Pond season is officially over, with a frost advisory looming I decided to take it out today and be done with it. It was a short but lovely season this year. The first guests at the cold season setup with the heated bath were the Cardinal baby siblings.

The Blue Jays are currently dominating, and in the sharp sunlight of fall days, you can always tell all the little details in their pretty plumage. We are still waiting for some fall colored foliage but things are starting to happen.

And a nice surprise today was seeing this Whitebreasted Nuthatch on one of the photos from the CY65 trailcam (these cams have the option to take photos along with the video, which is very practical for an overview on what's captured). It was not on video, too quick, but made me very happy because I haven't seen one in months.
