Haha um, I can’t say that that thought has crossed my mind at all. I have gif-ed both scenes (lots of playing with brightness/exposure and slowing down of frames) and it is clearly Pihla/Lauri, and they are definitely kissing. The scene above is also done in a single take, and you can see their faces illuminated when they enter and exit the scene. Whether COVID restrictions are the reason both kisses are brief/interrupted so quickly is possible...but unless there’s some crazy deepfake stuff going on or Pihla and Lauri both have identical twins, I’m 100% certain this is them.

“At the beginning, Karppi/Deadwind was written in the length of three seasons, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the story of Sofia Karppi is over when the third season ends. According to Jokela, “Karppi” might get continuation for example in the form of movie, just like “Sorjonen.”

OMG the additional screen stills for S3 have me in absolute turmoil. I AM NOT READY...and while there looks like there's some promising stuff...I'm also worried...

Following a good ol’ ponder, I have temporarily quelled my anxiety as I now think (and hope) that if the writers are clever, they will mirror the S1 ending but change the outcome as a way to demonstrate Karppi and Nurmi’s character growth.
