The end of summer and fall were intensely busy for me so I'm just now finding the opportunity now to go through my photography and get some new posts up on my blog. It's nice to revisit some work that you've forgotten about. When I originally shot this photo I wasn't all to happy with the outcome but once i viewed it on screen and touched it up a bit I fell in love with – it may be one of my favorite shots that I took all summer.

Call me old fashioned but I'm a firm believer that print is not dead. I'm working on a book design and it's been a great reminder about the beauty of tactile design. Being able to feel the grain of paper; forcing myself to think about inks, saturation and finishes; having to choose between different paper stocks and wonder how it might affect the final design. With most projects going digital these days I rarely have the opportunity to work with anything but a mouse, my screen and a bunch of pixels. This project has afforded me the chance to go back to basics. I wish students now were still taught about traditional print design instead of being so heavily focused on digital. It's a shame that so many designers these days rarely get the chance to work with their hands.

  After hanging up my dance shoes to focus on my career and coming to the realization that I know had much more time on my hands than I’ve had in 7 years I said to myself, “Fuck … what the hell am I supposed to do with myself now?” I did what any normal person would do … start a blog.   But what to write about? It recently hit me that I am 3 years shy of turning 30. There aren’t many landmark birthdays in your life after you turn 21, but for those of us in any form of denial about being an adult, turning 30 is like the kiss of death. Time to take out the piercings, get a big boy hair cut, buckle down, stop pretending you’re still in college and can handle binge drinking every night of the week and grow the fuck up. Perfect subject matter for a blog.   Join me as I document the next three years of my life — the good, bad, boring and ugly — and every little ounce of fun I can have before I turn 30 (since turning 30 might as well be the end of the world). A satirical take on the life of a 27 year old. Fuck I’m old.
