they say no man is an island, but i sure feel like one…

i feel my palm trees rustle in the breeze

i feel the oceans of people surround me

maybe they’re all islands too

i can’t tell

i feel the weather changes

i feel the sunshine heal me some days,

other days it just burns

i feel sandy and salty

my attitude just won’t get better

i hope the other beaches feel that way sometimes too

i feel isolated

i think see other islands in the distance

i don’t think i speak their language

i wouldn’t want to miscommunicate & offend any islanders

i feel singular in this ocean

no part of me is anyone else

the only similarity is the waves that wash upon our shores

they say no man is an island…
