MAGICKAZAM!!

“Magilou, get out of my lab.”

“ How tragic for you. It must be horrible not being able to sleep 8 hours a night.” Velvet retorted in her taciturn tone. She had to ponder for a moment what it would have been like to be Magilou–to be able to sleep without the constant corrosive nightmares that plagued her.

The thought of her sleeping so undistributed….it angered her. Still, she pushed the thought away and shifted to look back at the stars. She charted the constellations with her eyes.

“ Sleep comes easy to you, doesn’t it? You could sleep for a few more hours before the crew even begins to wake. Why waste your time talking with me?”

“Oh very much so!” Eight was such a generous number after all. The hours likely needed for rest that had been forsaken for study and training in the past had been unfortunately ingrained into her being--but she wouldn't tell Velvet that.

--But could it also be a side effect of...that? It was a thought that occasionally crossed her mind--not that Magilou cared too much to think on it.

“I already told you it's quite a lost cause…” The witch hangs her head dejectedly for a moment, but springs back to life with a taunting grin.

“ Nothing to concern yourself with.” Velvet replied with a waning patient tone that was only reserved when dealing with Magilou. She found her showmanship abrasive and unnecessary, practically migraine inducing.  

“ What are you even doing up? It has to be nearing dawn.” She found magilou’s presence suspicious.

Alvin was pretty sure he could detect a trap when he heard one, too, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to rise to the bait.

“Immaterial, hm? Witches feed their bellies on rainbows and promises? Thought that was more what they fed other people,” he teased.

“Perhaps others, but not I!" She puffs her chest out with confidence. "I’ve had all that is tangible in this realm of ours... Is it not natural for one to seek that we don't truly understand?” Oh what was she going on about?

At the sound of laughter, the pirate jumped a bit before looking at the witch, hopping onto her feet, hand lowering to the small of her back before falling to her side when she didn’t note anything that seemed too dangerous about the woman.

“I was hopin for somethin ta drink but I think it’s just a letter,” she answered. Biting down, the pirate pulled the cork off with her teeth before carefully pulling out what was inside. Personally, she hoped it was some juicy love letter.

“An’ I ain’t a kiddo. I’m a pirate and the best one you’ll ever meet, nano ja~!” She was just short was all.

“Oh? Seems I’ve a knack for meeting pirates as of late!”

Looking for a drink? Well it wasn’t a completely absurd idea. Ships are bound to drop all sorts of precious cargo from time to time. One could only hope that the bottles in question wouldn’t crack in the process and be just full of sea water!

“Well if that bottle’s a miss maybe there’s a few more lying around! Perhaps I’ll send Bienfu back in to investigate~“

There’s a small whine of protest from the normin...

Under the waves, the pirate tugged on the bottle from the sand before looking around some more. Maybe some coins and jewelry were there? Shifting through the gald the semi-greedy girl pocketed what she found before she noted… a doll?

A poke on the things cheek as she let out a giggle. It was cute, that that was for certain. Moving closer, she went to grab it and take it up with to the surface, she needed some air after all.

“Phooey, ain’t anything cool under there, nano ja,” a huff as she sat what she presumed to be a doll on the stone before climbing up and looking at the bottle, dangling her legs in the water.

Bienfu struggles in vain against Patty’s grip. He was even forced to inhale a bit of seawater until they resurfaced! Once set on the stone the little normin coughs and groans and Magilou’s smirk widens at the display.

“I don’t...think I even...needed to dive in... Bieeen... I think I swallowed a sea urchin...!!” Unable to contain it any further the witch bursts out with laughter. This had proved to be even more amusing than she expected!

“You were the one offering advice in the first place, as I recall. D’you have a vested interest in that thing, Miss Witch?”

“And your better suggestion is … ?”

“Oho? You’d best be wary to consult the likes of a witch..” She sways from side to side.
