Suddenly, out of the blue, I lost the muse/motivation to roleplay Marlene... But... I miss you guys dearly! I'm busy all day today (going off to work in a few minutes actually ;;) but I swear I'll be on in the afternoon tomorrow for you guys!

Cid's Valentine's Day (OPEN)
“What the fuck am I supposed to do for Shera today?” Cid grumbled, searching through the stack of cards at the crowded Midgar store. It was full of annoying couples playing tonsil-hockey or staying arm-in-arm to keep people from moving around them.
Valentine’s Day was possibly the most irritating holiday on the face on the planet, but he did love Shera and he knew she’d probably be pissed if he didn’t do anything for it. So he figured a card and some chocolates would be alright. What he didn’t expect was that there’d be so many goddamn different ones to pick from.
Chocolates are empty without a Valentine's Day card to complete it. Grabbing some money from her desk, Marlene gripped it in her fist as she walked towards the nearby crowded Midgar store. Left and right, she saw couples doting on each other or slobbery exchanging saliva. A pink hue formed on her cheeks as she looked away, embarrassed.
As she entered the store, her eyes widened to see a familiar figure standing by the cards section looking frustrated.
"Picking out a Valentine's Day card too?" questioned a sly Marlene in a playful tone. "I'm picking out ones for Cloud and... Denzel."
Why did I pause at "Denzel" again? It's the second time today!
Today is Valentine's Day.
A day where girls give chocolates to the boy they like to express their feelings.
Marlene was squatting beside the oven, watching her chocolate slowly bake through the small transparent screen while lost in thoughts as she mumbled, "There's one chocolate for Cloud, one chocolate for Denzel..."
At the mention of the name "Denzel", her body froze. She became immobile. Her heart started racing, the heart beats pounding in her ears. She shook her head left and right and patted her burning red cheeks.
W-Why am I acting this way? It's only Denzel. I'm just giving him chocolate because he's my friend and I'm supposed to...
She nodded, convincing herself that there's no meaning beyond adoring friendship for giving Denzel some delicious chocolate.

The little girl stood next to Tifa, her head meeting the older girl’s waist. A bright smile settled upon Marlene’s face as she looked up into Tifa’s face.
“Yeah, that’s probably what he’s doing.” I hope he’s alright and is staying out of trouble… Daddy too. “Hey, after we’re done cleaning, can we go to Aerith’s church, Tifa?”
Aerith’s church? The request took Tifa a bit by surprise, mainly from the way the conversations subject changed so quickly but she wasn’t complaining.
“That sounds like a great idea.” she nodded, smiling down at Marlene’s bright face. When was the last time that they had visited the church with its patch of yellow flowers? She couldn’t remember with everything being so busy as of late. Leaning down so that she was face to face with the girl, she placed a hand on her head. “We can wait until after we clean, or we can leave now, and leave anything that’s left for Cloud when he gets back. Your choice.”
“Hm… Let’s leave it for Cloud. That’s what he gets for being away so much!” declared Marlene in a playful tone.
“Alright then!” Tifa laughed, straightening up. “Maybe that’ll teach him.” A pat to the top of Marlene’s head and she had both rags in her hand, moving to place them on the counter. “Would you like to bring anything with us?”
Marlene looked around as her eyes darted to the ceiling, wondering if they should bring anything with them. Her brown eyes shifted back to Tifa as she shook her head left and right.
"No, I think we're all set," said Marlene. "Do you think the piano will still be there?"

Marlene took Yeul’s hand, noting how warm it was. She inwardly flinched at the mention of parents. She always had a feeling in the back of her mind that Daddy wasn’t actually her biological dad… Regardless, he’s still a father in her eyes.
Realizing that she was losing herself in her train of thoughts, Marlene shook her head and simply smiled. “Yeah, I’m sure my family is waiting for me back home.”
*She helps the little girl to back to her home. Their bodies start to shine, and they dematerialize for a while, Yeul looks Marlene and offered her a tranquillizer smile. They finally appear again, this time, in a new place. Yeul walks looking the sky and the tall constructions, and trying to watch it all at the same time.*
Is this Edge, Marlene? *She was looking for flowers, but she doesn’t see it anywhere*
Marlene nodded and grin. She ran around, twirling about as some onlookers chuckled at the little girl's actions. Most of the citizens ignored her.
"I'm home!" she giggled. "Thank you. How did you take us back to my planet?"

“You’re in Midgar. Oh, I didn’t introduce myself. I’m sorry. My name is Marlene.”
‘Marlene, huh? That’s pretty name for a pretty girl!’ She smiled, the girl was so sweet and kind. ‘But Midgar? Now why does that sound familiar..?’ She wondered putting her hand to her mouth in thought.
Marlene giggled. “Thank you, Vanille. You’re name is really nice too. Hmm, maybe you’ve been here before but you can’t remember? I can show you a couple of places since you’re here.”
‘Hmm, maybe so. But sure, i’ll come with you. It can be a mini adventure!’ Vanille exclaimed delightfully, as she allowed the girl to take the lead and show her around.
"Okay!" Marlene's small hands intertwined as she leaned forward.
"Where would you like to go first? Restaurant, walk around the city, the bad side, the good side...?" Marlene listed. She wasn't sure where she should take the cheerful girl first so perhaps it's best to go to places that she may be interested in. She wanted to give Vanille a really good tour.
“Grass can sure pack a punch, huh?” commented Marlene.
She looked down at the grass and patted it firmly. Marlene stood up, letting her long silky strands of brown hair fall around her shoulders. She realized that this was the longest time she wore her hair loose. Placing the ribbon in between her lips, she bundled her hair and wrapped it around the top of the ponytail, making a perfect bow. Then, she parted her hair into three sections. The middle section was held in place as the other two weaved around it to create braids. When she was near the ends of her hair, she finished the neat braid by tying it with a black hair elastic that she had on her wrist.
There. I feel complete again.
“Thank you very much for your help. I owe you. If there’s anything I can do to help you, please say,” gushed a grateful Marlene.
He was such a kind person to help her when he barely knew her to begin with. She was sure to always remember him.
Noel patted her head when she finished fixing her hair. “You owe me a flower, remember?” he said jokingly, letting out a soft chuckle. Though she was young, she seemed like a very mature girl, and he appreciated her company. His gaze softened, and he bent down to her eye-level. “And make sure you don’t run too far from your family. I’m sure they miss you.”
Marlene nodded and beamed at Noel. "Yeah, I'd miss my family too. I'll make sure to keep my promise by the way!" She raised an index finger. "One flower every day."

Yuna glanced around the barely lit area, squinting in an attempt to see all that was there. She noticed a few men drinking and engaging in what seemed to be a friendly conversation, and smiled at the thought of such an area bringing people together. It was apparent Marlene was very proud of this place, and for good reason; though the lighting was dark, the place held a comforting vibe, making Yuna feel almost at home.
“What would you like to drink?”
Yuna’s heterochromatic eyes shifted downward to the young girl as she realized she didn’t have much money with her.
“Oh, I’m fine,” she insisted with a nod and smile, “It’d just be nice to sit somewhere. I’m a little tired.” She looked around once more, focusing on a group of stools that stood empty.
“That’s very nice of you to help the owner out. Where is she?”
"Oh, Tifa! I believe she's in the back, sorting out orders and delivery stuff," replied Marlene. The little girl tilted her head slightly with a puzzled look on her face as her brown eyes studied Yuna.
"But, didn't you say you were hungry?" asked Marlene. "I bet it took you a long time for you to get here."
She frowned, thinking hard why the newcomer would deny food.
"Ah! If it's about money, then don't worry! It's on the house today!" A smile graced Marlene's face as she fluttered her hand in the air, indicating that giving free food to a nice person like Yuna was no big deal.
I'm sure Tifa wouldn't mind at all.
"Now, what do you want to eat? Some eggs and toast, maybe?" suggested Marlene.
“No idea.” He ruffled her head, getting off of the stool. “Maybe we can fly there one of these days.”
Marlene grinned. “That would be fun. Oh! I’m going to hang these two drawings up on the wall by the way. Wait, wait! Did you sign and date your drawing? You have to!”
She offered Cid a ball-pointed pen.
Cid took it and scribbled his name in the corner of the drawing. “There. That good?”
She nodded. "Yes. It's perfect."
As she scampered over to the wall behind the pub, she wondered how Cid and Aunt Shera met. Marlene didn't know much about them aside that they're friends of Cloud, Tifa, and Daddy.
I wonder if he'd tell me their story of how they met...

Cid felt his cheeks heat up. Did he really just ask a kid for reassurance? And did that kid really just use the words ‘big kind heart’ to describe him? Must be a mistake.
“…Alright. Thanks, kid.”
Hey, he didn’t call me ‘brat’. He called me ‘kid’. Now imagine me if he said my name… She giggled at that thought.
“Your welcome~!” She rubbed her chin and crossed her arms. She thoughtfully said, “I want to see a stork deliver a baby in person one day… I want to see this baby factory, wherever it is. Hey, do you know where it is?”
“No idea.” He ruffled her head, getting off of the stool. “Maybe we can fly there one of these days.”

“You think I’d be a good dad?” Cid asked, and stopped short, because he’d really just voiced the only reason he was against the idea. What if he wasn’t a good dad? What if he ended up just like his own father, a dead-beat? What if Shera ended up hating him in the end? Maybe not having a kid would be easier…
A smile touched the young girl’s face as her gaze softened.
“You’d make a great daddy because you have a big, big kind heart. The baby will love you forever. I really believe that-!”

Her brows furrowed as she silently studied Cid who wore an expression of self-doubt. Inclining her head, Marlene asked, “What are you thinking about?”
Cid shook his head. “Nothin’,” he muttered. Then he thought about it. Kids were sometimes the most trustworthy people out there, so devoted were they to keeping secrets. He went over and sat on a barstool. “You wanna keep a secret for me?”
She lifted the pinky finger on her left hand in response. “I can keep secrets. I won’t tell anyone. Not a single soul.”
Pinky promises is serious for her. Once you lock your pinky finger with the other person’s pinky finger, you cannot break it; it’s a deal. A promise. Promises are sacred. To break them means severe punishment.
“You gotta promise not to tell Aunt Shera nothin’. Or nobody else.” Cid linked pinkies with her, looking down at her sternly.
Marlene nodded in agreement as her face pulled together a serious facial expression. “Got it. I promise I won’t tell Aunt Shera, Cloud, Tifa, Daddy, Denzel, Yuffie, Vincent, and even the flowers. No one.” Her pitch hardened on the words no one, emphasizing her sincerity.
“Alright.” Cid took a moment to gnaw on his lower lip, looking both ways to make sure no one entered the bar. Shera might be looking for him, or Tifa might wander in. “…What would you do if Shera’n I had a baby?”
“Well…” She blinked and looked at the ceiling thoughtfully. “I’d be really happy! I would be older than the baby for once.” Considering that she spends a lot of her childhood with adults, she was always considered the youngest one. Even Denzel is older than her.
