“What do you want?” Younghyun asks as he turns away from the cashier to look at you, but quickly shakes his head as he remembers that it’s you and your coffee order never changes.
You roll your eyes at the way the girl behind the counter turns fiver different shades of pink as Younghyun smiles at her before ordering drinks for the two of you, “Can we get a 16 oz quad shot iced americano and a 12 oz iced vanilla latte, please?”
Your best friend reaches around to take his wallet out of his back pocket but you quickly stop him, “No way! You paid last time! And I still owe you for pizza!”
He wrinkles his eyebrows in confusion, “When did I buy you pizza?”
“Last weekend after your show.”
“I did?”
You nod, remembering the drunken stupor the two of you had gotten into after his show. You were surprised that the people inside the pizza joint let the two of you in, considering the condition you were both in.
You wave him off, flicking your wrist back and forth, “Move, so I can pay.”
He remains in place, unfolding the black leather and pulling out his debit card, “Here you go!”
You take a step towards him, bumping his hip with yours hard enough to cause him to take several steps sideways, his card dropping to the floor of the coffee shop. You flash a smile at him before handing your money over to a now disheartened cashier who reluctantly takes the bills from your hands, assuming the two of you were a couple and she no longer had a chance.
“You’re ridiculous,” Younghyun scoffs, looking around the coffee shop to see if anyone had seen your inner hockey player come out.
“Whatever, you love me,” you tease, walking over to the table where the rest of your friends were waiting.
After only a few steps you realize that Younghyun isn’t behind you, his feet still planted in the spot you had moved him from. There was an unreadable look on his face that only lasted a second as your eyes locked on each other. The familiar smile returning to his face as he finally joins you and the two of you take your seat around the crowded table.
