Artist in Profile: Ben Lariviere "In an attempt to visually connect Toronto’s underground city with Toronto’s streets and pedestrian pathways, I have created a series of diptychs, showing street-level views of a number of streets, walkways, sidewalks, and stairways hung above photos taken in various TTC subway stations. Each pair of photos are connected by formal relationships. That is to say that the lines, shapes and other compositional elements are mimicked in each photo’s partner. The photos were also all taken perfectly horizontal , as to allow for an illusion that the photos hung below the street-level photographs could be showing what is directly below the street in that exact location." http://benlariviere.com/

Artist in Profile: Jenny Cronin
In Jennifer Cronin's work everything is created and sculpted by hand, photographed, and then displayed to reveal its construction. Having a great appreciation for dioramas, she utilizes the medium, and also references the sculpture itself. As the age of the museological diorama nears extinction, Jennifer acknowledges this romantic craft and calls into question various representations of truth and authenticity.
Jennifer completed a B.A. in Geography from the University of Victoria and is currently finishing her B.F.A. in Photography at Ryerson University.Â
