               Family headcanon ;; Anzu’s dad died shortly after Anzu met and became friends with Yugi. She was just a child when her father passed away and she sometimes doesn’t really remember a lot about him. She remembers him in flashes, his laughter, his favorite show, how he’d teach her how to fix things around the house, how he’d make cookies with her when she really wanted them. He worked night shifts so he was always with anzu during the day as a child while her mom worked day shifts. Then the balance was gone without him and it was just anzu and her mom and then anzu with her grandparents when her mom was working. Anzu loves her mom but her mom stays busy with work and while their relationship is good, anzu feels it is a little strained too due to the fact that she doesn’t see her mom a lot and she definitely doesn’t see her a lot after she goes off to college in New York.
