Maxon had a place in his heart he reserved just for his grandchildren. He could see flecks of his children in them, sometimes in their eyes, the way they talked, their talents and abilities. And yet there was something so otherworldly he couldn’t place. He spoiled them endlessly, gifts and trinkets from his and America’s travels. He flew with them anywhere and everywhere in the world, because they were his world.
