Can I request Austinxreader domestic fluff after a long day? âşď¸đ
I am so incredibly sorry it took me so long to complete this request! Life has been throwing its punches so I havenât been able to write much lately. I had some ideas here and there but nothing really went anywhere until today. I hope you like it! Thank you for the request! đ¤
The evening started the same way it always did when you were both home. Strolling into the kitchen and trying to think of yet another meal to make. You were standing in front of the open fridge, staring at everything inside, hoping you would get inspired. Austin appeared beside you a second later, leaning into your side to look in the fridge as well.
âEither youâre sleep walking or you have a new fascination with oat milk.â He said teasingly.
âHa. Ha.â You mumbled back, mind still focused on dinner. "Hmm." You said again without thinking.
"Hmm." Austin mocked with love. "We have food.â He added.
"We just don't have dinner food.â You glanced at him, smiling. The fridge light shone across half his face as he continued staring into the shelves. After a second, he closed the doors, snapping you both out of the trance.
"What do you want to eat?â He asked.
"No." You said without missing a beat. Austinâs eyes narrowed at you before he spoke.
"You don't get to do that."
"Put the pressure on me! Weâre sharing this burden!â You said dramatically, causing Austin to smirk. He grabbed your hand and pulled you over to the couch before flopping onto it.
"What do we want?" He asked again.
"We need someone else to decide." Austin laughed at your response. The conversation somehow kept going for another fifteen minutes.Every suggestion was rejected by either you or him.
"Too much prep for right now."
"Breakfast for dinner?â You asked hopeful, knowing how much he liked it. His eyes lit up slightly but then faded almost immediately after.
"Feels too repetitive after the brunch we had today." He answered while staring at the ceiling.
A moment later Austin had ended up lying across the couch with his head in your lap. You absentmindedly played with his hair while both of you continued to brainstorm.
"I have an idea.â he exclaimed.
"We hire a personal chef."
"Great ideaâŚdoesnât help us figure out what to eat today though.â You laughed lightly. Austin let out a small but dramatic groan. There was a couple minutes of silence as you both got lost in thought. You smiled down at him and lightly tugged his hair, getting his attention. He immediately reached up and grabbed your wrist, pulling your hand down to kiss it softly before lacing his fingers with yours.
Somehow the two of you were now debating between which animals would beat each other in a fight. To no surprise, Austin somehow was able to find defending arguments for each animal until it came to a raccoon vs a goose. You were confident a goose would win and he couldnât argue. Heâd seen some aggressive geese in his lifetime. As the random conversations continued, the sky started growing darker, neither of you noticing until your stomach growled. The two of you looked at each other and let out a small laugh.
"We still haven't figured out dinner." He said with a sigh.
"We spent forty minutes accomplishing absolutely nothing."
"Forty-five." He said after looking at his watch.
Austin sat up and stretched his neck. His hair was sticking up from where you'd been running your fingers through it but somehow still had that groomed messy look he had been sporting lately.
"Takeout?" You stared at him for a second then nodded in agreement.
"Takeout." Austin grabbed his phone once you agreed, opening up a food delivery app.
"That was always going to be the answer." He chuckled and shook his head.
"You know, we could've just done this forty-five minutes ago." You joked, knowing you both were just attempting to be creative at home with what you had.
"Sure." He trailed off, moving closer to you until his shoulder bumped yours. "But then we would've missed out on that very important raccoon V goose discussion."
"And now we're getting food and we agree that the goose would win." Austin grinned. A few minutes later, the order was placed so you settled back into the couch together while you waited. Austin wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you into his side. Your body melted right into him. He was a comfort you always wanted. Austin pressed a kiss to the top of your head while scrolling through his phone, not entirely paying attention to it.
"SoâŚâ he started, locking the screen to give his full attention back to you.
"Hm?" You hummed out, eyes shut while you enjoyed the peaceful moment.
"If the raccoon had the element of surprise thoughâŚâ You groaned immediately and Austin laughed. The sound filled the room and it made you smile. He had to find some way to make a case for that animal and you loved him for it. As ridiculous as the entire conversation was, sitting there with him while waiting for your takeout, that realistically could have ordered an hour ago, was a moment you always cherished. Nothing beat spending time together and just being yourselves.
