youâre SO close to getting it. replace heroes with any marginalised community and villains with cishet white men and you literally have the problem that everyone is complaining about.
i agree that pittfandom is crazy and that 9/10 we are not to be listened to in terms of crafting quality storylines that are actually in the show. but when the thing people have issues with are racism and sexism then maybe itâs time to get off your executive producer high horse and take a look at why people are upset.

whenever trinity asked her to spend the night, yolanda would only smile and state theyâve both got work in the morning, a reasonable expectation that trinity would accept with a shrug, hiding her disappointment in a pillow as yolanda walked out the bedroom door.
baran al-hashimi did not accept this.
âdonât I live closer than you?â she questioned with a frown as soon as she saw trinity shouldering her duffel bag. âI donât mind you staying.â
âitâs fine.â trinity had answered, because it was fine. if she didnât stay the night, then this wasnât serious, she wasnât banging yet another boss of hers, wasnât looking like she was sleeping her way to the top. âhuckleberry isnât house-trained yet, heâll get anxious and pee everywhere.â

baran canât look at her yet, instead finding the fidgeting hands in her lap the most interesting thing in the room. trinity sees how she pulls her lip between her teeth, how she folds inwards a little at the rejection and she sighs.
maybe baran isnât needy but sheâs certainly sensitive.
trinity steps forward. âdo you want me to stay, really?â
baranâs mouth quivers. âi want you to be safe.â she mumbles and now trinity knows sheâs an asshole.
sheâs not used to it.
being looked out for like this.
she drops her bag to the floor and pads slowly back across the room. kneels and takes baranâs hands out of her lap.
âmâsorry.â she mumbles.
baran still looks a little hurt, but she reaches up and brushes trinityâs hair out of her face, her palm resting on trinityâs cheek thoughtfully. even when sheâs upset, she always looks at trinity like sheâs just hung the stars in the sky.
âstay?â
trinity nuzzles into her hand, comforted. âokay.â
Just got to the episode with Santos and Langdon and the seizure patient. First, Langdonâs recommendation for next steps in management is wrong. Theyâre at four minutes of seizure activity and have already given eight of lorazepam. Santos is right that at five minutes when you call this status epilepticus you need to give the anti-seizure medication. She suggests levetiracetam which is one of the first line options. She is completely correct in her knowledge of how to manage status, which is impressive for a new intern.
Langdon wants to keep giving benzos we assume because he knows that what the patient got was actually saline. Putting that horror aside for one second, his suggestion that they repeatedly give benzos and even intubate a patient in status prior to giving an anti-seizure medication is just wildly incorrect management.
Robby lets Langdon get away with continuing this incorrect management but another attending might not have and then the patient what, would never have gotten benzos at all? Thatâs insane to think about.
Which brings me to how shocking this is on a rewatch. Langdon is taking an action that could have killed or caused serious permanent cognitive impairment to this patient. Who knows how many patients have been harmed. The ED treats a whole lot of alcohol withdrawal which is treated with benzos and is potentially lethal if not treated correctly.
Itâs completely understandable that Santos feels like sheâs being gaslit when heâs welcomed back warmly. The problem isnât the substance use disorder. The problem is his utter disregard for taking an action that might have killed patients. Robby too gets a lot of pushback for not welcoming Langdon warmly, but again he knows that Langdon stole drugs and could have harmed patients. And Langdonâs many apologies seem never to wrestle with the real moral failing of his, forever hiding behind addiction to not take responsibility for having possibly done real harm to numerous patients.
Side note that what happens to Langdon after season one wasnât up to Robby but up to the residency program. And having seen many residents be allowed to graduate who truly should not practice medicine, itâs unsurprising that no serious action was taken.
