“Careful.”

“ He’s, yeah. Sure. He’s great. ”

“Wasn’t the question.”

“ Very. Like, I was in Tokyo for a few days and there’s no, like. Benches? Nowhere to sit in public, anywhere, because the people work so much and would probably fall asleep otherwise. Uhm. Mine? Alex? What about him? ”

“Does he make you happy?”

“ Oh, a few places. I was in Asia for a bit, which was, like. Great. Exciting, but also strange. But the scenery is amazing. I’m glad to hear that, really. ”

“Asia. That’s a complete different world, innit. And the boyfriend?”

“ Yeah, I mean. It was nice. Did always want to, I s’ppose. Didn’t think it’d happen quite like that, but when does it happen like you think? And, yeah. Thank you. But you too, right? Things are like, well with you? ”

“Right, when does it. Where you been to then? I’m sure you got a few stories to tell. Things are well.”

“ No question that you do. And no, not like. No. We don’t really, I just did some travelling actually. By myself. After, like, everything. School. ”

“S’what you wanted to do, right. Travel. Glad to hear everything’s working out for you.”

“ Room for improvement with what you’re putting on other people’s bodies forever? Or like, business? I, yeah. A few like, came along in different countries. ”

“Business. I know my shit. You’re travelling a lot then? With that boyfriend of yours?”

“ Ha. Yeah, that’s right. Still not a fan. You, yeah? Your own? That’s really cool. Like, proper cool. That seems like your thing. Going well? ”

“We all have our things, don't we. Going well, always room for improvement but can’t complain. See you got a few more yourself.”

“ Does it? I mean, yeah. Thank you. Didn’t think I’d be this good with blood, but it’s different. Than gory movies. You’re, like. Doing your own thing? ”

“Never knew where to look when it came to gory movies, I remember. Yeah, am. Have my own tattoo parlour in London.”

“ It ended up being, like, nursing. Which was a bit of a longshot with my stomach, but, you know. It’s cool. Interesting. ”

“Sounds like something you would do. Good for you. Glad it’s worked out.”

“ I, uh. Yeah. I am. In uni. Been for a while. ”

“Cool. What did you decide on studying?”

“ After last week this weekend felt way too short. And I’d love to say at least it’s summer soon, but that’s also just a pretend break if you have to write two term papers. I saw a heart catheter being put in, however, and queasy as I felt, at least it was exciting. ”

“So you're in uni.”

“Why, you think you’re a possibility?”

“Is this some Gossip Girl episode? Yeah. Didn’t think so.”
