Studies WILL HELP YOU IMPROVE. I noticed so many nuances in the human head from doing portrait studies which helped me greatly in drawing and rendering. I’m just excited at the prospect of how much more I can do with even more studies to help me become aware of all the things I’m still not aware of!! The overall shape/silhouette of the head seems to be more important than the details (eyes, mouth, etc.) because it’s the biggest shape you see first. Drawing with less or no construction lines seems to allow more freedom with shape building. MULTIPLY LAYER over black and white sketch is definitely my friend for more accurate colors I had in mind. I finally see the benefits of studies for real now. :’D
