"Mosercest is illegal" well so are their combined accounts of abuse of power, aiding and abetting, animal cruelty, arson, assault and battery, attempted infanticide, blackmail, breaking and entering, burglary, child abandonment, coercion, conspiracy, corpse abuse, corpse desecration, death threats, enforced drug usage, evidence tampering, fabrication, false alarms, false imprisonment, false reporting, fratricide, fraud, grand theft auto, harassment, identity theft, illegal possession of drugs, illegal use of firearm, impersonation, incitement, incrimination, jailbreak, kidnapping, mutilation, obstruction of justice, patricide, privacy violation, property damage, pseudocide, psychological abuse, reckless driving, sabotage, serial kidnapping, serial murder, stalking, theft, torture, trespassing, vandalism and vigilantism.
But I don't hear you complain about that.
If Dexter is Deeply Disturbed Dexter, what would Deb’s, Brian’s and Harrison’s title be? (Deeply Devoted Debra sticks out to me but I’m pretty sure my brain convinced me that’s canon when it’s not)
Dexter calls Debra "Dearly Damaged Debra" and I think it's beautiful. As for Brian, I don't think the B works as well. But its probably something like "Beautifully Bloody Brian."
May I suggest Beautifully Broken Brian if we imagine the book told from his perspective instead of Dexter's, complete with childhood flashbacks or Brutally Benevolent Brian if it only focuses on his twisted belief that, through his actions, he's helping Dexter?
For Debra, on the other hand my suggestions are Desperatly Driven Debra, because of her obsession with work in both the books and the show, or Dangerously Devoted Debra due to how she still sticks with Dexter even after having found out the truth in the first book/season 6.

It’s kinda frustrating to see Harry face close to zero consequences for his actions in the show. like he gets slightly demoted and reprimanded for taking advantage of vulnerable CIs and damaging tons of cases, Doris stays and plays the happy wife after he got their first child killed and repeatedly cheated on her, Dexter and Deb both idolise him like crazy and he’s remembered by his coworkers as a man with a heart of gold who was tragically taken too soon. Debra’s perception of him changed drastically after she found out about all the affairs but Dex keeps him as his guiding voice of reason all the way through to Resurrection and I just think it’s ridiculous

RESPECTFULLY
one of my favorite things to talk about brian is concerning his high emotional intelligence. perhaps he's not the best out there but it's really amazing how well he can perceive the human condition. for one thing we have to remember that his plan failed not because he wasn't chosen, but that it didn't last as long as he wanted it to. we don't know how long he planned to stay incognito but over a year at the very least doesn't seem to crazy, does it? that's because he knew that revealing himself to dex so soon would wreck him up or even stun him so extremely he would straight up not believe him. he couldn't dismantle dex' life immediately, which is why he trickled clues and took down his false life one brick at a time.
and deb plays into this, of course. he knew that even if that's not the case for him, sex connects people which is why he potentially spent hours sleeping with her (referring to that one line in 1x11 when she mentions that he essentially had sex marathons with her, also now that i think about it didn't he knock her out once in 1x9 cuz it was so intense??) to speedrun her connection and trust with him.
and we can't mention deb without dex, because not only was it in an assumption of his that they were close but it was visible enough to make him very careful on getting between them. he knew he had to tread lightly if dex were to cut off all connection with her. again, his personal feelings of fake family didn't mean that automatically translated to everyone else. he was very aware of their relationship, which is why he manipulated deb into going to joe's house. he literally relied on deb's feelings for her brother to continue his plan. and obviously, he shows it in choosing for her to be the one dex had to kill. the amount of people who say "He underestimated Dex' feelings" and "He only wanted her dead out of jealousy" is crazy. he knew that if any essence of the morgan family were alive dex would always think - whether he wanted to or not - that he could always go back to a false life. he had to prove how he was willing to embrace himself by killing his last connection, not because deb herself as a person was something brian hated (i even like to think he liked her in his own way as he referred to her as her nickname when he was talking with her in 1x12).
he shows it again with his and his brother's father. he knows how to approach him tentatively, gently approaching his feelings of realizing his bio father was alive for his entire life. the most hilarious and ironic thing of it all is that deb was the one being selfish and unmindful whereas brian wasn't. he apologizes to dex that they met in such an emotional point of dex' life while still trying to keep his distance.
this kinda leads into what i have to say about brian's mask, because how did it work so well that it made deb cry during sex? the only way that he could have pulled off something so convincing is that he himself does have real feelings at the core of everything, then wraps it with convincing lies. he has experienced love. he knows what grief feels like. he has mourned before. he doesn't need to look in a mirror and practice making a convincing crying face. he's constantly crying in his soul. he doesn't need to try looking happy, he's been happy in his previous life. all he needs to do is pull from those real moments in his life and web it to make the lie, which is partly true, look completely true. brian hasn't had real romantic love in his life but as said before he makes covers with it by initiating bucketloads of sex, in addition to the tender feelings he has felt before for his family he pulls from inside himself and transforms it into a convincing lover's touch. it's just...the more i think about his character the more i am absolutely floored they thought it was a good idea to only have him available for one season, and barely at that. there was bundles and bundles left to explore
