathering medical supplies. Jeff stopped as he passed you, saying, âYou canât be in here.â
âWhat do you mean I canât be in here?â You asked. âHeâs my best friend, Jeff, I need to-â
Jeff cut you off. âExactly, heâs your best friend. Youâre too close to him to be in here right now.â He looked behind you to talk to Minho. âGet her out of here. I wonât be able to focus if sheâs in here.â
Before you could protest, Minhoâs arms wrapped around your torso from behind you, trapping your arms down as he left the medjack hut. You squirmed and fought in the Keeperâs arms, desperate to get back in the room. âMinho, put me down! I need to be in there!â
He put you down, firmly grasping your arms and spinning you around to face him. âI get that you want to be with him, Y/n. I do. Heâs my best friend, too. But they need to focus so they can fix him. We need them to fix him, right?â
Overwhelmed, you nodded tearfully. You had never experienced any feeling as intense as this. It felt like you were suffocating and having your heart torn out all at once. Quietly, you maintained eye contact with your friend as you muttered, âI canât lose him.â
The boyâs face softened as he let go of your arms, instead pulling you in for a tight hug. Taking a deep breath, you clung to his shirt to try and keep your grip on reality. You refused to let the tears fall, though. You would never cry in the open, where any of the other Gladers could see you.
When he let go, Minho guided you back to your room, letting you have time to yourself to process and cope, along with some time to rest. From there, he made sure that Clint or Jeff would come get you when Newt had been bandaged fully and was ready to be seen.
Everyone knew that you and Newt had been close - closer than anyone else in the Glade had been. What you were sure no one knew, though, was how you really felt about the boy. Somehow, within the past year and a half, Newt had not only become your best friend, but the boy who stole your heart. It scared you half to death when you first realized it, but you had managed to keep the feelings to yourself - for a little while, at least. Somehow, Minho managed to figure it out a few months back. He was the only other person who knew.
Newt was everything to you. He was the only person in the Glade that made you feel completely safe and secure, like there was nothing outside the Glade that could ever hurt you. He made you laugh without trying, and when you were upset, he was always the first one to make sure you were okay and dry your tears. Without him, you werenât sure if you would survive. Especially since you couldnât remember not spending a day without him.
So, for what felt like hours, you sat on your bed or paced around your hut, wringing your hands until your skin was nearly raw, trying to calm yourself down. Well, you were, until a knock sounded on the door.
You rushed over to the door, yanking it open. Being met with Jeffâs face was one of the most relieving yet terrifying things youâd ever felt. âHeâs okay, just sleeping. You can go see him-â
Jeff didnât get the chance to finish his sentence before you were pushing past him, rushing across the Glade and over to the Medhut. There, you found Clint taping the last piece of gauze onto Newtâs arm.
âHow is he? Will he be okay?â You asked as you stepped up to Newtâs bed.
âHeâll be fine,â Clint assured. âThere are some issues, though. He broke his leg in three places. He might not walk right for a while, maybe the rest of his life. Itâll take him a while to wake up, too. Iâm guessing a few days, but Iâm not sure.â
You nodded, almost breathless as relief flooded your body and settled into your chest. Clint walked around the bed, wanting to give you some space, but you stopped him when you grabbed his arm. This time, you didnât care if he saw the tears stinging your eyes. âThank you, Clint.â
He only nodded, forcing a polite smile before making his way out of the hut. It was getting late, and dinner would be served soon, but you werenât going anywhere. Instead, you dragged one of the chairs in the room over to Newtâs bed, your back to the door. Once again, your eyes raked over Newtâs body, trying to fight the tears that followed.
The bruises that had only begun forming when you last saw them were prominent now, raging blues and purples splashed like paint against his delicate skin. The cuts that littered his skin were either taped shut or left to heal on their own, most of them being small enough to do so. It broke your heart when you noticed small flecks of dried blood in his hair, and the confusion swelled up in your chest again.
All you could do was force it down. You would have plenty of time to find out what happened to him when he woke up. All you had to do now was wait. You sniffled, another wave of relief washing over you. Newt was alive. He would be just fine. A few stray tears slipped past the barrier of your waterline, and you wiped them from your cheek before hesitantly slipping your hand into Newtâs limp one.
He was going to be just fine.
Playing the waiting game was agonizing. Sitting by Newtâs side, waiting for him to wake up, was tearing you apart.
You didnât want to leave his side. Not until he was awake and talking. Even when Alby came in and tried to get you to work, to get your mind off it for a while, you refused. No one refused Alby, and he wasnât going to let you sit here, but the broken look you held was enough for him to let it slide this time.
Minho brought you every meal, and sat with you while you both ate. He would ask about his friendâs condition, but as far as Clint and Jeff would tell you, it was always the same. Then he would ask about you. And you never knew what to say.
Your back and legs hurt from sleeping in the chair beside Newtâs bed, but you refused to sleep anywhere else. You only got exercise when you paced the room, wondering if the boy would ever wake up. And if it werenât for Minho bringing you food, you wouldnât have been eating. Hell, even Gally brought you fresh changes of clothes so you didnât stay in dirty, fertilizer stained clothing the whole time.
You didnât know what to do. It felt like you were going crazy, like seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours. You didnât know if it was day or night, or how long youâd be sitting in that uncomfortable chair for.
It mustâve been the third day, sometime after dinner, because Minho left with your empty dishes not too long ago. Again, you couldnât stay still. You paced and paced around the room, already burning whatever calories came with your dinner. The room was nearly silent, aside from the sound of your feet hitting the floor, almost annoyingly repetitive. You chewed on your nails, one arm crossed over your body, supporting the other as you chewed worriedly. It was a habit, and a bad one at that, that you didnât know how you picked it up. Like everything else about you, you simply assumed it was a part of your past that the Creators couldnât wipe away.
Just as you took another turn, facing Newtâs bed to continue your repetitive route, another sound echoed. Sheets rustled, and a quiet groan came right after. The relief that flooded you a couple of days ago came right back, crashing over you and taking your breath away as you watched Newtâs eyes squeeze tightly.
Crossing the small room within seconds, you sat back down in the chair, elbows propped up on your knees as you waited. The boy moved again, mouth parting as he hissed in pain.
âDonât,â you said, keeping your voice low. âDonât move, youâre okay.â
At the sound of your voice, Newtâs pained expression softened ever so slightly. He turned his head, slowly opening his eyes, meeting the dim light of the room - and your relief filled face. A fleeting look of confusion passed over his face before he relaxed, swallowing to try to alleviate his dry mouth.
âHow did IâŚ?â
âMinho. He found you and he brought you here.â You recalled, a smile building on your face, once again along with the tears. âYou were nearly dead when he brought you back here, you know that? Clint said that you, uh, you broke your leg. In three places. And that youâre gonna have to rest for a while, no work. But you might not walk properly anymore. Might have a limp. But apparently, you got lucky.â
Newtâs face fell, watching your teary eyes keep flitting between relief and worry. All he could feel was the clenching of his heart as your eyes grew red, trying to force the tears back. Even though shooting pain erupted along his side and ankle, he hated that he was putting you through this. It was his fault.
âWhat were you even doing out there, Newt?â You asked, wringing your hands together, sniffling.
The boy opened his mouth, praying that he had a response for you that wouldnât hurt you further. He felt paralyzed, unable to move, unable to think, unable to breathe. The only thing on his mind was not hurting you or causing you any more pain.
âIâŚâ he faltered, âI thought I was running that morning, and I wanted to get out there early, yâknow? Get a head start. But I came across a griever, thought I could use the ivy to get away for a little while, hold out until someone found me. I dunno why, but somehow, the griever went off on itâs own⌠got bored of me, I think. I tried to get down, but I got caught up in the ivy, and thatâs how Minho found me.â
You only nodded, simply glad that the boy you loved was still alive. You took your hand in his, a watery smile forming when you squeezed and he finally squeezed back. âIâm just glad youâre alive, Newt.â
âMe too,â he said, voice small.
The two of you stayed like that for a little longer, until you remembered. It came with a gasp, and you let go of the blondâs hand as you shot up from your seat. âThe others! I completely forgot! Iâll be back, I have to go tell them youâre up!â
Newt was left with no room to protest as you darted out of the room. He could hear your shouts from the Medhut, calling for the Med-jacks and Alby and Minho. Whoever was needed or important was called out, and the thought of you shouting across the Glade in the dying sunlight brought a smile to Newtâs face.
It didnât take long for a storm of footsteps to boom, rapidly approaching Newtâs door. Soon, Clint Jeff, Minho, and Alby crowded in the doorframe. Elated, relieved smiles broke on their faces and the Med-jacks were the first ones in, helping Newt adjust to a sitting position before breaking into work mode, checking his vitals and injuries.
As they did, Minho and Alby stepped forward, each expressing their joy and clapping him on the shoulder. But the underlying worry in Minhoâs eyes, and the slight anger in Albyâs, told Newt that this wouldnât last long. Heâd have to tell them the truth eventually.
After you told the boys that Newt was okay, you decided to give yourself some time away from the walls you spent the past few days inside of. The sun was almost completely gone, the cold and darkness of night chasing it away as you walked around the Glade, taking in as much of the fresh air as you could.
Things would start to get back to normal soon, though you knew Newt wasnât going to be able to be a Runner any more. He would work someplace else, maybe as a Track-hoe. Then again, everyone did a little of everyone elseâs jobs, so it wouldnât matter much where he was. He would have to find some other way of getting around for the next little while, though, since Jeff mentioned that it took some weeks for the wound to heal.
You shook the thoughts from your head, deciding to finish your lap around the Glade before stopping by to say goodnight to Newt and the others if they were still in his room before you headed to your hut, finally knowing that you wouldnât get a restless sleep for the first time in a little while.
Over the next few weeks, things started shifting. Everything felt almost⌠odd. Newt was up and walking - with crutches that Clint made, of course - within the first week, but youâd gotten used to that fairly quickly. Sometimes he needed help with something, so part of your job was staying nearby Newt and making sure he was as good as he could be. The thing that bothered you was Minho.
Ever since Newt woke up, heâd been acting weird. Before, he acted like he always did - like your best friend. Laughing with you, eating with you, everything. But now he was avoiding you like a sickness, a disease that he could catch simply by being within your vicinity. It bothered you to no end, and it hurt. All of a sudden, your best friend was unreachable, and you didnât know why.
Itâs been almost a month, and Newt was starting to walk on his own, without the crutches for support. His limp was painfully obvious, a reminder of his accident, but Clint and Jeff assured him that, over time, it would fade, and heâd barely even notice it. But he did. And so did everyone else.
Today, the Box would come up, and the bonfire would happen, and you couldnât wait. It was your favorite time of the month just because you got to have a good time, unwind and have some of Gallyâs moonshine. Plus, the next morning was always slow, and everyone could afford to sleep in a little bit. The only thing that bothered you was Minho, but youâd have plenty of time to forget about it at the bonfire.
And thatâs almost exactly what you did. Between drinking Gallyâs disgusting moonshine and hanging around Newt, you were almost completely able to wipe the memory of Minhoâs behavior from your mind.
At least, until you went to get something to eat.
Minho was standing by the roasting spit, talking with Frypan as he sipped on his own glass of moonshine. His gaze caught on yours as you greeted Frypan with a smile, taking the kebab he offered. You bit into it, giving a taut greeting to Minho before starting to walk back to Newt.
When you were halfway there, a hand on your arm stopped you, tugging you back to face Minho. Before you got the chance to pull away and ask him to leave you alone, he started speaking, words coming out fast as if he knew you were going to tell him off. âY/n, donât, I really need to talk to you. Itâs about Newt.â
The blondâs name snagged you, and before you knew it, you were being led away from the party, abandoning your kebab and drink to go to the Homestead nearby, Minhoâs hand wrapped around your bicep. He stopped when you could barely hear the loud laughter, looking around as if someone could pop out of the shadows at any moment.
âWhatâs going on, Minho?â You asked, impatient. âFirst, you stop being anywhere near me, now, out of nowhere, you want to talk? And what about Newtâs so important you had to drag me 50 bloody feet from the party to even get a word out?â
He sighed, hands on his hips as he hung his head, contemplating. When he looked back up at you, you could tell he was torn. But what was he so torn about?
âLook, Newt made me promise not to say anything about this, but I knew youâd kill me if you found out I was keeping this from you.â Minho started.
âWhat? What did he say?â
âHe wasnât trying to escape a griever when he fell.â The guilt pooling in your friendâs eyes felt like an extra kick to the teeth as he spoke. âHe⌠he only told me about what really happened. Iâm the only one who knows. But I canât keep it from you, youâre his best friend. Y/n, he jumped. He did it on purpose.â A pause lingered between you as you tried your best to suck in a breath, your chest collapsing in on itself. âHe⌠he tried to kill himself.â
There was no stopping the pool of tears that flooded your waterline as you tried to take a breath. You wondered how you didnât see something, see a change in his attitude, anything that wouldâve told you he was hurting. Anything at all. But there was nothing. He seemed completely fine before and after the accident - though now, you werenât sure you could call it an accident.
Minho placed a hand on your shoulder and pulled you into his body, hugging you until you were ready to let go. He let you wonder aloud, almost muttering incoherently before you managed to compose yourself and head back to the party.
He stopped you, though, to say, âY/n, I know you want to talk to him about it, but donât. Iâve tried. All you can do is be there for him. Pretend nothing happened, like you donât know.â
âHow?â You turned back to the boy, tears clouding your vision yet again. âHow can I pretend like I donât know my best friend wants to shucking kill himself - like I donât know he hasnât already tried? Thatâs why you were avoiding us, isnât it? So you didnât have to bloody deal with it?â
âYeah.â He admitted. âYeah. But I was only doing it so you wouldnât find out. Because if I stayed near you two, I wouldâve blurted it out and he wouldâve killed me.â
You huffed, mind running wild. Tears were beginning to sting the back of your eyes once again, but you forced them down. With a gulp, you nodded. âFine. Iâll try, but I canât make any promises.â
Minho exhaled with relief, nodding and telling you heâd see you later. You took a deep breath, preparing a lie to tell Newt when he asks what happened, and preparing to look at the boy who held your heart in his hands and pretend like you didnât know how much he was hurting.
As much as you hated it, you were right. It was so hard to wake up every morning and be faced with the reality of the situation Newt was in. It hurt, and you knew he was feeling ten times worse, but knowing that there was nothing you could do to help was killing you.
So, you ended up doing the same thing Minho did. Your chest felt heavy as you ate breakfast alone, not bothering to look for Newt. As much as it hurt, though, you were angry. Angry that he didnât come to you before deciding to jump off the bloody wall. Angry that he decided that was the only way out, that he would rather leave and let his friends find his body, mangled and lifeless, on the Maze floor, than try to find someone who could help him. Someone who could talk to him.
The anger hurt so much you could barely look at him. So, you did the best you could to ignore him, though not without making sure someone would be there if he needed help with someone. Gally was nice enough to step up after Minho asked, as he wouldâve been there himself, if it werenât for the fact that he would be in the Maze all day.
Most of the day was as normal as it could be, with you going about and working on whatever needed to have work done on it. Fixing the doors to the Medhut, picking tomatoes for tomorrowâs dinner, things like that.
Youâd gotten a lot done by the time you decided to break for lunch. As you made your way across, excited to find out what Frypan was cooking up today, slender fingers wrapped around your wrist, yanking you back to meet the person who dared to stop you.
To no surprise, it was Newt.
He didnât waste a second. âWhatâs wrong?â
âWrong? Nothingâs wrong, Newt.â You said, forcing down the hurt and anger that tried to claw its way into your chest.
âDonât lie to me. I know when somethingâs wrong with you, so tell me whatâs going on, now.â
You twisted your wrist, pulling it free from your grip. âYou donât have to worry about me. Iâm fine, Newt.â
He watched you push past him, headed in the opposite direction of where you were originally heading. Despite the shock he felt at how dismissive you were, Newt followed after you. You havenât been right since the bonfire, and he was determined to find out what happened.
You stepped into the Deadheads, hoping Newt wouldnât follow after you. Your hopes were proved useless when you heard the crunch of leaves behind you, slowly speeding up. He called out to you, but you ignored him, the pain of being near him beginning to be too much.
Soon, though, he caught up. He pulled at your wrist again, nearly breathless as you pulled back and forced him to let go. When you took a step back, Newtâs eyebrows furrowed. Your unusual behavior was starting to scare him.
âWhat the hellâs going on with you?â Newt asked, watching your chest heave. âWhy are you ignoring me, Y/n? Whatâs wrong?â
The pain mixed with the anger, creating a nearly dangerous explosive in your chest. Fed up, you began to shout. âYou donât get to ask me whatâs wrong, Newt!â
âWhat the shuck are you talking about-â
âYou donât get to ask me whatâs wrong!â You said, voice loud, but finally becoming steady. âYou donât get to ask me whatâs wrong, Newt! Not when you buried your feelings for months, only to go and jump from the walls of the shucking Maze because you couldnât handle it here! You donât get to bottle everything up instead of coming to me, or Minho, or Alby, or someone! Instead, you jumped from the Maze and I spent three days by your side, begging you to wake up. I almost lost you - hell, I was going to lose you, Newt, and I could barely deal with it because I love you! So donât ask me whatâs wrong if you canât answer that question yourself.â
Your words started out loud and declined into a steady, shaking tone, but the emotion was there all the same. Just like he feared from the moment he woke up, Newt hurt you. Your chest rose and fell rapidly, the only thing either of you could hear was your labored breaths as your body recovered from the exertion.
Newt was speechless. He shouldâve expected you to find out at some point, and he shouldâve expected a reaction like this one to come along with it, but now that it had happened, he didnât know what to do.
So, once your words finally registered in his mind, he did the only thing he could think of.
He rushed forward, cupping your face in his hands, and he kissed you.
At first, the shock alone was enough to freeze you in your spot. Your mind ran wild, trying to process what was happening. Alarms went off, and all you could do was close your eyes. Before you knew it, the kiss was over, and you realized that you didnât move. You didnât kiss him back.
Why didnât you shucking kiss him back?
Newtâs hands fell from your cheeks and your eyes fluttered open, watching the sorrow fill his as he attempted to stutter out an apology. He tried to step away, but you stepped forward, reaching up to rest your palm on his cheek. Newtâs words faltered, trailing off as you smiled at him.
You pulled him down to meet you, nudging your face upward. Your eyes fluttered closed again as his nose bumped yours, lips brushing. You pushed forward, pressing your lips to his. As if it were the most natural thing in the world, he rested his hands on your hips while your other hand moved to his jaw.
Again, Newt pulled away first. You chased his lips, like a drug youâd never get enough of. He laughed, resting his forehead on yours. Neither of you opened your eyes, simply resting like that for a few moments.
âIf you ever need someone to talk to, Newt, please, come to me.â You said. âI canât feel helpless like that again.â
âI will, love. Iâll never make you feel like that ever again. I promise.â
SUMMARY | It was another bonfire night surrounded in your thoughts when Minho interrupts your peaceful alone time.
A/N | This oneâs a little deep, it was 1am and i had thoughts
You stared up at the twinkles of light of the night sky, seated against the Map Roomâs walls, your lips pressed together in a soft smile, and your arms wrapped around your legs that were tucked underneath you. And although you could hear the clanks of Griever arms tapping against the maze walls, the Glade was surrounded with nothing but masculine laughter. The night was still and cold, and the cotton against your skin barely kept you warm. But still, you stayed seated on the grass, your mind engulfed in random thoughts.
Hey Everyone, Sorry this is so late. I feel like such a horrible person for promising this way earlier and not finishing it until now. My life has been really crazy the last year. I also just started college, which has taken over my life. Iâm going to try to post more on the weekends, if not then, during my breaks. You are all amazing! Thank you so much for all of your support! Hope you enjoy! Also I am planning a part four. Which I will try to have done by the end of the week. Â
If there are any mistakes or grammar issues, please let me know. I didnât get a chance to proofread. Sorry in advance!
"Gally?â
Newt, who was standing next to me, looked down at me with a sad gaze. He wrapped his arm around me and led me back to the truck helping me climb into the back.
The rest soon climbed back in as Jorge started driving again. My lips twisted into a frown as my mind raced around in circles thinking of multiple possibilities. Could he still be alive? No, I watched him die in my arms as they took me away. Why do I feel like I'm going to see him again? Am I gonna die today?
Nervous butterflies assaulted my stomach as we got closer to the crank town. Jorge soon parked just outside of the town, as we all climbed out walking into the town. I stayed lost in thought walking beside Thomas, before Jorge pushed past me bringing me out of my thoughts.Â
Newt placed his hand on my shoulder as we continued following Thomas. As we continued trying to find a way in, a manâs voice was heard above the noise. Stopping we all turned around to see the man sitting on top of a vehicle speaking trough a radio speaker. âWe are the voice of the voiceless! They hide behind their walls, thinking they can keep the cure for themselves, while they watch the rest of us wither and rot! But there are more of us than there are of them. And I say, we rise up and take back what is ours! Let's bring back a victory!â The crowd around us cheered, beginning to follow the vehicles.
As the leading car passed us, an electrical feeling surged through my body. Looking to the back of the car, I noticed one of the guys turn his head looking at our group, before I felt his gaze stop on me. The electricity feeling began to increase, as time seemed to freeze around me. I quickly looked at everyoneâs faces, noting that they noticed the guy staring as well.Â
Thomas began to follow the crowd, before Jorge spoke up âThomas! This is not what you're looking for. All these people trying to find their way in, you think you're gonna find something they can't?âÂ
Thomas continued shoving his way through the crowd before replying, âCame this far. I'm not turning back now.âÂ
âThis doesnât feel right.âÂ
Standing in the crowd huddled together, I noticed the same guys in face masks watching us. I quickly pointed this out to the group, as we stayed close to each other. Turning towards the great wall, the crowdsâ angry chants began to cease as a metallic creaking sound echoed around the area. Looking up huge guns began to rise coming to life and firing into the crowd.Â
The group started running, dodging incoming bullets and other people. The group turned down a path between tall concrete walls. Thomas, Brenda and I barely made it pasted the wall before one of the bullets landed behind us, knocking us down and stirring up a thick cloud of dust. Thomas grabbed Brendaâs arm and helped me up saying, âcome on.â
We began running through the path and came to a clearing where the men in masks began to grab everyone and shoving them into vans. I turned to Brenda and watched as a man grabbed her arm. I tried to run after her, but someone grabbed me by my waist and started pulling me towards one of the vans. I began thrashing around, struggling to get free. I threw my elbow back and made contact as the man behind me dropped to his knees. I began running again, knowing that if I didnât get away now, I wouldnât be able to save my friends later. Before I could make it any further, another man grabbed my wrist and pulled back throwing me into one of the vans. He climbed in behind me as I snuggled close to Thomas. The vans took off as three men in gas mask carrying huge guns watched us closely.Â
Biting my tongue, I grabbed Thomasâ hand as my other hand went to my necklace again. The electrical feeling buzzed to life, getting stronger with every second the vans continued. The vans came to a stop and a knock sounded from the door behind us. A muffled voice ordered, âGet out.â
We all jumped out, staying calm. I eyed the men around us, all carrying guns. The other van soon pulled up, muffled shouting and grunting was heard from inside. The doors flew open as one of the men in masks fell out. Jorge jumped out quickly behind him yelling, âwhere is she?â
Thomas, Brenda, Newt and Fry all rushed forward to pull Jorge off the man. The group surrounding us started shouting, âget backâ before pushing the boys away from Jorge and Brenda, who quickly began calming him down.Â
A familiar voice sounded above the crowd, âEverybody relax. We are all on the same side here.â
My heart jumped into my throat as my stomach preformed summersaults. One word popped into my head, Gally? Fighting back the idea, my eyes locked on Thomas as he questioned, âWhat do you mean on the same side? Who the hell are you?â
Everything stood still and silent as the group waited in confusion and suspense. The speaker slightly turned his head to the side before reaching up and removing his gas mask. It was as if time stood still, tears ran freely as my heart clenched. âGally?âÂ
He locked eyes with me and smiled lightly before a small frown took over. Looking back at Thomas he said, âHey Greenie.â

So I'm extremely sorry for not posting lately. I have had so much things come up like it's one thing after another. First my grandpa passed away, I had to move in with my grandma who is a very toxic person, then my grandma tried committing suicide. It's been extremely stressful as well trying to balance my last year of highschool with college applications and scholarships.
I'm hoping to write some more imagines and finish the requests in my inbox. Again I'm extremely sorry for just disappearing and disappointing everyone.

Summary: Will sneaks up behind the reader placing his hands over her eyes whispering "guess who." The reader lists off a few people to tease the poor guy however Will ends up getting frustrated and the reader has to cheer Will up.
Background knowledge: The reader is best friends with Dylan O'Brien and has been since their childhood. He invited her to met the cast of the Maze Runner on set one day. When she meets Will for the first time she was blown away by how sweet he truly was. After a year they finally get together and have been dating ever since. Also this takes place during the Death Cure filming.
Warnings: None, except this is really probably horrible. Sorry in advice
This is also something that just popped into my head a while ago and I ended up writing it down. And didn't write it until now. Hope you enjoy it even if it is terrible. Also please excuse any mistakes or spelling errors. I'm very busy with school and other things.

Y/n's POV:
Ring ring ring
"Hey Dylan... Yes I'm on my way... Of course, does anyone else want anything?.... Alright, see you soon." Hanging up the phone I turned on my heels and headed back to the coffee shop I had just passed.
A smile danced at my lips as I breathed in the crisp morning air. A cold gentle breeze blew down my neck chilling me to the bone as I pulled my sweater closer to me. The leaves above me danced in their red orange and yellow hues as the birds sang their cute little songs. High overhead the sun's rays played peek a boo behind the passing grey clouds.
Sighing contently I opened the door into the coffee shop. The warm scent of soft ground cinnamon and coffee overwhelmed me as the employees sent a welcoming wave towards me. I walked up to the counter and the cashier nodded smiling warmly at me "Good morning Y/n. The usual?"
"Good morning Daisy! Yes, please. Everyone ordered again" laughing she rang up the long list of everyone's drinks and I quickly paid.
"How's everything going over there?"
"It's good. You know how boys can be. How have you been?"
She laughed again "Of course. At least there's never a boring day. I'm good." Wiggling her eyes brows she smirked "How are you and you know who doing?"
Blushing I playfully slapped her arm "We're good. He's honestly the best. You should come over tomorrow night. We haven't hung out in so long."
"Of course. Here's your order, are you going to need any help?"
Looking at the three different drink holders and the three boxes of donuts I sighed "I hate to bother you or anyone else, but looks like I may need some".
"Nonsense it's no bother." She turned and called out âJohn!" waiting for him to appear from the back room she finished "Could you watch the cash register while I help Y/n."
"Of course. Hey Y/n, nice to see you again"
"Hey John, great to see you as well"
Daisy grabbed her keys to her car and nodded at Aiden who was refilling one of the customers cup "Can you help carry these out?"
Nodding he walked over placing the pot down and helped carry the items to Daisy's car.
"Thank you Aiden."
"Of course, Y/n. See you later."
The car ride was quite shorter than it would have been if we were walking. Taking a sip from my Pumpkin Spice Latte (or whatever you like, I'm just thinking about Pumpkin Spice. One of the reasons that fall is my favorite season. ) I stepped out of the car and Daisy helped me grab the drinks and boxes. We walked up to the door and the security guard smiled and nodded "Good morning Y/n."
"Morning Nick. I got you your favorite" Opening up the doughnut box his face brightened as he pulled out the small sperate bag that was prepared for him.
"Thank you y/n, but you didn't have to get me anything"
"Nonsense. You deserve a reward for all your hard work as well." He smiled and opened the door, allowing us to walk in.
As Daisy and I finished sitting everything down in the break room I hugged her "Thank you again. You're amazing!"
"Of course girlie anything for my best friend and best costumer. See you tomorrow y/n"
"See you."
As she walked away I grabbed my latte and walked to watch the group act. Giggling to myself as they missed their lines and such. After the director yelled for a break I made my presence known. Dylan ran up to me and hugged me "Yay! Where's my doughnut? You brought my coffee as well right?"
"Ouch, I feel so loved right now Dylan." He giggled and ran to the break room as everyone followed after him all saying a quick hello to me.
I watched as everyone ate their doughnuts and drank their coffee and giggled at the constant "thank you"s and satisfied sighs that echoed through the room. Soon everyone had left the break room and their was one coffee left on the table. Walking up to it I realized quickly that it was my boyfriends.
Standing back I grabbed my phone fixing to send Will a text telling him I was at the set when hands covered me eyes. A familiar warmth washed over me as a soothing voiced whispered next to my ear "Guess who."
I giggled deciding to tease him a bit. "Hmm is it Thomas?"
"Nope"
"What about Ki Hong. Is it Dexter?"
"No and No."
"Hmm is it that cute guy" I paused "Dylan."
I felt the arms around me tense up as the hand fell away from my eyes "Really Y/n?"
I quickly turned around and grabbed Will's hand before he could walk away "Will I was just teasing you. I knew it was you."
"Whatever."
He pulled his arm away and stormed off. Sitting my coffee down I rushed after him finding him in the dressing room. "Will, Honey? Will I'm sorry."
He frowned and looked the other way "If you think Dylan is so great why aren't you with him."
Taking a seat next to him I frowned grabbing his hands. "I'm not with Dylan because he is my best friend. I'm not in love with Dylan, I'm in love with you."
He looked up at me with a tear rolling down his cheek. His frown quickly turned into a grin as he shouted "Got you! And I love you to sweetie."
"Wait, What! You little."
He got up and raced out of the room. I stood up following after him trying to catch up to him. Cursing his long legs I gave up and stood trying to catch my breathe from laughing as I chased my boyfriend around the set.
When I looked around he was no where to be seen. Quickly spinning around scanning the area. Soon the same strong hands snaked around and covered my eyes again. "Will I know it's you."
He quickly let go and he turned me around. Picking me up he twirled us around. We then collapsed in a fit of giggles. As we finally stopped laughing he kissed my nose and said "do you really think Dylan is cute?"
"Not as cute as you. Can we go drink our coffee now?"
He laughed and he stood up helping me stand as well "Of course Princess. I want my coffee as well."
@carolinawindsay requested a Gally x Reader imagine. Gally gives the reader a promise ring in the maze. Promising that when they get out of the maze he will marry her. However it is all a flashback!Â
Sorry that it is so late! School is crazy. Friday is my last day and Thursday is the last day of finals. I promise to be more active from here on out! Love all of you guys!
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day had started out just as normal as every other day. Waking up in my long term boyfriendâs strong arms. Needing to get ready for the long day ahead of me I attempted to break free of Gallyâs loving warm embrace. As I wiggled around, his arms wrapped around me tighter pulling me closer. I giggled as he began to nuzzle his head into the crook of my neck groaning out in frustration, âY/n stop moving, pleaseâ
âGally I have to get up, Frypan needs me in the kitchen.â Smiling down I stroked his cheek lovingly.Â
He shifted his head away from my neck and looked me in the eyes âStay a little longer, please?â His blue eye peering up giving his best âpuppy dog eyesâ
I chuckled at his cuteness, and sarcastically rolled my eyes âOh No! My one true weakness!â The pout that completed the look soon turned into a sly smirk as I said âFine, You winâÂ
Laughing he pulled me closer as a smile grew on his face. A content sigh left his lips as he whispered âI love you so much Y/n.â
Smiling I whispered back âI love you as well, captainâ
~~~~~Wee Time Skip to After Dinner~~~~~Â
âGood night Fryâ I said over my shoulder as I ran out the door thankful that it wasnât my night to do dinner dishes.Â
âNight Y/n! Thank you for your helpâ
I looked back with a smile âof courseâ. Before I knew it I ran into someone, and felt my self falling backwards. Before I felt the landing, strong familiar arms wrapped around me, then began to place me back on my feet. I smiled as I looked up at him âHey Gal!â
A soft smile played upon his lips as he sweetly replied âHey cutie,â as he leaned down and pressed a small kiss to my forehead.Â
A small gagging noise came from inside the kitchen. I quickly turned around just as Fry sarcastically said, âguys get a room.â
Gally and I laughed as we waved goodbye and started walking away. I was holding Gallyâs hand, swinging our arms back and forth. As we got closer to our room, he pulled me in the other direction, leading me into the deadheads. âGally why are we going to the deadheads?â
Not stopping he said âI have a surprise for you.â
I gasp before gently cooing âAWWW when did you get so soft? Planning a surprise for me?â
He looked away from me quickly as a light pink began to dust over his features. âY/nnnnnâ
As we entered the deadheads, I noticed a blanket placed directly under a hole in the canopy. I looked at Gally who still looked a bit flustered. I smiled at him dragging him towards the blanket faster before sitting on the blanket. He sat down beside me before laying on his back staring up at the stars. I quickly cuddled up next to him laying my head on his chest. I felt him shift a little and slowly sat up confused, âAre you okay Gally? You seem a bit nervousâ
He quickly sat up and took my hands in his before whispering âI love you Y/n.â
âGally, I love you too.â
He smiled and then pulled something out of his pocket. Dropping my right hand he slide something onto my ring finger. Looking down I gasped seeing a smooth wooden ring with a green heart sitting on my finger. âIts a promise ring, I want to spend my life with you. And I promise that the moment we get out of this maze I will get you a real ring and I will marry you. But only if you let me.â
I began to smile as tears ran down my face. Pulling my hand out of his I cupped his cheeks pulling his face down to mine before pressing a quick loving kiss on his lips. Gally laughed âIâll take that as a yes.â I nodded not being able to find words.Â
A knock on the door woke me up from my memories. Shaking my head a little I called out âCome in.â The door opened as I turned around to see Brenda walking in.Â
As she walked in she smiled âYou ready for today Y/n?âÂ
As I began to think about the next couple hours I began to become a little nervous. Brenda noticed this and quickly assured me âY/n? Are you okay?âÂ
Looking at her I ended up sighing âIâm just a little bit nervousâ
She giggled âwell every girl gets nervous on their wedding day.â Laughing it off she said âlet me help you with your dress.â
âI canât believe that this is actually happening! With every thing that we have been through I never thought âhappily ever afterâ could ever happen again. Yet here I am, getting married to the love of my life. Off in our own little paradise, our safe haven.âÂ
Chuckling Brenda continued brushing my hair âI never thought I would see you this way Y/n. When I first met you, you were a tough girl. Hardened by the scorch and the supposed death of Gally. Now you are soft and giggly.â
Blushing slightly I giggled âwell you would feel the same way. Oh wait what about you and Thomas. I know you like him.â
She blushed and playfully slapped my shoulder, âY/n I do not like him.â
âOh thatâs right you looovvee hiimmm.â
Her face began to grow a darker shade of red. As she finished adding the flowers in my hair someone knocked on the door. Brenda cracked open the door to find Minho standing outside. Quickly dragging him inside she threw in a âdo notâ before sitting down.Â
Minho looked at me confused before shaking his perfectly styled head. âYou look absolutely stunning, almost as stunning as me.â
I laughed as I replied, âNo one can look as stunning as you Minho.â
He chuckled before asking âare you ready?â
âYes, I think so. Thank you for agreeing to walk me down the aisle.â
He nodded âof course Y/n,â and we walked outside as the ceremony began. As Brenda and Frypan reached the alter, the music began and everyone stood up turning to watch me walk down the aisle. Feeling more nervous I began to freeze, Minho noticed this and whispered âY/n you will be fine. You look lovely. And I mean look at Gallyâs reaction.â
Looking up I noticed that Gallyâs eyes were open wide. Before I knew it he was wiping away something on his cheek. Whispering to Minho I giggled âIs he crying?âÂ
Minho chuckled âI think so.â Soon we arrived at the alter and Minho handed me off to Gally while sternly stating âTake care of her Gally.âÂ
As Minho took his seat the priest began his little speech. Holding Gallyâs hand I looked into his eyes and seen that he was indeed crying. Smiling I mouthed, âHey. You okay?â
He grinned mouthing back âNever better.â
The priest then said âI understand you both have your own vows.â
Nodding I began, wanting to say my vows first, âGally, I remember when I first met you when I came up in that dreadful maze. You gazed down at me and I felt the fear fade away. Everyone told me to stay away from you, saying that you were the bully of the glade. But I didnât listen because deep down I knew that there was not a mean bone in your body, just four walls. I had to break down those walls. I knew you were the love of my life. From our first kiss to the promise ring you gave me, to the day I lost you and the day I found you again, It had always been you. I never want to loose you again Gally. I promise that Iâm forever yours and that I will always stay by your side, no matter what. You are my person, I love you so much.â
Gally smiled as more tears fell down his cheeks. Reaching up to wipe them away I looked into his eyes smiling. He then began his vows after clearing his throat. âY/n you are the most amazing thing that has happened in my life. To be honest I still conât understand how I got so lucky. The day you came up I knew that my life was going to change. I knew that I had to have known you from before the maze. I wanted to be able to call you mine, but was always afraid. Once I finally asked you out, I knew I couldnât loose you to any of the other gladers. I promise you Y/n, that no matter what I am yours. I will never leave your side and will always love you even in death. I love you with my whole heart. You are my person as well.â
We both said our âI doâsâ slipping the rings on each others fingers, then the priest said âI now pronounce you man and wife, You may kiss the bride.â
Gally, not wasting any time, dipped me slightly and leaned down pressing his lips to mine in a passionate kiss. Pulling me back up he hugged me spinning us in a circle before grabbing my hand and leading me back down the aisle. âI promise you y/nâ
Hello, I know I have been very inactive lately. School is just consuming my life right now. Next week is my last before summer break and I have my finals as well. Afterwards I promise I will start posting again. Also I have been thinking about turning this account into basically an imagine account for mostly any fandom (if I have seen the movie, show, or read the books). What do you guys think?

Hello, sooo this is just something that popped into my head when I saw @littlexredxwolf's gif. The gif and the prompt belongs to them. Thank you!
Y/n POV:
The sun was high over head when I had reached the end of my section in the maze. Checking the time I noticed that the wall would be closing in 15 minutes. In a panic I began racing back toward the glade, "I have to make it back, I have to!" As I rounded the last corner the door came into view. A group of gladers gathered at the door encouraging me to run faster, but Thomas was the only one I focused on. He screamed above the others, regret and fear filled his handsome face as a low rumble shook the ground and the huge stone walls began to close. In the back of my mind I knew I wasn't going to make it, but I kept running. As I got closer I seen a determined look written in Thomas's eyes as he started to run into the maze. However before he could Newt, Chuck and Minho grabbed his arm holding him back knowing well enough that the said shank would run in to protect the girl he liked.
Finally the doors closed locking me out for the rest of the night. Remembering Thomas's look I knew I had to make it back to him to at least tell him how I felt. But before I could start my running, a clicking and whirring noise started up just around the corner. Running to the vine covered wall I began to climb hoping to get up high enough that I would be out of the greiver's view.
Soon enough a slimy creature with mechanical legs rounded the corner. My breath hitched in my throat as the slimy spider looking thing walked towards me. A small gasp left my mouth causing the griever to stop directly under me. I slowly and quietly began climbing higher up until I made it to the top of the wall. Once on top I began running along the wall hoping not to trip over any of the vines. A wail left the grievers mouth as it finally noticed me running. It began running, chasing after me from below.
The griever then began to climb up the wall. Startled I froze, watching the griever get closer and closer. Shaking the fear out I turned and began running. Sitting down I grabbed one of the vines and let my body swing down sliding down the vines hoping to make it to the floor before the thing caught me.
My feet hit the ground and I took off running, not bothering to wait and see if the griever was still chasing me. A grinding noise started up in front of me as the two walls began to come together. Speeding up I knew that if I wanted to live I would have to make it to the other side before the opening closed. Squeezing through right before the wall shut off completely, I slide down the wall to catch my breath.
After what seemed to be an eternity of running the maze, the first rays of light began to slither their ways down into the concrete jungle. The clicking and whirs that have been haunting me throughout the night began to fade away, leaving a eerie quiet behind. A low rumble began in the distance as the ground beneath me began to shake. Not bothering to slow down I kept running hoping to make back into the safety of the glade as soon as possible.
Rounding the corner I noticed a group of gladers turning away from the door, their heads hung in dismay. Chuck stood with Thomas still waiting. My heart skipped knowing that Thomas never lost hope that I would make it out alive.
I started running faster as they both finally noticed me. Chuck turned to the retreating gladers quickly calling them back. Making it back into the glade I ran straight into Thomas's arms.
Whoops and cheers filled the air causing us to quickly pull away from the warm embrace. All of my brothers pulling me into a familiar embrace welcoming me back. As the group finally dispersed I felt the effects of running all night finally kick in losing my balance leaning into Thomas.
Newt, Thomas and Minho then began to help me to my room while Chuck ran to get me a glass of water. The bed gave a moan of annoyance as I sat down. Fully expecting a full out lecture by the Sass Queen I sat back but was surprised when Thomas began ranting. "Y/n, you should be more careful. I was terrified that I wasn't going to see you again. What happened? Where you not watching the time? You need to watch the time! What would I do without you? what would we all do without you?! Don't scare me like that! "
Laughing I pulled Thomas down to my level and kissed his cheek. His face flushed a brilliant pink as I said "You're adorable. "
Is there any rules to do an request? You do imagines with the actors, or with just the characters?
As of right now I don't really have any "rules" per say. I'll do imagines with just about anyone, both actors and characters. Just ask away! đđâ¤
