Every time you see this, reblog it. There is always someone in college that will see this.
Relaxing things to do in the summer: Part Two Other parts [here].
Improve your handwriting!Ā Without school to pressure you and make you sick of taking notes, thereās plenty of time to try to perfect your handwriting. Thereās lots of different ways to do so, but Iāve found what works for me is to find an example of how I want my handwriting to look and slowly practice writing in the same style. Over time, it becomes integrated into my handwriting!
Rearrange your room! Itās super fun, helps you clean, and you can even map out what you want to do online.

Go on a run!Ā Okay, sure, itāll be hell. But it will help you get in shape, and exercise has tons of health benefits! Plus, thereās apps that can help you. Donāt you want an app?

Hang out with friends! I have this problem where I completely stop talking to all but one or two people over the summer. (Yikes!) Iām trying to stop that this year. Getting together with friends is fun, especially if they have a pet. (Not to mention this appĀ completely takes away the need to plan ahead of time.)
Write!Ā Itās fun, itās stimulating, it helps you learn new vocabulary and keep your brain in shape over the summer⦠Whatās not to love? Writing is super fun, not to mention the character and plot development that goes along with it. Whether youāre a beginner or expert, thereās something in it for you. Hereās a few *simple* websites that Iāve found that are nice to use when writing:
calmlywriter. features:Ā opening preexisting files, downloading files, inserting pictures, changing font settings,Ā āfocus mode,ā link to chrome extension for typewriter sounds, link to grammarlyās grammar check, and its own chrome app.
google docs. features: so much stuff oh my god, plus it saves automatically.Ā honestly Iād just go to the website to read about it if you donāt know already.
zenpen. features: invert colors, set target word count, and save text.
Read poetry! (Or write your own, if thatās your thing!) You donāt have to buy a fancy book in order to read poetry, you can find a lot for free online. Not to mention the multitude of YouTube videos on spoken word.

Swim,Ā if you live near a lake, ocean, or pool. Itās good exercise, works different muscles than running or biking, and is a great activity to do with friends! Itās incredibly good for you.
[x] [x] [x]
Color!Ā Coloring books are for everyone, and recently thereās been a lot of hype about detailed coloring books marketed asĀ āadult coloring books.ā Colored pencils are cheap (you donāt need super expensive ones), coloring books have tons of pages (thereās tons of different kinds as well), and itās really relaxing (just donāt color outside of the lines).

Go to a thrift shop!Ā Thrift shops have got to be one of the most fun places to go. You can find adorable clothes for amazing prices! I could try to list off some of my tips, but they wouldnāt be as thorough as these (below).
[x]
Make a flower crown! Seriously, nobody is going to do anything with those dandelions. Plus, flower crowns are pretty! Hereās a few different guides Iāve found.
[x] [x]
Press flowers! I mean, why not, if weāre still in that field? Pick a few dandelions and some other flowers and press them! You can use them in a journal or for decor.
[x] [x]
Visit a local coffee shop!Ā Look up coffee shops near you and drop by. Thereās something that makes coffee from local shops taste so much better! You can find out whether you want to go there with friends, and if you end up really liking the coffee shop, you can go there during the school year to study.
Make a terrarium!Ā Iāve always envied terrariums, and my friend recently made one (yes, itās absolutely gorgeous). Iām determined to make one this summer, so I rounded up a few how-tos sitting around in the black hole of the internet.
[x] [x] [x] [x]
Send a letter!Ā Whether to a pen pal or to friends you see every day, letters are a fun way to show someone you care about them. You can put stickers, doodles, and even pictures of things you think theyād like in them. Make it super cute by decorating the letter and the envelope! (Make sure the postman will be able to read it, of course!)
Bake cookies! Tons of inspiration for different kinds of baking can be found on Pinterest, along with other recipe cites referenced in part one of this series. You can eat them all yourself or strengthen friendships by forcing them to eat your cookies.
Learn something new! The amount of information that we donāt know is limitless.Ā Watch a mind-boggling science video, learn the scientific name for a pigeon, look up how to sky dive. Learning is fun and keeps our brains strong, entertained, and growing!
I hope this can help! At the time of posting, I only have 23 days left until school gets out (including today)! ā„ Theo
