I am. It’s easier than fighting back, time heals all wounds, right? It is when you’re not the jock type. Sorry, sorry. Can’t fight the facts, though. You are tiny. If they did, it’s gossiping. See, that was pretty hypocritical, if I do say so myself.

Sure, it may be easier, but people are going to get the idea that you'll never fight back if you just take it, and that's not gonna get you through high school any easier. Whatever though, as long as you don't get in any fights, I guess it's up to you. But they probably didn't. Hypocritical? How so?

Mom and dad don’t choose favourites, Chicken Little. They love you just as much as they love me. Is he still around? Because if he is, I think I might need to pick up some antihistamines. Break out into hives? Nah, I haven’t done that in weeks. Kidding, kidding. Geez. So harsh. I’ll make sure to eat my ice cream in private. So, now there’s road rage Maya, good sister Maya, pickpocket extraordinaire Maya, and pro wrestler Maya. The only Maya I haven’t heard from today is the Maya that plays and instrument that’s bigger than she is and couldn’t walk in heels if her life depended on it. Is she still around, or has she evolved? My own fandom? Oh, no! I don’t really want one of those. People all up in my business at all hours of the day. Can you spell freaky? I’m not opposed to signing autographs though. I think that could be a fun experience. So am I!

Oh, they may love us equal, but they liked you better. If you don't believe me, just ask, oh, I don't know, anyone! No, no, he moved out before you came. He only stayed for a few months because his family left for Serbia and he chose to stay for... questionable reasons. He moved out though--found another host family, or something like that. Antihistamines are unnecessary. What can I say; I've discovered many hidden talents while you were away. I'm simply trying to broaden my horizons. I still play the cello, just not as much as I used to. And, by the way, I'm getting somewhere with the heels. Oh, please! It's not that bad. You had one in high school. Everywhere I went, people acknowledged me as 'Katie Matlin's little sister'. Only this year have I become Maya Matlin. Oh, yeah! There'd be still frames of the video for you to sign--you might even end up on the news!

I’ll do my best to run, but if I can’t, I’ll just take the beating or whatever. Yeah well most people are larger than you, considering you’re pretty tiny. I think it still counts, and I’m also still not believing that it wasn’t negative. I’m sure someone said something negative.

'Just take the beating'? You seem like you're really submissive to stuff like that. That's really not the way to go about things. Wow, thanks for making me feel soo much better. If they did say something negative, I wasn't paying  them much attention. I rather focus on positive than negative.

Ah, I see. I'm not usually looking for confrontation, but I don't exactly run from it either, so I can kind of see where you're coming from. Eh, you're big enough. Yes, you do seem like the easily nervous type. Why are you afraid of it? I mean, I guess I understand, but, I'm small, I don't have much fight in this little body of mine. Dallas doesn't know anything about me. He thinks he does, but he only knows what he hears from other people. Gossiping is sooo sixth grade. 

I sugarcoat everything, I think your bluntness rubbed off on me or something. Normally I’d never be so honest. Then again, Dallas warning me to be direct with you was probably a large influence.

If people hang out with me long enough, they might start acting like me. Being blunt isn't a bad thing though. Even if that's what got us in this mess. Dallas, he doesn't even know me, so I could honestly care less about him.

As I always am. Unless I know it'll hurt someone's feelings--then I might sugarcoat something a little bit. I'm not heartless. 

Thank you. Thank you very much. I’ll try, but I can’t make any promises. He does have a soft spot for me, now that I’m not living in the house anymore, but he might love his job even more. So I’ve been told, but his if way worse than mine. Mom told me he was there, but not once did she tell me that he was living in my room. I hope you cleaned it well. It doesn’t take much to make my boy allergies flare up. I can’t make any promises. Ice cream is my one true weakness, and you know how difficult it can be to resist things like that when they’re staring you right in the face. I’ll tell you what— If I eat more than my fair share of ice cream, I’ll go out and get you your own tub. Reporters, police, representatives from World Star, angry sick people— Oh, yes. We can’t forget about the spokespeople. We’ll have to get someone good. Someone that won’t air all of my dirty laundry in one breath. Good! I can’t wait to hear it.

I suppose he does. You were always mom and dad's favorite. They say they don't have one, but everyone knows it's you. Yep, he lived here for a few months. You probably wanna know why, but that's one of the many events that occurred at Degrassi this year. That's okay, I'll probably tackle you if I see you eating too much. And then steal your wallet. I've garnered some interesting talents while you were away--pick-pocketing is one of many. I don't exactly hold anything back. I figured that'd be the one thing you got out of our earlier conversation. I'm an open book--I have nothing to hide.

Maybe we should try to do something special for him. If you can get a hold of his work schedule, I can make a few calls and throw something together for him. Nothing expensive, of course. That would completely defeat the purpose of what we’re trying to do. I’m thinking of something along the lines of a small appreciation party. You guess? I know you can handle it. It’s what you’ve been doing since I left, isn’t it? We have to. It’s in mom’s best interest that we work together, and I think it would benefit us as well. I like your thinking, Katie Matlin. I'm pretty sure I can get his schedule, you just have to make sure he doesn't completely lash out at us for tearing him away from work. I don't know if you know, Katie, but you two both have a temper. Nonetheless, I do like the idea. Yes, I have been doing most of this on my own since you left--with some help from Zig. Oh, did I mention that he lived in your room for, like, two months, before you came? Don't worry though, I cleaned thoroughly before you came home.
