Xiang Fei being reincarnated as the little palace mistress, Shen Yuan is reincarnated as Gongyi Xiao. I think this could work very well, Xiang Fei is thriving as a bratty princess with zero obligations or expectations who is also in the middle of a snake’s nest filled with intrigue and manipulation, he gets to make so much chaos and holds most of the power, Shen Yuan gets to hold the leash of the hamster so he hasn’t yet gotten to murdering his own father to take over the sect but honestly for the better because that is so much paper work, in retaliation Xiang Fei doesn’t let Shen Yuan bring dangerous monsters to the castle, the hamster gets to be petty as a treat.

Then they find post abyss Binghe in the river and rescue him, this is OG Binghe so the protagonist tries seducing Xiang Fei and gets merciless rejected by what to Binghe seems like a pampered young lady playing hard to get, the Binghe braincell who has never been rejected by a woman before decides that is petty revenge time and spite seduces her “fiancé”, Gongyi Xiao, obviously only for revenge and totally no homo… Yeah, he is so good at revenge, any day now the little palace mistress will see the error of her ways and beg for Binghe and he will get to reject her + have the satisfaction of having take her man.

Shen Yuan is very moved about his platonic straight friendship with the protagonist, Luo Binghe is so good he even lets Shen Yuan drag him around dangerous beasts so he can befriend them, such a great protagonist! (They will figure out their feelings eventually, maybe, Binghe is so occupied with his “revenge” seduction that he kinda forgets about the actual revenge against Shen Jiu so that is a win at least).

At some point Xiang Fei and Luo Binghe get over their differences mostly because our dear heavenly demon realizes how sneaky the hamster can be and how that makes him a great allied so when the time comes, they start working together to get rid of the old palace master and leave Xiang Fei as the new sect leader, the problem is Binghe is too busy trying to flirt with an oblivious Shen Yuan so Mobei-Jun is the one doing that part of the work, one thing leads to another and honestly, a marriage between a sect leader and a king is obviously a great strategy to solidify both their powers so why not? OG Shang Qinghua does not get paid enough (because he does not get paid) to plan this stupid wedding but he can always steal some funds so it could be worse.
