“ yeah i get that, ” she shrugged with a soft sigh people were constantly waiting for matilda to get into another relationship because her last one had been so public and had ended in flames. “ you can’t please everyone and you shouldn’t try to ! just do what makes you happy dix. ”

rolling her eyes at trish’s grim reply before turning her focus back to the young girl in front of her, “ ignore the grinch over here, her heart still hasn’t grown back to it’s proper size. ” sticking her tongue out at the blonde before popping up to take a picture with the girl waving goodbye as she scurried back to her friends. “ why do you hate love trish ? who hurt you ? ” though she said the words sarcastically she was honestly curious about her answer. 

“ i just really love hugs. ” tilly said with a shrug getting up to offer a hug to the young girl letting her snap a picture with her before she scurried away. sighing quietly she sat down across from the brunette with a shy smile, “ ah, sorry sorry, i honestly forget that i’m like...famous or whatever the fuck sometimes and people just assume they know things about my life. ”

“ oh no, we’re not a couple. ” she said to the girl who interrupted her lunch date. if there was one word for matilda it was...affectionate, it doesn’t matter if you met five minutes ago or if you’ve been friends your whole life she’s going to hug you or hold your hand and if she likes you enough she might even kiss you. not because she has romantic feelings but just because she loves affection and it doesn’t really matter who she’s getting it from which is why it wasn’t uncommon for people to assume that matilda was dating one of her friends but now her fans were doing it too. 

“ sure sure. ” tilly said with a shrug, it wasn’t that she wasn’t interested in this conversation it was that more so that she had her own suspicions but didn’t want to pry into his sexuality after all it was none of her business in the first place. “ there are lots of cultures where guys hold hands and it’s not suspicious at all. ”

“ do you have a light ? ” she asked popping up onto the tips of her toes with a hopeful gin. anyone who knew matilda knew that she never left her house without her weed and most of the time she had at least three lighters in her purse but of course they all decided to die within days of each other. 

“ oh you won’t get any lectures from me. ” pulling a joint from her purse and placing it between her lips. “ i didn’t think anyone else knew about this place.” she mused lighting the paper and took a deep inhale watching as the smoke twisted towards the clear blue sky.

“ juni ! juni ! juni ! ” tilly chirped skipping over to the brunette in a giant white gown that her stylist had picked for her, “ i look like i’m getting ready to get married not walk the red carpet. ” she giggled quietly before twirling softly, “ i don’t think this is the look but what do you think ? something more sleek and sexy or should i embrace the bridal look ? ”

“ what look ? ” she said innocently, “ there was no look ! i’m glad you’re enjoying yourself. ” giggling softly she tucked her legs underneath her with a nodd, “ oh i get that, i’m already in ‘diet mode’ because this is gonna be my first live performance since my album dropped and blah blah blah i have to be perfect. ”

rolling her eyes she stuck her tongue out at him as iris giggled and then mimicked her behavior, “ oh don’t get jealous sibling can’t you see me and my bean are bonding. ” sarcasm dripping from every word as she moved to sit down beside them, “ how’ve you been dude ? ”

“ oh but you can give me attitude and i’m supposed to just shut up and take it ? ” she snapped all of the anger she had bubbling up inside of her, this was a side of matilda that rarely ever saw the light of day but the tiny voice inside her told her that she didn’t care enough to hold back her feelings anymore and if she lost a friend so be it. “ i don’t know why everyone thinks they can just talk to me any kind of fucking way and i’m not going to do shit about it but i have always been the same person sia and if you don’t like my attitude, if you don’t like my complaining you can exit stage left. i was perfectly fine before you and i will be perfectly fine after you - actually you know what, i’ll make it easy for you. i’ll leave and we can just call this good. ” standing up she tossed her purse over her shoulder and without another word she was out the door.

“ what’d they say now ? ” she asked with a chuckle, “ honestly some of those stories are so funny to read, it’s almost as great as fanfic. ”
