She shook her head looking down at her hand. “My country keeps losing and losing. Everything. And i, i feel that one day i might go down with it…”

“I agree that it isn’t the safest path I have right now, So i will send a messenger to go in my place. Thank you Catherine, for this news….” She said nodding slowly. Her hands fidgeted with her skirt and she began walking away.

“yes… well…” she said softly. Her mother was ruthless but she still loved her even though after everything she has done to Scotland and France. “I must someway make my way out to Scotland or i need to send someone there for my regards for my mother.” 

Mary stopped and breathed her face flushing. “My mother, how in gods name did she pass. “ She asked clutching her chest. 

“My dear, I know this is difficult, but you were aware of her condition.” she says softly as she places a comforting hand on her shoulder.

“And what, my lady brings you to French court?”

Mary swallowed and pursed her lips her face going pale. “What’s happened?” She said walking closer to Catherine.

“I’m afraid it’s your mother my dear. She..she has passed. I’m so sorry.”

“Catherine, Francis is resting, what is it?” Mary asked softly.
