Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of the new Rihanna. I enjoyed her old music like the early 2000′s stuff, but she’s changed and now I just find her trashy. I don’t see how that fits in with the rest of the magnificent and humble cast. Anyways from a more professional point of view, aside from my personal, the writers and creators only brought her on to the show to get viewers. There are so many ACTUAL ACTRESSES out there that would have been HONORED to get that iconic part. Don’t get me wrong, I have never seen Rihanna act, therefore don’t know of her abilities and can’t judge, but I DO know that the character Marion Crane deserves more. This role is once again an HONOR to play not just “oh I’m a fan of the show so yeah I’ll take the part”. The name Alfred Hitchcock is too much of a biggie in cinema to have casting errors like this. The writers and casting crew are not paying proper homage to this historic character or incredibly talented actress, Janet Leigh by choosing a SINGER to play the role. Now I’m not saying singers can’t act. Take Beyonce for example, great singer and also somewhat experienced and well-rounded actress. Fun fact, Janet Leigh herself also did a few soundtracks, but was PRIMARILY an actress. Rihanna just doesn’t have that same experience. And let’s not forget about the brilliant film director/producer, Hitchcock. His original creation should be respected. In conclusion, we will see what season 5 brings us, but it will always be upsetting and disappointing to me that they chose the wrong Marion Crane.
