Finally I can confidently say that I've finished the main characters of Team Green. And now I would like to talk about the symbolism I used for my artworks, about the costumes, and the appearance of the characters.
Aegon Targaryen «The Elder»
In canon, Aegon was described as a gloomy version of his father. He wore the crown of Aegon the Conqueror, lacked a warrior's physique, and, matching his father, had a mustache. For Aegon I chose black and gold as the main color palette the colors of his personal sigil. Nevertheless, I added elements that I attribute to Oldtown fashion: green stripes on the sleeves (a trend inspired by his mother's influence). He also copied his grandfather, Otto Hightower, by having gold buttons made with the initial "A" for Aegon. The ring on his index finger matches his crown.
Aegon's frame shows his dragon Sunfyre, the faction's sigil, and his tragic path: a hand reaching toward the sun enveloped in scarlet and green flames, and a goblet of wine with a drop of blood (his end). The fire symbolizes the Battle at Rookâs Rest where he suffered severe burns, as well as himself personally - a Targaryen with Hightower blood. Roughly speaking, his own decisions burned him.
Alicent Hightower «The Queen in Chains»
Alicent has a confident gaze; she knows what she wants. The Queen Consort wore her own crown, which I decorated with emeralds. She was the founder of the green faction. Most of her look corresponds to Oldtown fashion, which is especially reflected in her updo hairstyle and sleeves with puffs and vertical green stripes. She wears gold instead of the usual silver (which is present on the Hightower sigil) in support of her son's faction. Upon gaining the status of Queen Consort, her clothing became much richer, which can be seen in her dress adorned with embroidery and small emeralds, her large earrings, and her signet ring. A golden star rests on her neck, paying tribute to the Faith of the Seven, which holds immense weight in Oldtown. The necklace is decorated with pearls and emeralds, combining the majesty of her status with a tribute to her house.
Alicent's frame is a blooming tower: she managed to climb to the top and, even if only for a short time, put Hightower blood on the throne.
Aemond Targaryen «The Kinslayer»
Aemond was described as a hot-tempered and angry person, which I reflected in his eyes. He is the child who looks the most like his mother. He wore black clothing, which I slightly diversified with dark green shades and gold buttons. Aemondâs doublet has a dragon scale texture. The eye that his nephew carved out has been replaced by a bright sapphire, though the scar is impossible to hide. Like all dragonriders (my headcanon), Aemond wears an earring - an emerald symbolizing his dragon, Vhagar.
On Aemond's frame, you can see his brother's faction sigil, as he was an active participant in the struggle for the throne, along with his dragon, Vhagar. A line from the sigil leads straight to his end: Aemond falling down with a sword in his eye.
She was described as a plump and kind girl. She also resembles Viserys, mostly in his good nature and gentle smile. Her clothing is highly influenced by her mother, whose crown she wears. She wears a dress typical for Oldtown - flowing with a high waist. Nevertheless, she differs from her mother in many details. The color of her dress is only slightly greenish; for the most part, it is a soft blue to match her beloved dragon, Dreamfyre. She wears plenty of gold on her sleeves and chest in support of her husband's faction. Her hairstyle is adorned with a hairnet featuring blue diamonds, a typical accessory for King's Landing. On her chest, neatly covered by a delicate veil, rests a star, much smaller than her mother's, decorated with emeralds and diamonds. This shows that while she honors her roots, she does not share her family's ambitions. The bust of her dress is decorated with 3 diamonds symbolizing her three children, and ring - Dreamfyre.
On Helaena's frame, we can see the tragedy of her path. Although we know little about her, we can certainly be sure that she was a loving mother - the fates of Jaehaerys, Maelor, and Jaehaera broke her. On the right, we see the spikes that Helaena ultimately falls onto. Her frame is protected by Dreamfyre.
Daeron Targaryen «The Daring»
The charming young Daeron grew up in Oldtown and resembles his grandfather, Otto, the most. His fashion is entirely inspired by the region where he lived and was raised. His green doublet is decorated with exquisite embroidery that displays a prince's status. His hair is gathered in a low ponytail, like all Oldtown men wear it. The star on his chest is large, yet it is golden, symbolizing support for his brother-king. Daeron's clothing also lacks the usual Hightower gray; instead, the young man wears a dark blue shirt, matching the color of his own dragon's scales.
On Daeron's frame, we see a blooming Hightower tower engulfed in green flames, which symbolizes the tragic path and the end of the young prince, as well as his dragon, Tessarion.
Criston Cole «The Kingmaker»
Criston Cole was a charming knight who eventually became the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Ironically, his eyes were bright green. He wears white armor and a white cloak, with a golden dragon over his heart.
On his frame, we can see three sigils: the sigil of his house, the sigil of the kingsguards, and the sigil of Aegon's faction, which he served and for which he gave his life.
Otto was ambitious and had a large ego. He independently rose from a common lord to Hand of the King and, even if only briefly, put his blood on the throne. He is completely dressed in Hightower colors: silver elements, buttons with the initial "O", a large silver star resting on his chest, and the only golden element is the Hand of the King brooch.
On his frame, we see the Hightower tower and a hand with a torch and green flames, for it was he who came up with the idea to marry his daughter Alicent to the king to bring his grand ambitions to life. The reality was different, and we can see what remained at the end: a skull with a candle burning with a bright scarlet flame, the color of the Targaryens who ultimately destroyed him.
