Nobel Peace Prize awarded to chemical weapons watchdog
Norwegian Nobel Committee: The 2013 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, the Nobel committee has announced at a press conference in Oslo. The organization was chosen to receive the prestigious prize ‘for its extensive efforts to eliminate chemical weapons.’
