For someone who grew up in California, Elly sure disliked water. Actually, it was more she disliked going swimming. She didn’t mind sitting with her feet in the water or being around it. But being submerged… It just wasn’t for her. Hearing Max call out to her, the brunette glanced up from her phone and shook her head. “I told you I don’t swim. Be glad I agreed to tag along in the first place, Maxie.”

To make it worse, my dumbass didn’t bring any backup strings...” Max only laughed at her rough night. “I mean, I ended up turning the whole thing into, like, an a cappella type deal, but that shit was kind of embarrassing.
