La Part maudite, ouvrage paru en 1949 et écrit par le philosophe français Georges Bataille, propose une théorie de l'« économie générale » fondée sur le surplus d'énergie plutôt que sur la rareté. Bataille soutient que tout système, de la nature à la société, produit plus d'énergie qu'il n'en consomme, et que ce surplus – la « part maudite » – doit être dépensé, que ce soit par le luxe, la guerre, le sacrifice ou d'autres moyens improductifs. Ce livre constitue une critique radicale des modèles économiques conventionnels et explore la manière dont ce surplus est dépensé dans des domaines tels que l'art, la sexualité et le rituel.
