It's me again! I have some questions in regards to "Glorious Purpose". Where exactly does your story diverge from the Main Canon MCU Timeline? Sigyn obviously doesn't exist in the main timeline, unless one wants to argue that Sylvie might be a variant of her? Seeing as Frigga is still alive, this has to take some time before the events of "Thor: The Dark World"? But what about films/events that came before that (i.e. The Avengers, Thor, etc.)?
Thor seems a lot less brash/cocky/arrogant and he & Loki seem to be on a lot better terms with each other (Don't know if Odin has placed that worthiness spell on Mjolnir yet?). Thor appears to have been to Midgard before (if he ever was banished, he could've visited Midgard a few time before that?), so has he already met Erik Selvig, Darcy Lewis & Jane Foster? If so, then it would be nice if Jane made an appearance in the story (I'd like to see her meet Sigyn).
Finally, there's the events of The Avengers. If those events (or a variation of them) are canon to your story, then wouldn't Clarence & the hospital staff (possibly also SHIELD Agents if they show up) recognize Loki and be EXTREMELY apprehensive of him? I know this story takes place in Brooklyn but that isn't too far from Manhattan; they would've definitely heard of it. Also, Sigyn must be very forgiving of Loki if the events (or a variation of events) of "Thor" & "The Avengers" are canon to your story.
I'm sorry that this is a lot read/consider, I'm just very curious about your story.
Hey again ππ€π€ I love hearing that youβre so curious about the story - it genuinely makes me happy, and Iβm always more than glad to answer any questions you have π
Glorious Purpose is set in a complete alternative timeline. Itβs much more rooted in the classical mythology of Thor and Loki than in the main MCU continuityβ¦ and furthermore a lot of my own interpretation of the characters. Because of that, the events diverge significantly from what we know as canon. Thor does know Jane Foster and the Avengers in this version of eventsβ¦ but not in the same context or through the same history weβre familiar with from the films. Things have unfolded differently here, so while certain relationships and knowledge exist, the circumstances that led to them are not the ones from the main timeline. Sigynβs presence, Frigga still being alive, and the overall tone between Thor and Loki are all part of that divergence. Itβs its own version of their world rather than a direct prequel or side-story to the MCU films.
