"Urgh!" A young woman with cat ears and two cat tails skidded back along the floor, gouging a line in it with her sword, before falling to one knee, panting heavily.
"Foolish girl from another world." An older woman's laugh echoed around the temple, coming from underneath a cultist's hood. "Did you really think you could stop me?"
"The thought did cross my mind, yeah." The young woman said, trying to raise herself up onto her feet by placing the point of her sword against the stone ground and raising herself up, before simply getting kicked back down by the other. "Guh!"
"No no no... don't get up on my account." The cultist grinned. "I'm surprised at you though. Pleasantly surprised."
"I always aim to please..." The woman groaned, coughing a little. She opted to stay on her knee this time, rather than risk getting kicked again.
"I would have thought you'd be smarter than this, I will admit. You know how powerful I am, the sort of things I've done. And yet here you are. You came to confront me all on your own. Are you stupid, or just overconfident?"
The cultist stiffened a little as the young woman started laughing.
"... Who said I was alone?" She said, smirking.
The cultist whirled around, eyes wide underneath their hood. But... there was nothing.
"Pah, what a poor tri-" They started to say, before their voice cut off into a scream of pain as the younger woman had moved with incredible speed, hitting them with a solid slash.
"... I never said I wasn't alone, either." The woman said, giving a swipe of her sword, some of the blood on the blade splattering to the ground. She turned around, her sword raised.
"You are not nearly as big a threat as you think you are. People more powerful that you have tried to summon Neukhia before. And people far less powerful than I have stopped them. I don't know what you were planning on achieving by summoning them, but it wasn't going to work out well for you, unless you WANTED to destroy everything." The woman kept walking forward, her sword pointed steadily at the cultist.
The cultist laughed, even as they clutched at their wound. It was serious, but not fatal.
"Oh please, put your sword down. We both know you're not going to kill-" The cultist's eyes widened as the woman drew her sword back and finished the cultist with one slash of their sword, their body crumpling before they could make another noise.
"You're hardly the first person I've killed. Hell, I've killed for less. So if killing someone is going to stain my soul, don't worry... it's already stained red." The woman said, giving another swipe of her sword to send a few splatters of blood to the ground before wiping the blade off on the cultist's robes. She lent down to check their pulse before standing up, tilting their head back, their own hood falling back, revealing a young looking face and bright amber eyes.
"Well... guess I need to start making preparations. I think I'm ready to return home... the rest of my clan are strong enough to survive and flourish on their own."
And with that, the woman left the temple, leaving their cultist's body dead on the floor.
