You mentioned you liked the new supergirl movie and I wanted to ask whether we could perhaps request about her when your requests open up. Sorry, I know that you write marvel only but there are so little fics of my girl so I just thought I'd ask just in case.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!!
Hey my lovely! β€οΈ At this present moment in time I'm only focusing on Marvel characters but that's not to say I wouldn't be open to a Kara fic one day π Maybe a little crossover or something? Never say never!
I just read lesser part 2 AND YOUUUUUUU OMGAHSHSHSHSHSππππ THE THERAPY PART HAD ME BAWLINGGGGG..Brandon is such an ass and I was happy wanda and nat came to their senses and stood up to him. I loved how wanda protected reader from him when he was about to do something..i was literally saying FINALLLYYY YOU PUSH HIM BACK MOTHERRRRR...lol anyways loved itttt
I loved it thoooooπππ€£i needed that angst and comfort because if you had just full on angst I would have lost itπ BUT I WAS TORNNNN AT THE SAME TIMEEE. Like yes I liked the slow forgiveness but at the same time i wanted her to notttt AHWHWHSGSHSJSJ...
Anywayyyyss I cant wait for your next ficπ
LEENLYNN ππ
Thank you my lovely β€οΈ I'm really glad you liked it π Your idea was insanely popular, everyone was clamouring for a part two ππ
In my defence, Y/N didn't forgive her Moms' at the end, she just let them comfort her because she was love starved π Yes she has Kate but she wanted some love from her Mama's too π₯Ήπ₯Ή
Looooove the Lesser series. It's 2am where I am and I'm literally crying my eyes outπ So glad reader finally stood up to her brother and did a reality check on Wanda and Nat too (AND I am very glad Wanda finally, FINALLY did something to protect her daughter) but I genuinely cannot believe Nat was honest when she said "We've always loved you the same. You're our special girl" after they spent her whole childhood treating her as an unwanted afterthought in their family, what between the shitty gifts and the lack of attention and, frankly, affection and then expecting her to survive by herself in college as if she's not also a kid like Brandon is. I think she said that to lessen her (their) guilt and honestly she pissed me OFF with that bullshit excuseπβπΌ Reader is a saint for not calling her out on it. Honestly also very convenient they started to give a shit about her the moment their precious baby boy became a mess. Talk about being the spareπ
Honestly maybe I'm too petty but I hope reader goes no contact with them and they get a fucking REEEEEALITY check twice and realise you can't treat your child like they're shit for their entire life and then be forgiven when you decide to wake up years later and "Oh! Wait, I have a daughter too! Maybe I should treat her like I actually love her instead of as if she's a nuisance in my house!". Genuinly hope it haunts them their whole life my god.
Sorry for the super long message, I just wanted to rant about the new story because I genuinely love that AU so much and I loved the way you continued it but my gooooood, they do test my patienceπππ Wholly agree with Kate on the sentiment towards reader's family there.
Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us, even if they make me cry in my bed in the middle of the nightπ I hope you have a wonderful weekend dear author!!!π
LOL I do love when y'all feel so strongly about something I've written that I get asks like this π
This was a hard one to balance because in my experience with my own parents there is no movie moment where the fog lifts and they realise all their wrongdoings, and I think in this case Wanda and Nat did love Y/N as much as Brandon but maybe didn't like her as much and certainly didn't show her the same level of affection or care. I also think Y/N avoiding their calls and not speaking to them for a year made them want to pay more attention to her when she was home whereas previously they did take her for granted.
At least reader has Kate! πβ€οΈ Thanks for your message my lovely, I'm really glad you enjoyed it π
im trying to find a storie i read before maybe ur followers could help but it was one where wandanat were married and started going out with reader then when nat finds out reader is a student at the same university wanda works at she drags reader to their home and accuses her of using them and reader insists she didnt know and cries- please guys if you know this fic i miss it so much
Do my detective followers recognise this fic? π΅οΈ

[A/N] I still have requests to get through but y'all really wanted a part two for 'Lesser' so I wrote it! I apologise for the lack of fics lately, life has been very busy and I'm a bit hyper-fixated on the book series I'm reading at the minute π Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this one π

Your phone buzzes again with an incoming call and you glance at the screen, quickly returning your gaze to your laptop when you see the name βBrandonβ flash up on your screen. Like every time heβs called over the past few months you begin to worry that heβs trying to call to give you bad news β something happened to one of your Momsβ, a mission gone wrong, one of them has gone missing, one is in the hospitalβ¦ You figure though that if itβs important enough heβll leave a message or at the very least, youβll hear something on the news. Maybe Tony would get in touch with you, something heβd gotten into the habit of ever since youβd left for college.
After a couple of minutes your phone stops buzzing. Like every other time heβd attempted to contact you, Brandon hadnβt left a voicemail. At Thanksgiving your Momsβ had called a couple of times but hadnβt pressed the matter when you didnβt pick up the phone. Only at Christmas did Wanda send you a message. βHey Honey, assume you couldnβt make the airfare home. Hope you have someone to spend the holidays with. Love you.β
You couldβve flown home if youβd truly wanted to. Tony had offered you the money for the plane ticket. βActually kid,β Heβd said to you over the phone. βIβll do you one better. Get Happy to fly over with the private jet. You can ride home in style.β
βThatβs kind Tony and I appreciate it,β Youβd said. βBut I have plans for the holidays already. Iβm going to stay in California.β
Kate had read the message from Wanda over your shoulder, her nose wrinkling, βShe really waited until Christmas Eve to check if you werenβt coming home? She couldβve at least tried to care.β
Kate Bishop, the only girl in your college that youβd confided in about your shit parents. Kate hadnβt wanted to go home for Christmas either so the two of you spent a couple of nights in a fancy hotel, with plans to spend the day after Christmas at Universal Studios, somewhere you hadnβt been yet, before heading back to your respective dorms to catch up on studying.
Youβd shrugged your shoulders, βItβs not like it matters.β
βOf course it matters,β Kate had snapped. βThatβs your Mom! And thatβs the only message she sent you for Christmas? No promise to call, no asking if youβre okay, no actually checking if you have plans, just assuming that you do. In fact she probably assumes you donβt have plans, she just doesnβt want to know. The less she knows the less guilty she has to feel.β
Youβd heard all this before but there was something different about Kate getting angry on your behalf. Your best friend from home, Cassie, had ranted and raved about your Momsβ and your twin multiple times but you were used to her ranting and raving about anything. Cassie was lovely but also righteous, always angry about something, always worrying about someone suffering in some far corner of the earth, and when she ranted about your parents it felt as far removed as her other indignations. Kate though β good, funny, kind Kate who never had a bad word to say about anyone? It felt personal. It felt real.
Youβd realised why Kate got so upset on your behalf the day after Christmas when sheβd kissed you on the Secret Life of Pets ride, something youβd both ridden because it had a short queue. Youβd both been laughing and then suddenly her mouth was on yours and it had taken the ride operator three times to ask you to get off because the ride was over. When you went back to the dorm Kate had moved in with you for the remainder of Christmas break, the two of you scrunching up onto your single bed, her arm around your waist, your head tucked beneath her chin. It wasnβt exactly comfortable but it was comforting.
On New Yearβs Eve the first call from your brother had come through. Youβd been getting ready to go out β parties had never really been your thing but Kate had told you it would be casual, and that besides, she wanted to kiss you when it was midnight, and she wanted everyone to see. So youβd agreed to go, aiming for a look that wasnβt too casual but also wasnβt too dressed up. Youβd been debating what to do with your hair when your phone screen had lit up and youβd blinked at it in surprise when you saw Brandonβs name.
You hadnβt answered. He hadnβt left a message or tried to call again. Maybe heβd hit the wrong number, you figured. New York were three hours ahead of California, maybe heβd already had a few drinks and maybe tomorrow heβd be embarrassed when he realised heβd tried to call you. Youβd assumed that was the case until a week later he tried to call you again.
Itβs now May and youβre close to finishing your first year β heβs tried to call at least once every two weeks since then, along with sporadic phone calls from your Motherβs which you also ignore. Tony doesnβt give anything away when he calls, usually about once every three weeks β to check in, to see how your studies are going, whether you need any more money. He keeps the conversation on you, wanting to know about you and your creative writing class and whether youβve made any friends and heβd certainly wanted to hear all about Kate. Youβd found that you rather liked having someone ask after you, having an opportunity to talk about yourself uninterrupted, so youβd stopped asking him questions about the Avengers and let yourself tell him all the details of your college life.
As soon as your phone stops ringing you turn your attention back to the story youβd been working on. You need to submit a 10,000 word short story, and youβre struggling to know what to write about. You stare at the blank document in front of you when suddenly your phone buzzes again and you look down to see Brandon trying to call a second time. Your stomach twists with worry β maybe something really has happened to one of your Momsβ. No matter how they treated you as you were growing up, theyβre still your Momsβ. You donβt wish them ill.
Whilst youβre still wondering whether to answer the phone it stops ringing and you let yourself breath. A moment later the symbol appears in the corner of the screen to show that you have a voicemail. Your eye-brows furrow before you flex your fingers over the keyboard, determined to ignore it, not interested in what your brother had to say.
After Christmas Kate had told you she thought you should go to therapy. If anyone else had said that to you youβd have been embarrassed, angry even, but there was something about the caring, gentle way that Kate said it that made you think maybe she was on to something. Tony was giving you a generous allowance each month so you didnβt have to go through the collegeβs free counsellor, you could choose whoever you wanted. You found someoneβs profile online that you liked and they had immediate availability.
It had been awkward at first. Walking into a room and introducing yourself to a total stranger then being expected to immediately jump into the reason why youβre there, the thoughts, fears and worries youβve been holding onto your entire life. Your therapist, Emma, had given you a kind smile and had asked why youβd decided to start therapy. Youβd just about managed to say, βWellβ¦ Iβve always felt like my parents donβt love me as much as-β before youβd burst into tears.
Strange really. Youβd had no problem saying those words to Kate, to Cassie. Hadnβt had any problem telling your new college friends that you werenβt going home for the holidays, that you werenβt that close to your family without elaborating further. But something about opening up to this woman sitting across from you, a pen and notebook in her lap, made you burst into tears. To her credit, sheβd been very kind β letting you take a moment to pull yourself together, reassuring you it wasnβt unusual to cry in these sessions, that was why she kept a stock of tissues.
As months had gone by you hadnβt cried again but every time you left you would feel a heavy weight on your chest as memories of your childhood had flooded out of you, things you hadnβt thought about for years.
When you were ten years old you were desperate to see if you had powers like Wanda β sheβd carried you; it made sense that you might also be enhanced. Youβd been in your room, trying to concentrate, to produce the red, glowing magic that your Mom could conjure without thinking. Youβd thrown your arms out, trying to move gracefully the way that your Mom did in the battlefield when youβd suddenly heard laughter. Brandon. Whoβd filmed you on his phone and then showed your Momsβ who also laughed at you. Wanda had ruffled your hair but neither of them comforted you when your cheeks burned, your palms had gone sweaty and you hadnβt been able to look any of them in the eye for the rest of the night. Brandon had mocked your movements for weeks, snickering whenever it managed to successfully wind you up.
When you were sixteen Brandon had introduced his girlfriend to your Momsβ for the first time. Theyβd fallen in love with her instantly and youβd overheard Natasha describe her as βthe daughter they never had.β When sheβd met your eye sheβd quickly told you she didnβt mean it like that β youβre still not sure how else she couldβve possibly meant it.
Youβd told your therapist about the disastrous eighth birthday that had kick-started your realisation of how Brandon was treated compared to you. βI donβt want you to think it was about the gifts,β Youβd said, shifting awkwardly on the suede couch in your therapistβs office. βI didnβt need a PlayStation or an XBOX orβ¦ Any of that. Itβs justβ¦β
When you leave the silence hanging between you for too long Emma prompts, βYou needed your Momsβ. Needed them to notice you and love you as much as they loved Brandon. There were two of them. One of them couldβve gone into your room, even if youβd all eventually made your way into Brandonβs room. One of them couldβve sat with you. They couldβve let you take turns opening the gifts rather than making you wait until Brandon was done. It was your birthday too and yet you were made to feel like an afterthought.β
Youβd fiddled with your hands in front of you, βSometimes I feel like Iβm being overdramatic. I meanβ¦ Itβs not like they abused me. They never laid a hand on me, never even really raised their voice to me, they were always calm. I felt safe with them.β
Emma had nodded before asking in her calm voice, βBut did you feel wanted?β
Youβd kept your tears in until youβd got back to your dorm. Because no β youβd never felt wanted. Not by your Momsβ, your brother, any of the Avengers, not even by Cassie though it wasnβt her fault. There was only one person who had ever made you truly feel wanted.
Kate looks up from where sheβs lounging on your bed as she sees the expression on your face. Sheβd gotten into the habit of hanging out in your room whilst you attempted to write, always bringing snacks and words of encouragement. Instead of saying anything she just holds out her arms and you abandon your laptop, picking up your phone and climb onto your single bed, letting her pull you into her warm embrace.
βLook,β You say, showing her the voicemail from your brother.
Kate kisses your forehead before leaning her head on your shoulder, βWhat do you think he wants?β
βI donβt know. Heβs been trying to get in touch since New Years and Iβve always ignored his calls. Itβs the first time heβs left a voicemail.β
βYou donβt have to listen to it if you donβt want to. You donβt owe him anything.β
βHeβs still my brother-β
βAnd where was that energy from him when-β Kate forces herself to take a deep breath, pressing a kiss to your cheek this time. βYou donβt have to decide right now.β
βItβs sitting there, taunting me. I donβt want to look at that notification every day whilst I decide.β You sigh, βIβm going to play it.β
Kate doesnβt argue with you, secretly intrigued to hear what your brother could possibly want to finally leave a voicemail. You hit play, turning your phone on speaker so Kate can hear as well.
βHey Y/Nβ¦β It almost feels a physical blow to hear your twin brotherβs voice for the first time in months. It knocks the wind completely out of your sails so it takes you a minute to realise heβs slurring his words. βDo you remember when we were really little and we made that den in the- It was- You were so funny, always wanting to be the princess. It was kind ofβ¦ Anyway, I justβ¦ You havenβt been home in forever. I thought maybe you knew, through the twin connection, we- Remember we used to pretend we could read each otherβs minds? Anyway, things got kinda fucked around here but itβs not- Iβll be okay, I always am. Itβd be good to see you, hear how college is treating you. Yeahβ¦ Call me back. If you want, Iβm not that fussed. Yeah. Okay. Bye.β
Kate rolls her eyes, her arm tightening around your waist the moment your phone goes silent, βWhyβd he have to laugh like that when he asked how college was going?β
Youβd noticed that too, as if youβd already crashed and burned and he was just waiting for you to tell them. Although you were struggling with your final assignment youβd been surprised at how easily college came to you β how quickly youβd managed to make friends, how you breezed through your assignments. Tonyβs allowance meant you didnβt need to get a part-time job but you volunteered a couple of mornings a week at the on-campus library. College was easy β it was like youβd been waiting to get here. Now your life had officially begun and it was better than anything you couldβve imagined.
You didnβt have time to dwell on your brotherβs voicemail. Not when Kate began kissing your neck, her hand wandering up and down your body. There were far more important things to focus on than Brandon right now.
You finish your 10,000 word short story, submitting it with the rest of your final assignments. It had taken a lot of late nights, and a lot of resistance from you to stop Kate from inadvertently distracting you but youβd managed it. Now youβve packed up everything from your dorm room ready to go back to New York. Youβd hoped you and Kate could wait out summer break in California but it turned out that Kate was going back to New York too; to spend the summer with her Mother who was apparently worried that Kate had gotten into all sorts of stupid shenanigans whilst she was at college.
Happy picks you up again, starting the long journey home whilst Kate returns with her Mom, the two of them apparently planning a road trip so they can catch up on everything. Kate had asked her if you could join them but apparently her Mom had been a bit weird about it, something which didnβt fill you with joy to meet her one day.
Once youβre home youβre surprised at the warm reception your Momsβ give you. Youβve just stepped through the door with one of your boxes when Natasha quickly pulls it out of your arms, before gathering you in her own, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. βThereβs our sweet girl,β Natasha says, hugging you tighter. βWeβve missed you so much.β
Wanda is waiting eagerly behind her, and gives you a big hug the second Natasha lets go, βWe wanted to come pick you up butβ¦ Well, weβre glad youβre home. We shouldβve sent you the money to come home for Christmas; it wasnβt the same without you.β
βWe want to hear everything,β Natasha says, running a hand over your head as Wanda continues to hug you tight.
They both help you bring all your boxes inside then before you know whatβs happened; youβre sat at the kitchen table, a cup of tea in front of you as your Momsβ look at you expectantly, wanting to hear βeverythingβ. Itβs been nearly a year since they saw you or even spoke to you and thereβs a lot to tell them but you find that you donβt even know where to begin. You donβt think youβve ever had their attention solely on you, and you find it a little awkward.
βTony says that you met someone,β Natasha prompts.
So Tony had been talking to them about you. Neither of them had asked or tried other than the occasional sporadic phone call. No one had left you a message, not even Brandon after the one youβd ignored those few weeks ago. Eventually you nod and say quietly, βYeahβ¦ Yeah, her nameβs Kate.β
Your Momsβ look at you, clearly wanting more information, but your throat closes up as you realise you donβt want to tell them about Kate. Not because youβre embarrassed but because Kateβ¦ Kate is yours. The thought of you telling your Momsβ everything you love about Kate, and them telling Brandon, only for him to twist it around, to mock you, to mock herβ¦ Eventually you land on, βYeah, I really like her.β
βYou said she lives in New York?β Wanda asks. βMaybe weβll all have to meet up for dinner.β
You nod, having absolutely no intention of introducing your parentsβ to Kate. βTell us about your course,β Natasha prompts. βDid you-β
βHey.β
Your brotherβs voice interrupts from the doorway, and youβre surprised at the instant reaction from your Momsβ. Or the lack of. Rather than jumping up to fuss over him, to check if he needs anything, they both remain where they are. In fact, they both seem to visibly tense at the sound of his voice. Neither of them even turns to look at him.
Brandon looks like shit, you realise. Granted itβs been a long time since youβve seen him but he looks nothing like the boy youβd said goodbye to nearly a year ago when you and your Momsβ had dropped him off at NYU. There are dark circles beneath his eyes, his face looks hollow and thereβs justβ¦ A darkness to him that you hadnβt noticed before. Heβd always been the golden boy, basking in the light and love of your Momsβ, but now he seems like a shadow. βHey,β You reply quietly. βYouβre home too?β
Brandon lets out a snort thatβs half a laugh, half exasperation, βI guess you didnβt tell her yet.β Your gaze swivels to your Momsβ, neither of whom says anything. Brandon rolls his eyes, βCollege didnβt work out. Iβve been living at home since Christmas.β
Was that why heβd tried to call you on New Yearβs Eve? To lament the fact that college βhadnβt worked outβ for him. Maybe that was why heβd laughed when he asked about college, assuming you were struggling with it β if Brandon hadnβt managed it, how could you be doing okay? You glance at your Momsβ, but neither of them gives anything away. You rack your brains to remember what Brandon was even studying, feeling a little guilty when you realise you have no idea.
βItβs a good opportunity anyway,β Brandon says. βIβm going to start my own business.β
You wait for your Momsβ to back him up, to confirm itβs a good idea even if you think itβs an awful one, but they both remain silent, both of them staring awkwardly at the table. You take another sip of your tea before standing up, βSoundsβ¦ Great. I should probably freshen up.β
βWe thought weβd go out for dinner,β Wanda says quickly. βAnywhere that you want.β
You raise your eye-brows in surprise, your gaze immediately darting to Brandon, taking in the way his jaw tightens and his mouth sets in a thin line. It only took over eighteen years but itβs finally your turn to pick where you all go for dinner. βIβll have a think about it,β You eventually manage to say before slipping past your brother to head upstairs.
As you walk through the house you begin to notice things you hadnβt before. Glass missing from the frame of the family photo at the bottom of the stairs. A patched up hole in the wall just outside of Brandonβs room. When you peak into Brandonβs room youβre surprised to find itβs a complete mess, with empty plates and glasses on every surface, trash littering the floorβ¦ You can smell the stale air from the hallway and you wince, heading into your own room across the hall.
You take a seat on the edge of your childhood bed, remembering the countless nights youβd spent in here wishing they would just treat you like part of the family. Now youβd had your Momsβ full attention, theyβd been so happy to see you, theyβd even said you could pick where you all went out for dinnerβ¦ But it still felt like too little, too late.
As for Brandon... You had no idea why he was acting so strange. What had actually happened for him to leave college? You pull out your phone, instantly relaxing when you find a message from Kate. Your calm in the storm.
Summer break begins to go by at snailβs pace. One month passes and you learn that Brandon was kicked out of college rather than leaving of his own freewill. His girlfriend had broken up with him and heβd spiralled, turning to alcohol, neglecting his studies, picking fights with anyone he deemed had βlooked at him wrongβ. Your Momsβ had tried to appeal on Brandonβs behalf but the college had kicked him out anyway, not wanting the hassle of him. Brandon had come home, cursing the dean, cursing everything, insisting he was going to start his own business, that he didnβt need a degree to be a success. When it turned out to be harder than heβd anticipated, heβd fallen into a routine of skulking around the house, grunting or sneering at anyone who tried to talk to him, then spending every evening drinking alone in his room. If your Momsβ tentatively suggested he should meet up with his friends he rolled his eyes and mumbled something about not wanting to see those losers.
Youβd realised quickly Brandon had a temper that heβd never really shown before, only made worse when he was drinking. Your Momsβ didnβt look at him like their golden boy anymore but they still didnβt stand up to him, not even when he got right in Wandaβs face, screaming abuse at her before grabbing the nearest thing to him and slamming it against the floor. That turned out to be Natashaβs favourite mug which had smashed into a million pieces. Youβd simply watched, horrified. Brandon had tried to talk to you a couple of times, tried to get back to your usual rapport, trying to undermine your college, your course, the few friends that youβd told them about. It didnβt work this time though. Rather than humiliation and anger, you simply felt sad for him. Heβd spent his whole life being told he was Godβs gift to humanity and he was now discovering he wasnβt. That if he wanted to make something of his life, heβd have to work for it. And it didnβt look like he was willing to put in the effort.
You meet up with Kate at least once a week and she delights in your brotherβs downfall. βWhat?β Kate asks when you give her a look. βItβs a little bit funny.β
βIβm worried for my Momsβ. Heβsβ¦ Heβs so wound up Kate, I really thought he was gonna hit Mom the other day-β
βTheyβre Avengers; they could kick his ass if they wanted to. And they probably should, it would teach him a valuable lesson. But they donβt. And until someone does something, this is all heβs ever gonna be. A loser, stuck at home with his Mommyβs. Even his girlfriend sniffed out his shit and good for her honestly.β Kate grins at you, kissing your cheek, βSorry, sorry, I know heβs your brother. But come on, it's not like he ever cared about you.β
βI know,β You reply quietly, remembering the many conversations youβd had with Emma. Now you were home you were still talking to her weekly, just virtually. βItβs justβ¦ Hard to blame him entirely. If I was the one my Momsβ chose to shower with their love and light like that, would I have spared a thought for him?β
βYes,β Kate replies without hesitation. βYes, you would have. Iβve heard you talk about him Y/N, and I know that all you ever wanted was a brother, not a rival. You wouldβve insisted on things being fair.β
You glance at her, βIs this because of when I argued about the rules of UNO? Because-β
βUNO, Monopoly, pretty much any board game we play and you insist on looking up the rules,β Kate teases, kissing your cheek again. βBecause you like things to be fair. Brandon didnβt care about whether things were fair, he only cared about himself. And now the dynamic is shifting and he hates that.β
You lean your head on her shoulder, βIt must be embarrassing for him though. No matter what went down when we were kids, heβs still my brother. I didnβt want him to crash and burn.β
βYouβre a better person than me because I would be gloating about this every chance I got.β
You grin, nudging her chin with your head, βYeah, we all know.β
βSeriously though, itβs not your job to manage your brotherβs failure. He could apply to go to college next year or get an internship or something. His life isnβt over, Iβm sure your Momsβ have strings to pull if he would just get off his ass and ask.β Kate leans her head against yours, βI was thinking we could go away for a bit.β
βI donβt have any money.β
βMy family has a vacation home in Vermont. We normally go in December so itβll be empty right now. Just for a couple of weeks, we could go on walks and youβ¦ You could have a break. Every time I see you, you look more and more stressed out. You deserve a rest from all of this.β
The atmosphere in your house had been so weird and Kate had noticed it was taking a toll on you. You and your Momsβ had been tiptoeing around your brother because the slightest thing could set him off into a fit of anger. Natasha had patched up a couple more holes in the house, and Wanda was spending more time staring into space, simply responding βIβm fine darlingβ whenever you asked if she was okay. The thought of escaping that oppressive house for two weeks was a relief, and you immediately felt like you could breathe again.
That feeling of relief is short-lived and by the time you get home your chest is tight with anxiety again. Brandon is upstairs in his room, screaming and shouting about something, his ravings punctuated by the sounds of loud bangs, and your Momsβ are in the kitchen, Natashaβs arms around Wanda whilst she sobs into her chest. You hesitate in the doorway, before grabbing a dustpan and brush to sweep up the broken debris on the floor. It looks like a plate β or what used to be a plate anyway.
βThanks Sweetheart,β Natasha says quietly. One of her hands runs up and down Wandaβs back. βIβm sorry about all of this, itβs justβ¦ Heβs going through a rough patch. He needs time-β
βItβs August. He got kicked out of college eight months ago.β The words are out of your mouth before you can stop them, hard and bitter as you scrape the broken plate into the bin. βYouβve all been living like this for eight months?β
βHe- Heβs our son; he needs our support right now-β
βHow are you supporting him?β You ask, turning to face them both, feeling momentarily guilty when you catch sight of Wandaβs tear streaked face. But you know youβre right and now that youβve started you find that you canβt stop, βYouβre not supporting him, youβre enabling him. What has he actually done since being kicked out? He doesnβt even have a job.β
βHeβs been looking-β
βBullshit heβs been looking! He sits in his room wallowing in self-pity and you both just let him. Why bother actually looking for a job when you two will be there to catch him when he falls? I know youβve been giving him money and itβs being wasted on enabling his drinking habits-β
βHeβs not like you,β Wanda says defensively. βHis whole world fell apart when Vanessa broke up with him and now heβs struggling. Youβve always been so independent-β
βI didnβt have a choice!β You snap, the words that youβd wanted to say the day you told them you were moving to California tumbling out of your mouth. βIf I were the one whoβd flunked out of college thereβs no way you wouldβve let me behave like this! You think my first year was easy? Sometimes it was really fucking difficult but I didnβt have the security of a safety net, of anyone to catch me when I fall. I donβt have the luxury of being able to fall apart, I never have.β
βY/N-β
βHe needs an intervention. He needs you both to stop tiptoeing around him. He needs a fucking reality check. He needs-β
βWhat else do I need, Y/N?β
Your blood runs cold as you hear your brotherβs icy voice from behind you, and you slowly turn to face him. It still hits you even now just unrecognisable Brandon has become. Youβve always been jealous of how bright he is, how other people are always drawn to him. The difference between you now is stark, as if youβd stolen the light from him. As you glance at your Momsβ, you realise that neither of them is going to say anything to Brandon. Kate had been right, if he did try to physically hurt them, they could easily stop him. That wasnβt what they were afraid of though. They were afraid of him turning his back on them. Even now, even when he was making their lives so difficult and stressing them out to the point where Wanda had been crying when you got home, they still wouldnβt dare stand up to their precious boy.
Nothing was ever going to change.
βYou need,β You say in the calmest voice you can manage, βTo get a fucking grip Brandon. Vanessa broke up with you. Big fucking deal. People break up all the time. You shouldβve gone out for a couple of drinks with your friends and then gotten a grip.β
βYou have no idea how hard it was for me-β
βIt wasnβt hard for you! It was never hard for you. Youβve had everything handed to you on a silver fucking spoon your entire life and the moment you were faced with a real problem you made it everyone elseβs problem.β Your voice is still quiet but cold and firm. βOur Momsβ would do anything for you, anything at all. And this is how you repay them? Smashing up their house, making them miserable in their own home-β
βWhat the fuck would you know about it, Y/N? You think youβre so much better than me for sticking it out at college but youβre doing creative writing. Youβre never going to do anything with that-β
βMaybe I will, maybe I wonβt, but at least Iβm doing something Brandon. Youβre a loser bumming off the Momsβ and what have you got to show for it? No girlfriend, no friends, no job, nothing.β
βIβm a loser? Iβm a loser? I had way more friends than you in school, you were the one that the other kids made fun of, that-β
βWeβre not kids anymore, you fucking baby!β You snap. βYou need to grow the fuck up and-β
What happens next happens so quickly that you barely have time to register it. Brandon, holding his fist up, moving towards you, and you flinching away. A flash of bright red light, a scream and when you open your eyes again, Brandon is crumpled on the floor, both of your Momsβ staring at him, Natasha shocked but Wandaβs face set in cold, hard anger.
βDonβt you dare lay a hand on your sister,β Wanda practically hisses. βSheβs right. Weβve tiptoed around you for too long and itβs not doing you any favours. Me and your Mama have been waiting patiently for your anger to subside, but youβve gone too far now. We donβt hurt each other in this house. Me and your Mom have been letting you hurt us for too long but I won't let you hurt your sister.β
Brandon glares at her, βMom-β
βYou canβt stay here anymore,β Wanda says. βI wonβt have the worry of you potentially hurting your sister hanging over my head while sheβs here.β
βAre you- Youβre really going to pick her over me?β Neither of your Momsβ says anything and Brandonβs nostrils flare with irritation, βWhere the Hell am I supposed to go?β
βWeβve been giving you money for months,β Natasha says, her own voice cold and hard. βIf youβve wasted it, that sounds like your problem.β
βYouβre a smart boy, Brandon,β Wanda says. βIβm sure youβll figure it out.β
Thereβs a long, tense moment of silence before Brandon climbs to his feet, his eyes blazing as he storms out, slamming the door so loudly behind him that the entire house shakes. Wanda turns to you, reaching out to place a hand on your arm, βBabyβ¦ Are you okay?β
You nod, dumbfounded, βYouβ¦ You didnβt have to do that. Iβm going away with Kate tomorrow. She has a holiday home, Iβll be gone for a couple of weeks-β
βWe did have to do that,β Natasha says quietly. She looks at Wanda then runs a hand through her red hair, βWe did. Fuck.β
βI didnβt realise that you thoughtβ¦β Wanda lets her voice trail off, her hand moving to your face to cup your cheek. βY/N, I didnβtβ¦ We never meant toβ¦β
βHave you been okay?β Natasha asks, moving to stand on your other side. βAt college? How have you been paying for everything?β
You swallow hard and then mumble, βTony sends me an allowance every month.β
Wandaβs eyes water, βTony. Of course.β
βAnd youβve been alright?β Natasha persists. βYou havenβtβ¦ Have you struggled with anything? Assignments or boy problems or friends-β
βYou both know I have a girlfriend so no, no boy problemsβ¦β
βI didnβt even know that you liked-β Wanda has to look away.
Natasha just nods, βYou said youβre going away for a couple of weeks? Do you want me to help you pack?β
You hesitate but figure that the distraction of packing your suitcase will be better for all of you than sitting there brooding on Brandon, everything heβs done and where he might be right now. So you nod, leading your Momsβ upstairs, Natasha walking stiffly with her fists clenched, Wanda with tears starting to silently trickle down her cheeks again.
Wanda sits down on your bed whilst Natasha pulls out your suitcase, opening it on the bed and then looking around, βWhereβs she taking you?β
βVermont,β You answer.
Wanda looks at you, βKateβ¦ Sheβ¦ You like her? She treats you well?β
You nod, giving her a small, sad smile, βYeah. Sheβsβ¦ I really like her.β
βDo you have a picture of her?β Natasha asks.
You hesitate. You hadnβt shown them a picture of Kate or gone into any details about her but you feel like you canβt deny them this after everything that happens, especially since youβre going away with her for two weeks. So you take out your phone and show your Momsβ your lock screen, a selfie of you and Kate where Kateβs sticking her tongue out and squishing your cheeks between her fingers. Wanda smiles, βSheβs pretty. What is she studying?β
βBusiness Studies, her Mom wants her to take over her business someday.β
Both of them continue asking questions about her and you answer easily as you and Natasha work on packing your suitcase. Wanda eventually smiles through her tears when you recount another story of Kate doing something ridiculous just because sheβd been dared to, and Natasha actually laughs. Eventually you stand back, looking at your fully packed suitcase and say quietly, βI do think he needs help.β
Natasha and Wanda glance at each other before Natasha nods, βI know. I know he does.β
βDo you think heβll be okay tonight?β
βHeβll manage one night. No doubt heβll be back here tomorrow and thenβ¦β Natasha hesitates. βWeβll look up AA meetings. Or get counselling orβ¦ Something. Heβs underage so I know he shouldnβt be butβ¦β
βItβs time he got a job,β Wanda says. βYouβre right; we let him wallow around in self-pity for eight months. Enoughβs enough.β
You purse your lips together, looking between them both, βI love you both butβ¦β
βCan we call while youβre away?β Wanda asks. βWe tried while you were at college but you never answered and you never called back. We thoughtβ¦ We thought maybe you didnβt want to talk to us.β
βI did want to talk to you,β You admit. βI justβ¦ I wanted you to try. To try harder. To prove that you loved me.β
Natashaβs face falls and she pulls you into her arms, βOh Y/Nβ¦ Of course we love you.β
βNot as much as Brandon though,β You mumble into her shoulder.
Natasha shakes her head and closes her eyes, βNo. Thatβs not true. Weβve always loved you the same. I know it didnβt always feel like that. We messed up so many things Y/N but please donβt ever think we loved you less. I swear we didnβt. Youβre our special girl.β
You donβt say anything and Wanda stands up to join in the hug too. Both your Momsβ tuck you between them, both holding you tightly. You canβt remember them ever doing this for you when you were a kid. Natasha presses a kiss to the top of your head and you close your eyes, allowing yourself a moment to finally accept comfort from both of your Momsβ.
You donβt forgive them for everything that happened when you were little. When you go back to college, youβre not sure if you will answer their calls. Youβll probably answer while youβre in Vermont, just to make sure Brandon hasnβt done anything too crazy while youβve been away. But what matters the most is that youβre not that upset little girl anymore.
Youβd stood up to Brandon when your Momsβ had been too afraid. You werenβt alone anymore β you had plans to meet up with Tony once you were back from Vermont. You had friends whoβd been messaging you throughout summer break, wanting to know what you were up to, some sending you links to accommodation for when you all returned for the new academic year. And then there was Kate β the first person whoβd ever truly seen you. You donβt forgive your Momsβ yet. Maybe you never will. But youβve started to forge a new life where you donβt need them. Which is more than Brandon can say.
Kate Bishop x Fem!Reader
You're tasked with finding out what happened to Kate whilst she was missing
TW's: Minor descriptions/mentions of violence & torture, nothing graphic π
[A/N] AHH so some of you may have noticed I haven't posted for over a week, I explained in response to an ask yesterday but last week my writing motivation was in the gutter, then I had the most incredible weekend of my life so I decided to just have a week off. Then today I was struck with inspo and I wrote a cheeky little Kate fic which I hope you all enjoy! β€οΈ
You linger awkwardly in the doorway to the medbay as the medics work hard at patching up Kate. She looks rough β Clint had found her just in time after Kate had been missing for eight weeks. Any length of time missing in action is bad, but this was the longest that any Avenger had been untraceable for. Now she was malnourished, badly dehydrated and littered in cuts and bruises. When Clint had lifted her up into his arms, sheβd barely registered him or that she was being moved.
Tony puts a hand on your shoulder, βI know you feel uncomfortable about this. But itβs the easiest way.β
You nudge him off your shoulder, the guilt rising in your stomach as you remember why youβre here. Not to support Kate, not to be her friend, but to use your power to shift through her memories, to see what happened to her while she was away. Tony might say it was the easiest way but for who exactly? Kate? You doubted it β this was her trauma and you were going to delve into it without her permission or knowledge. Easier for Tony no doubt to hear the information second-hand from you. There was a reason he hadnβt told Steve about this, knowing the Captain would chew him out if he knew.
Youβd protested when Tony had asked but had agreed, probably far quicker than you ought to have. Because a dark, twisted part of you needed to know what happened while Kate was away. You wanted to memorise the faces of the people that had done this to her and hunt them down one by one. If anyone was going to find out what happened, you wanted it to be you. You wanted to be the first, the one who knew every gruesome detail. You wanted to take on the burden of Kateβs pain. Tony might be in this for himself but it would be easier for Kate not to have to relive the traumatic events that had occurred. That was what youβd told yourself anyway.
By the time youβre allowed inside Kate is asleep, hooked up to machines and looking peaceful despite the dark bruises on her face. Tony takes a step into the room but one hard glare from you has him holding his hands up and backing out quickly, leaving you to your work. You turn your attention back down to Kate, running your fingers gently over her forehead to brush a strand of dark hair out of her face. Your gaze turns to her lips, remembering the fairytales youβd read as a child. Maybe one kiss would be enough to fix all of this mess-
You quickly look away, your cheeks burning. Kate wasnβt your girlfriend. Not that it stopped you from thinking about her every hour of the day, glancing at her constantly during training, volunteering first whenever she was looking for a sparring buddy, making sure you sat next to her at the dinner table, or laughing the loudest at all of her jokes, including the particularly cheesy ones. Your infatuation for Kate hadnβt gone unnoticed by anyone except for Kate herself apparently. Unless she just didnβt like you like that but hadnβt wanted to hurt your feelings.
Sometimes though, youβd catch her looking at you, see the way her eyes would quickly swivel away when you caught her gaze, and how sheβd wipe her hands on her pants, and youβd wonder if maybeβ¦ There was something there after all. Not that it mattered, neither of you was brave enough to make the first move.
Kate was always getting herself into trouble and this wasnβt any exception. As you press your fingers to the side of her head, youβre instantly flooded with her memories β how sheβd approached a gang of criminals without any back-up, nobody any the wiser that Kate had intended to do that, how theyβd outnumbered her easily, carried her back to their lair. Then the torture began.
It was difficult, but you forced yourself to watch as Kate valiantly refused to give away any information despite what they did to her. It had been horrendous and Kate had screamed and cried, but whenever they began to question her again sheβd just purse her lips together and breathe through her nose, fighting the pain, refusing to give anything away. For four weeks she hadnβt cracked until one day, theyβd tried a different tactic. One of the men walked into the room and Kate braced herself for the usual blows, for the pain to begin, but they merely held something up for her to see. Kateβs eyes had blinked, slowly coming into focus until theyβd landed on a necklace in his hand. Your necklace.
Youβd had to come out of her memory for a moment, gently touching the necklace around your neck, the one that you wore every single day without fail, even on the battlefield. It hadnβt been yours β the one the man had been holding. Youβd have known if it had gone missing. A good replica maybe, but it definitely hadnβt been your necklace. You look down at Kateβs sleeping face, watching the way her chest slowly rises and falls, before slowly placing your fingers on the side of her head again, letting the memories filter into your own brain.
Youβd been young when youβd realised youβd possessed this ability. Your fingers had touched your younger brotherβs head while he slept, and your own head had been invaded by his memories, seeing the world through his eyes. It had been difficult to sift through them at first, but youβd taught yourself, secretly practicing on your family every night. One day youβd tried when your Mom was awake, just to see if you could, and sheβd pushed you off her, clutching her head in her hands. The look on her face when she realised what you could do would be burned into your brain forever. They didnβt trust you after that. You were locked in your room each night, your power a dirty secret. It had taken you years to admit your abilities to the Avengers.
Your mind focuses on the necklace in the masked assailantsβ hand, his voice coming through clearly into your own head, βWe have Y/N. If you do not answer our questionsβ¦ Letβs just say it will end badly for her.β
Kate had taken a deep breath, her chest rising and falling rapidly before rasping out, βI donβt believe you.β
βThat is up to you. Itβs your choice to make.β
Kate had folded, almost instantly. All their questions had been answered but they still hadnβt set her free. It seemed they almost delighted in tormenting her. Maybe they had a personal vendetta against her, maybe against the Avengers, or maybe they were just evil. One afternoon her captors had taunted her, βItβs your choice Kate Bishop. We can either hurt you, or we can hurt Y/N. What do you want to-β
βMe,β Kate had hissed through her teeth without hesitation. βHurt me. Justβ¦ Leave her alone. Let her go, I told you everything you wanted to know. Please leave her alone. Please.β
Kate had endured torture for weeks, believing sheβd been protecting you, unaware that youβd been safe and sound at the Avengers compound the entire time.
When they discovered Kate had managed to cut through one of her bonds, theyβd threatened to go to βyour cellβ, to terminate you for her insolence. Kate had cried and begged for your life, so hard that sheβd nearly vomited up the little food she had in her system. Theyβd retightened her restraints and had warned her not to try again or you would suffer. Kate didnβt make any more attempts to escape.
Eventually Kateβs captors had grown tired of their torment and had disappeared, leaving her alone with no food or water for two full days. Kate had been strapped down, unable to move, too weak to even call out for help. If Clint hadnβt found her when he had, she would surely be dead.
Your eyes burn as you remove your hand from her head, your vision returning to the present, focusing on the steady rise and fall of Kateβs chest. Part of you knows deep-down that Kate wouldβve been hurt regardless but to know that she bore the pain in an attempt to protect you makes your heart twist painfully. Your hand drops down to her arm, running your fingers down it as softly as possible before taking her hand in yours.
Why had they used you? The obvious choice for blackmailing Kate wouldβve been to pretend they had Clint. Maybe they didnβt have anything easily identifiable as his, but Yelena wouldβve been an easy choice too - everyone knows how close Kate is to Natashaβs sister. Or even her beloved dog, Lucky. They couldβve picked any of the Avengers, but theyβd chosen you. And Kate had crumbled instantly.
βThank you,β You whisper, knowing that Kate canβt hear you but wanting to tell her anyway. βYou shouldnβt have done that butβ¦ I wouldβve done the same for you. In a heartbeat.β
βWell thatβs a relief,β Tony says, running a hand through his hair. βOne less thing to worry about. Weβre obviously still in the process of trying to find them, but at least we know Kate didnβt give anything away.β
Youβre sat opposite Tony in his office, having just given him an edited account of what happened to Kate during her captivity. Although you hadnβt downplayed any of the suffering that Kate went through, youβd omitted the parts where theyβd lied to her, had convinced her you were being held captive too. Hadnβt told him that Kate had answered all of their questions, and theyβd continued to torment her anyway. In your version, Kate refused until eventually the gang gave up and left her for dead.
Youβd find them long before the Avengers did. Although they were masked in Kateβs memories, youβd managed to sift through and find enough identifiable details to track most of them down, which would surely lead you to the rest. And when you found them, their deaths would be slow and painful. Kateβs torture would be a drop in the ocean compared to what you had planned for them.
βIβm not doing that again,β You tell Tony. βIf this happens to anyone else, you ask them what happened, or we ask for their permission if itβs too painful for them to discuss. It was a violation and youβre never to ask Kate about it.β
Tony simply nods, watching thoughtfully as you stand and leave his office.
Nobody asks Kate about what happened, and she doesnβt offer any information. At first, youβd worried that Kate would panic, would insist on telling everyone the secrets that sheβd told the masked assailants, to let them know finding them should be a priority. But she hadnβt. Youβd kept an eye on all internet forums, particularly on the dark web, but everything remained quiet. Whatever they planned to do with the information theyβd obtained from Kate, they hadnβt leaked it yet. Not that it mattered β theyβd soon be dead anyway, the secrets dying with them.
One evening you keep Kate company while the others are busy, playing a board game with her. Your counter is only a few places away from the end when Kate says quietly, βI know you know.β
You avoid her gaze, slowly picking up the dice. βI donβt know what youβre talking about.β
βI thought you were- But- You were here the whole time, werenβt you?β You hesitate, keeping your gaze on the board game in front of you before you nod, just once. Kateβs own gaze drops to the blanket covering her legs as she fidgets, βIβ¦ I hoped that was the case.β
You swallow hard, βBut you still didnβt risk it.β
Kate shakes her head and replies in a soft voice, βNo.β
You both sit there in silence for a long moment, neither of you making a move to continue your game before you eventually ask, βWhy?β
βWhy what?β
βWhy didnβt you ask them for more proof?β
βIβd already lost track of how long I was there andβ¦ I was pretty out of it, I was so hungry and tired, and my throat was aching with thirst, everything hurt andβ¦ Because it didnβt matter. If there was even a chance that you couldβve gotten hurt, I wasnβt going to risk it.β
βKate-β
βYou wouldβve done the same and you know it.β
βI donβt-β
βHow long are we going to skirt around this, Y/N?β
Your gaze flicks up to meet hers and there it is β the looks youβve been giving her reflected in Kateβs own eyes. The longing, the yearning. You swallow hard, your throat suddenly dry, βI donβt know if now is the right time-β
βI nearly died Y/N. If this isnβt the right time then I donβt know when is.β Kate reaches out and takes your hand in hers, βPlease. You know how I feel about you. You saw it.β
βYou- You wouldβve done that for anyone.β
βOffered to be hurt to spare someone else? Probably, yeah. But I wouldnβt have sold our secrets out like that. Yelena would kick my ass if she knew how quickly I caved.β
βYou didnβt cave quickly though. Thatβs why they knew they needed to change their tactic.β You squeeze her hand, careful not to apply too much pressure in case you accidentally hurt her. βI just donβt understand why they picked me.β
βBecause youβre my biggest weakness Y/N, and they knew it. Knew it even before I did. If it had been Clint or Yelena or any other Avenger in that room, I wouldβve held onto those secrets, and not because I think you canβt handle your own, but because I just couldnβt risk it. If it had been anyone else, I wouldβve called their bluff but youβ¦ God, youβ¦β
Before you even realise what youβre doing, you lean forward and kiss her, relief flooding through your veins when she immediately kisses you back. One of your hands cups her cheek, your other arm moving around her waist, making sure to be careful, so careful because Kateβs still hurt and because youβve waited so long for this, you want it to be gentle, to be loving. Itβs everything you couldβve hoped for, and although itβs slow and soft, itβs also full of longing. The longing youβve both been feeling for so long, finally coming to the surface.
When you pull away, you lean your forehead against hers, βYou still shouldnβt have done that.β
βYou can tell me off when Iβm feeling better.β
βI wish I had healing powers instead of these stupid ones. Seeing you hurt fucking kills me.β You press a kiss to the back of her hand. βI wish Iβd been the one to find you.β
βYouβre here now. And you know everything andβ¦ You didnβt rat me out.β Kateβs eyes are teary and she blinks quickly. βEveryoneβs going to be so mad when they find out. I told them so much-β
βItβs fine,β You tell her quietly. βI already told Tony. He said to keep it between us for now, that heβll figure it out with Fury, butβ¦ You were under a lot of pressure Kate. Please donβt feel bad. Heβs not mad at you and nobody else needs to know except for us, okay?β
The lie was worth it just to see the relieved expression on Kateβs face.
βWill you come back tomorrow?β Kate asks.
You hesitate, βI uhβ¦ Iβve actually been assigned a mission that begins tomorrow.β
Another lie. Youβd requested a week of last minute personal leave which Tony had granted without question; probably still feeling bad for making you sift through Kateβs memories. You were going to begin your hunt, find those motherfuckers one by one until they were all dead. Theyβd chosen to use you to get to Kate β you werenβt about to let them get away with that.
Kate looks disappointed and you lean over to press another kiss to her lips, βIβll be back before you know it. Iβll pick us up some βBad Pizzaβ and then we can watch a movie together. Maybe youβll feel well enough by then to leave the medbay and we couldβ¦ Maybe we could spend the night in my room.β
Kate feels her cheeks heat up at the thought and she can only nod mutely. It makes you smile and you canβt resist kissing her again. Β βAre you mad?β
βAbout what?β Kate asks breathlessly against your lips.
βThat I looked through your memories.β
βI canβt say Iβm thrilled,β Kate admits. βBut Iβm glad it was you.β
βI only looked at the last few weeks,β You mumble in between giving her more quick kisses. βI promise.β
Exhaustion catches up with Kate and you help her lie down, fussing over her pillow, the blanket, making sure sheβs as comfortable as possible before kissing her again. Kate gives you a small, drowsy smile as she allows her eyes to close. You sit by her bed, stroking her hair to help her drift off to sleep, your eyes burning as you remember your plan for tomorrow and the next few days.
Finding the first man would be easy. Incapacitating him, sifting through his memories, finding his shitty friends would also be easy. But the easiest part would be listening to their screams as you tore them apart, bit by bit, slowly but surely. No one messes with your girl β no one.
I loved the Supergirl movie. DC hasnβt had a good run of movies for a while and I thought it was good redemption and built up the new clay face and Batman 2 movie coming out later on
I canβt stand the people that said the movie will be bad before they even watched it. And it was very well done as an adaption the the comic woman of tmr.
and it also represented a very real issue in the world, child trafficking among females(like the red room all over again god)
and let me say, Jason mamoa as lobo cured my heart. He did a great job and so did Millie Alcock
FULLY AGREE, I've always been more of a Marvel girlie than a DC girlie and to be honest only agreed to see 'Superman' last year because my bestie wanted to see it and because I'd heard good things online. It hooked me back in and I was so excited for 'Supergirl' which as we've all said, WAS EXCELLENT β€οΈ
Maybe I'm just a fun hater but I hate when people are overanalysing and asking questions and getting mad before the movies even come out like maybe all this will be addressed in the movie? Maybe we should all wait and see the finished product before forming such firm opinions? IT'S SO ANNOYING!!

when i watched it in the cinema there was this little boy and his parents. both the boy and his mum LOVED it they gushed about it as soon as the credits rolled. the little boy loved it. then his dad said it was rubbish and that the superman films were better and the boy did a complete 180 saying the film was rubbish. it hurts to see grown adults actively impacting their young children like that. that'll probably shape a lot of his opinions in the future, just because his father couldn't even pretend he enjoyed the film because his son and wife enjoyed it
It actually boils my piss like why do they have to do that? If he really, truly didn't like it, could he not just have kept his trap shut and let his wife and son have their enjoyment and happiness?
People irritate me so bad, I went to rewatch 'Orphan: First Kill' at the cinema because 'Orphan' is my favourite film of all time and I was so excited to finally get another film in the franchise. A man sat further down the aisle from me was on his phone the ENTIRE time the film was running and at the end stood up and declared, "That was shit." HOW WOULD YOU KNOW THOUGH!? You didn't even fuuuuuuucking watch it!!
Anyway, 'Supergirl' was fantastic, and I actually don't care what men thought about it
hi, itβs me again! [was katehopecore, but changed my username] and i saw a few posts back that you saw supergirl and you loved it aaaaand i NEED someone to gush over the movie with because i loved it too! like when i say INSTANT FAVE! iβve already seen it twice in theaters and kiiiinda wanna see it a third time. itβs an obsession. i love kara sm right now π«
- π«
It was SO GOOD, ruined only by the misogynistic shit I've read about it after the movie because of course a female-led comic book movie is instantly 'shit' even if it's actually incredible ππ
Anyway, it was incredible, Milly Alcock was incredible and I loved it so much! It actually convinced me to pick up my first DC comic and I read 'Supergirl: Misadventures in Midvale' and it was so good, so many hot girls and the pets were so cute and an amazing storyline β€οΈ People are are really out there hating anything fun THIS MOVIE WAS SO GOOD!!
here's a complaint that no one should take to heart π
writing requests when people provide a whole script, perfect love it.
writing reqs when people give me the character, who reader is and what's happening, perfect love it.
writing reqs with that awkward in-between amount of detail...not a fan. like when they give that level of detail where you can't just basically make it up yourself, but it's not a full script either and it makes it unnecessarily harder to write π₯Ή
See like you, I wouldn't want anyone to take anything to heart or think 'oh no she hated my request' because that's definitely not the case but I also like having a bit of creative freedom. It's lovely when people have ideas in mind but it can be hard when I'm writing and I feel the story heading somewhere but the requester has asked for it to go in a direction that doesn't feel natural to me π
I have kinda reached a point where I think 'well, I'm the writer and I'm writing it for free' and sometimes I do steer it in a way that I would prefer or change minor details but some can be difficult! π₯°
Hey my sweetie! β€οΈ I'm okay, hope you are too?
I assume this has come through due to my lack of updates for the past week π Here's what happened - I started two fics last week but my writing motivation was quite low, and I was due to go away over the weekend so I decided to take a week off with the intention of getting back into posting today.
Except I went to bed at 2AM then had to get up for work so I decided not to attempt writing whilst I was so tired today π So I'm all good, just trying to wait for the inspo to strike! β€οΈ
I had such a good weekend though, I saw My Chemical Romance at Wembley on Friday and on Saturday, then me and my bestie went to watch 'Ride the Cyclone' yesterday for the first time and literally everything was so good, such a good weekend πβ€οΈ
Thanks so much for checking in my lovely, hope you're okay as well πβ€οΈ

I just wanted to let you know you're one of the only Marvel writers I consistently check the account of for new stuff. I love the way you write! π Thanks for everything you've written so far and everything to come!
That is so sweet, thank you so much πβ€οΈ I'm so glad you found my account and that you enjoy my work, it means so much to me β€οΈβ€οΈ
