Here it is! I wouldn't exactly call this headcanon, but still. I'm trying to repost the info from my tg, where I discussed this.
I’ve been thinking a lot about her transition in the GTA 3D universe, and I personally prefer to read it through a more grounded headcanon.
In my interpretation, Reni was assigned male at birth but never felt comfortable in that role, which is why she often referred to herself as a woman or used gender-neutral terms like they. I see her gender identity as fluid over time, something that can shift and evolve through different periods of her life.
When she talks about her past on the LCS radio, I tend to interpret it more symbolically, as a way of describing her personal journey and self-perception, rather than a literal account of multiple physical changes. In VCS, we actually see her during a very specific period: she is still presenting as male while performing as a drag persona (?), and experiencing a fluid, evolving sense of gender. Later, she undergoes a gender-affirming surgery that is referenced in-game (along with cosmetic procedures like rhinoplasty).
In VCS, we see her during a more experimental, fluid period of self-expression and performance, while in LCS her identity is presented more consistently and she use she/her pronouns, which I read as her being more openly and fully recognized in her trans identity.
I might be wrong, so sorry in advance - I’m not really well-informed on this topic.
