Please help me support my friend Amal and her husband @moatasim-ashour. They are trying their hardest to provide for their daughters but it is nearly impossible under the conditions of the occupation. Amal is getting sick from malnutrition and drinking contaminated water. They aren't able to afford doctor's appointments, and the bills are unfortunately stacking up. Even their tent is shredded by shrapnel from attacks on the day of eid. Nobody should have to struggle for survival like this, and I pray that truth becomes a reality soon. Please consider contributing anything you can to ensure their wellbeing and safety. ♡

you know the more i think abt it, the more this is probably true, even if se hinton didnt want it to be. like, based on the movie portrayal when ponyboy and johnny ran to church, and the repeated shots of the pink purple sky behind the big cross, it's clear they were "running to their salvation." dallas told them about it, he probably knew of it because he had to hide in god's hands before. but it was a dirty and decrepit heaven, a church with no worshippers, even god forgot it existed, out in the country where nobody needs to be forgiven because theyre all "good." the church burned down and crushed johnny, the weight of his suicidality and loneliness took him, saved him from a life of abandonment. the fire also saved dallas, by destroying him. he tried to save somebody he loved (platonically or not) and failed and he was crushed by the loss and abandonment. he died in a brash display of bravado, ultimately killing himself bc he couldnt bear it. had he made johnny feel just as abandoned as he was?
